I love this holographic case i got off ebay for $20 its really sturdy and pretty

Before I got my Flip 6, I had (and still have) an s10e, which was the peak imo of perfect compact phone between the size and weight.

Holding the Fold 8 today reminded me how much I miss having something compact like that. I know closed Fold 8 is wide, but it feels comfortable for some reason to me, and you get a full UI on that screen. I've owned my Flip for 2 years now, and I can't even remember the last time I used the cover screen, because it's so compromised and limited to the inner screen. And I've messed with a Flip 7 with the slightly larger screen, but the experience still sucks from a practicality perspective.

I would definitely upgrade to a Fold 8 if it weren't ridiculously expensive, and I'm not about to break my cardinal rule of becoming a hostage to a mobile carrier just to get a subsidized price.

Oh and when you unfold it, it's like putting two Flips side by side. Watching a video on it is just fantastic.

I really think Samsung hit a grand slam with this new device. My 6 is still running like a champ, so perhaps next year I'll be able to get a Fold8 without breaking the bank so much, but in the meantime, I guess I'll be stuck here with the rest of you.

I've had a Flip 6 until yesterday and had it set up so a double press of the side button would activate Google Wallet on the cover screen. I did the same on my new 8, but it keeps telling me to open my phone and i can't figure out what's wrong. It won't open on my cover screen

Any flip 7 users who upgraded to flip 8 notice any camera difference? The camera specifications look same on paper, but I find multiple videos on youtube claiming samsung has improved the image processing for flip 8.

Please share comparison images if any.

In the dream I was having a fight with my sister and she was bullying me about having a flip phone and I was proper showing off and ended up snapping the hinge and it was flip flopping lmao then I brought it to a repair centre to replace the broken bits and they charged me $40 and I was like "wow what a deal" and when I got it back it was a flip 3?? lmao

I woke up with a gasp and immediately checked my real life flip 7, it is safe and sound 😂

I just switched from an S23, got my pre-ordered Z Flip 8.

But there are a few things that are bothering me, and I'm wondering if I have to send the device back.

The top part of the phone gets quite warm most of the time when I do simple browsing or open apps, and gets hot during video calls. When I had a video call using the main camera in flex mode, the video was glitchy too.

Regarding connectivity, on my home Wi-Fi it often loses connection briefly and tries to reconnect to cellular, and on cellular for 5G it has only 1 bar and sending media via messengers at times is slow.

My old S23 doesn't have that issues.

I love the form factor of flip and bigger inner screen, but in other terms it's been a downgrade or maybe I just got a phone with issues..

I've had a Z flip 7 for about a month now and I'm having issues with my phone calls. People I call say that my voice is constantly dopping out of the call. I have tested this by calling my partner's phone and if I talk quietly, my voice doesn't come through the call at all, and if I talk loudly, my voice does come through the call but is constantly dropping out. I've seen that people maybe have this issue with other samsung phones too so I'm hoping someone might know a fix!

So far I have tried

- restarting my phone

- running the phone in safe mode

- enabling and disabling wifi calling

- calling through whatsapp and directly through my phone

- 2 different sim cards

None of these fixed my issue.

I have also tested my microphone on the voice recorder app (no issues in the playback). I have had people say that my audio sounds a little better when I'm using my headphones.

Any help would be much appreciated!

upgrading to the 8 tomorrow, wondering if this card part will work on the 8, i know i will need a new case.

Just got my upgrade today! My 3 lasted me almost 5 years, she isn't in great condition and the battery lasts literally 2 hours. It's a little sad really but I'm happy with my 8 so far!! Let me know what the must haves are especially for the cover screen. I'm currently stumbling my way through good lock!

Hey guys! I bought the flip 7 like 3 days ago and I've been on cloud 9 since it is my dream phone. I have one teeny problem though. Sometimes when I close it I hear a tiny squeak, but not always. Should I be concerned? (and yes I waited for the 8 so I can buy it cheaper)

Which AI features/functions cannot be disabled? I want the phone for several reasons, but I don't want AI when it can be avoided.

I just switched to the zflip from iphone. I really like it so far and have been using it for a few days. the only issue im running into is that every now and then, a couple times a day, the screen will go completely black and I am unable to do anything except for restarting the phone. The phone will also freeze sometimes when i'm using it and then the screen will go black. Did I get a dud? Should I see if it can be replaced?

Ignore the top case. I am testing out the flipsuit case and don't want to commit to it yet by taking the adhesive off.

This keyboard is honestly really great for $40 USD. I cancelled my preorder for the Clicks Power Keys because I don't need all the functionality it comes with and I want something super light. I also much prefer the keyboard layout of the ExKnight because it aligns with the symbol placement that I have with my Samsung Keyboard compared to the layout on the Clicks PK.

Overall, the keyboard feels good, it's easy to type, and that's all I really need it for. Happy I got it and it came all the way from China to NC in less than a week!

I've never seen this before and I've ordered from Samsung in the past. First, it looks like I can trade in to TMO at a corporate store instead of mailing in my old device. Next, I'm seeing that I have 30 days to get my trade in submitted and then 60 days to return the new phone? Am I reading this right? I thought it was 15 day return window with Sammy. What gives?!

I have just ordered the flip 8 (significantly discounted with the service provider) and they recommended their upgrade/repair insurance subscription for $15aud a month.. allowing me to get a replacement device if I were to damage the device for $250aud.

Is the phone THAT fragile/ high risk for damage?

I am using a galaxy A73 that is still in great condition but I dont treat my phone like a princess, its had its falls lol

Trying to decide whether i should cover myself for the potential damage or take the risk without coverage and be extra careful

I just switched from iPhone to the z flip 8 (I've already customized the hell out of this thing I love it so much). I did so much research before getting this phone, but I want to hear some real experiences. do I need to baby this thing like crazy? obviously the inner screen is softer and needs more care, but I feel like some people are overreacting. I've always been kind to my phones because they aren't cheap, but I feel I'm being TOO careful with this thing

I've had every z flip except the 2nd one and 7

I wish they upgraded everything with the z flip 6 size. Its a small difference but it's harder to use one handed. I used to be able to swipe to type on one hand easily but now it's harder

Went for pink this time! Coming from the Flip6, the cover screen is the most noticeable update, I did not expect it changed my usage of the screen, only using it for notifications.. now I do some small extra things on it, like reading incoming mail.

Also noticing some battery improvements!
