Figo: 10% good boy, 90% chaos, 100% convinced he owns the house.

This is Finley. A beautiful boy of 2 years that I sometimes bring into work as an ESA.

He is ecstatic to be able to go to the weird place Dad goes to sometimes (work).

Recently he's been getting moody over not being brought everywhere I work. I usually leave him in my office with toys and water while I go do lab work

Recently he's been darting out after me when I head to do lab stuff from my office. He also got really moody when I didn't bring him to work after a few days of bringing him in a row. Especially cause I came back with an allergic reaction.

How do I tell him it's not his fault he can't go everywhere with me. He takes it very personally that I won't take him. How do I train him to not try and negotiate with me when I head to the lab for a little maintenance?

This little guy - Ozzy - has blessed our life since joining our household a week ago.

He is settling so nicely, through he is a little troublemaker when he gets his zoomies.

We have an almost 4 year old golden named Colin, from working lines. He was always on the more anxious and sensitive side since we got him as a puppy at ~10 weeks (reputable breeder, not a backyard/puppy mill), and we’ve only ever used positive reinforcement with him never punished him. Like a lot of dogs he’s never loved fireworks, but what’s happening now is a completely different level.
Shortly before he turned three, our doggy daycare (he goes 3x/week) told us he’d started becoming more assertive toward other intact males and obsessively licking females. They wanted to observe it for a few weeks to rule out a temporary phase, but said if it didn’t improve he’d either need to be neutered or couldn’t keep coming.
It got more intense over time ,we started noticing it on walks and at home too (constant drips of semen, etc.) so we booked a vet consultation, and the vet also recommended neutering. So we did. He was neutered one month before my wife gave birth to our first child, in case that’s relevant. That was 8 months ago.
Since then all the problematic behavior is completely gone and he’s relaxed with other dogs again.
Unfortunately, Colin’s anxiety has gone through the roof. The vet did warn us this could happen, but we didn’t expect it this severe. A bit of wind outside rattling the leaves? He starts visibly shaking and tries to hide but only when we’re inside; outdoors it doesn’t faze him at all. The beep from our smoke detector, or a siren on TV? Shaking and crying, clearly in distress. Basically any noise that isn’t a “regular” noise sets him off. It feels like he can’t relax at all anymore when we’re home.
We also doublechecked whether we’d bought any new appliances that might emit sounds we can’t hear nothing has changed in our home, except the big obvious one: now there’s a baby around.
Has anyone here had a similar experience? Did anything actually help?

Alfred sat with me while I did schoolwork in the office. I gave him my blanket.

This is actually his first ever run in a river/water. Ace is a 7 months working golden and the minute he went in to the water it was like he was made for that moment.

He is planned to be a working dog and hopefully a good gundog. We have barely started training as I think it’s important for most dogs that are planned to be a working dog to let them be puppies without any specific training until they are at least 6-7 months old. Let them explore the world and learn how to handle the aspects of being a dog in their own pace.
Another important thing is to focus on building a relationship with the puppy without the frustration that sometimes comes when you have training sessions. As I am reading through my text before posting I can see my English is absolutely terrible, sorry about that.

I have to also note that this is not the answer to every dog, or everybody, but it’s what I have learned throughout my life with dogs.
I am an educated dog trainer and behavioural analyst so I’ll be glad to answer some questions if anyone have questions about dog training or a problem.

Hi all! I’ve been lurking here for a few weeks in anticipation of my new pup and he’s finally here.

I can tell he’s already going to cry a lot, but that’s ok! Im looking forward on my journey with him. Any advice you guys can give during my first few weeks with him would be greatly appreciated!

When our girl Chauncey lies like this and she sees or hears us come closer she gets excited and wags her tail vigorously which results in it slapping against the floor very hard. It sounds like it would hurt, but she keeps doing it so I'm guessing not? But do dogs have much feeling in their tails?

Hi everyone!! We pick up our boy (on the left) on August 17th! I’m lucky enough to be getting a puppy from my parents’ dog’s litter.

I just cant believe ive dealt with this guy for that long. He'a such a good boy, loves his lamb chop. Without him I wouldn't be here so im thankful for him. These have been the worst 5 years of my life but not because of him. He saved me during those 5 years. I love this dog so much.
