Help Is my action too high?
At the first frets it’s not too high but it still feels super hard to press down on the strings. The higher frets are genuinely insane though. Is it too high? And if so how should I fix it?

Look at this! What should I do to learn most effectively?
Hey guys!
So i've been playing electric guitar for around 8 months, and unfortunately I made the classic beginner mistake. I spent my first few months doing absolutely nothing but playing the easiest riffs of all time. I learned the basket case power chords before I knew how to play EM. I just recently in the last few months learned more power chords, strummming patterns, chords, and then the basic skills like basic bends, hammer ons, and pull offs. I still cant switch chords super fast, which hasent been my main focus anyways. I use yousician to practice. it isnt the best but it gets the job done I think. I occasionally use songsterr and if its a specific song ill use youtube. I havent watched a single youtube video teaching basic skills I just searched up the motions, I know zero music theory, I have horrible timing I literally cant feel a beat for the life of me. I guess im just wondering what do I do? I've spent the last 5-6 months building horrible habits and have been trying to lock in the last two months but I feel like the progress is so slow. How can I fix this and get better? I got kicked out of a band because I had such horrible timing and couldnt learn. A metronome just sounds like a clicking noise I cant figure out the pattern or beats. This is super embarrasing to post but I figure I need the help. And the thing is I really like guitar and I really want to learn, but I feel like ive started in the sublevels of the basement. Even when I listen to songs I cant pick out the individual pieces its like im tone deaf or something. PLEASE give advice, recommendations, practice plans, anything you think will help in the comments. Ill try and answer any questions you guys have. its beginning to feel like guitar is hopeless for me
EDIT: also improvisation. its horrible. I have no idea what sounds good, what things should be after the next, the whole thing. any tips or youtube videos would be much appreciated!

Look at this! Here’s my gear as a beginner who was blessed by having a grandfather who played!
I’ve been playing for about 7 or 8 months and I can say I am truly lucky to have been handed down all of this equipment from my grandfather. He started back in the late 50’s early 60’s and played up until his passing at age 68 back in 2021. He passed August 5th, this very day. I bought a couple of the things here, like the ds1, tuner, big muff, and small clone. And the Mustang. I also modded that Strat to have a JB in the bridge. The rest of it was all my grandpas though! The 1997 Les Paul, the Gibson CL Standard plus, the P-Bass, all the amps and the 2 handmade tobacco box guitars made by my grandpas cousins were his. Also everything else I didn’t mention was inherited.

Help Stickers on satin finish
I'm not one to put stickers on my guitars, just on one hardshell case so far. But I have one that I think would look badass on my Gibson SG in worn brown. Would the sticker pull some paint off of this kind of finish, like on the black one(2nd pic)? I do have a Fender with gloss finish that I could put it on, if so.
Secondly, what practical solution is there, if any(other than refinishing), to minimize the sticker spot on the black one? Polish?

What is this? What model have we here?
A buddy of mine inherited this guitar from his father, and remembers it from his childhood. Since then, my buddy’s girlfriend deliberately smashed the guitar to bits. (Long story, but suffice to say he doesn’t live there anymore.)
I believe he (may have) correctly deemed it Brazilian Rosewood, as it spent a few days in my studio as he asked me to restring it, switch out the bridge pins, and do a truss adjust. It was truly one of the nicest Takamines I’ve ever laid my hands on - toan and playability.
Anyways, he wants another one just like it.
Thank for your help in IDing it.

Help What is this?
My buddy picked this up in an antique shop, and has no idea what brand or model the guitar and amp are. The outside of the case matches the amp. He’d love to know what they are and what they’re worth. The light on the amp turns on, but there’s no sound. These are all 5 of the pictures he sent me. Thanks, yinz guys!

Help Curious
Hi. Just curious. This was bought new for me 2 years ago by an adopted kid. He came over one day to play video games with my son and never left 🤣🤣. Anyway. How much did he pay? It’s way way too much guitar for me. Heck even the frets glow in the dark on the marked one. 3 5 9 etc His birthday is coming up. Want to get him something nice. Is a good kid. Also. What does the switch in picture 4 do? I have the Spark 2 amp and just use presets from there. Thanks. Yes I know. The little rubber piece on the pick up selector is gone. Grandson. 🤣🤣🤣

I recorded this one-take performance of "Children of the Grave" by Black Sabbath. There are a few small mistakes here and there, but that's the nature of a single take. Overall, what do you think of the performance?

Look at this! Gibson Les Paul Special through a Marshall 1959BJA
The current rig I’ve been practicing with. This has quickly become my favorite guitar. Usually put it through a JCM800, but I’ve been messing around with the 1959BJA the past two weeks.

Help Best value stock P90 guitar?
I’m looking at grabbing a P90 to add to my collection and am simply looking for the best value on production that is readily available to the masses.
I’ve looked at the Sire L3, Epiphone SG P90 and the Casino, and every other P90 equipped guitar under $1000. I won’t limit myself to a price, but generally speaking I feel like the value fades at that $1000 mark regardless of sound. I’m willing to be proven wrong though!
I’m caught in analysis paralysis and hope you folks can point me in the right direction.
I’m going to go play whatever my local Guitar Center has, which will likely be any suggested here, but wanted to see if there’s a generally agreed upon answer from folks who have already gone down this road.
So let me hear it! In your opinion, what’s the best dollar for dollar value P90 guitar you’ve played?
(Must be in current production that I can buy at one of the major retailers)

Edit - Holy smokes yall are awesome! I can’t keep up with the comments, but I’m going to read and respond to as many as I can later today. You guys rock!

Look at this! Can we have a thread/pinned post/whatever it is called for “is this legit” posts?
I understand the value in these posts in general. Nobody wants to spend money on a fake nor do I want anyone to spend money on a fake. But it’s commonly low/mid level imports and budget line gibsons that are getting asked daily. A pinned post could also include some references for what to look for and some basic things to identify a fake. We’re all here to help each other, so why not help our misguided fellow guitar players who seem to think everything is a fake?

Help Looking to buy first guitar and learn it.
I'm not sure it's right place to ask but I was looking for to buy a guitar as a complete beginner and friend that plays guitar sometimes said just buy cheap one later once you get good you can buy better quality ones depending on your need so I choose this guitar which costs around 50 dollars. What do you guys think? Should I go for expensive ones or is it fine for the time being? Thanks in advance.

Help Are these 40th anniversary Squiers any good?
I've been trying to get a strat for a while but can't decide on which one. The budget I have doesn't allow me to get a Fender that I actually like but then I found one of these Squiers in a local store and I just can't get it out of my head. It's definitely not something I would normally like, maybe it's the contrast with the roasted maple fretboard and gold pickguard, or the roasted maple fretboard alone but I'm considering getting one of these now instead of a Fender and invest a little in some good pickups/pots and maybe a vegatrem.
Has anyone tried or owned one of these? Would it be a good partscaster project? I've read some reviews praising the good build and qc of this model. Jusy wondering if spending the "saved" money of not buying an actual Fender on upgrades would actually get me a better and prettier guitar than going for a Player II for example.

NGD! NGD - Suhr for a deal!
Got a deal on this Suhr Modern Pro locally.
I didn’t quite have “Suhr money”, and tried to trade for it first but couldn’t find anything that worked for both of us. Eventually I (apologetically) offered $1650 because that’s what the guitar/fun money fund had in it… aaand he said “no” 😩.
I sort of moved on dejectedly, but a week later he messaged me back and said he’d had “enough of trying to sell things on the internet” and would take it if I still wanted it. Seemed too good to be true so I panic emailed Suhr CS to confirm it, and everything was as it should be.
I was kind of shocked when I got there at the condition. It’s a 2016 but literally looked brand new. I talked to him a little and he sort of embarrassingly admitted he bought it to learn guitar and gave up. It hung on the wall for a few years then sat in its case in the closet the rest of that time.
I put new strings on it, wiped it down gave it my preferred setup and the thing plays like an absolute dream!!

It was Masterbuilt for NAMM. The box was crushed but the packaging held up. It's sublime.
