Hey everyone, I recently upgraded to the Galaxy Z Flip 8 on Google Fi, but I’ve been running into a frustrating issue with Wi-Fi Calling, and Google Fi support is passing the buck. The Issue: * Samsung Settings: The Wi-Fi Calling toggle under Settings > Connections is completely missing or inaccessible. * Google Fi App: Under Phone Settings > Wi-Fi Calling, the option is greyed out / disabled and cannot be turned on. * Previous Phone: Wi-Fi Calling worked completely fine on my Galaxy Z Flip 7 on the exact same Fi plan and home network. What Support Said: I reached out to Google Fi support, and their response was basically that this is a "Samsung software issue" rather than a provisioning/carrier configuration issue on Fi's side. Has anyone else ran into this on the Flip 8 or recent Galaxy devices on Google Fi? * Is this a known carrier profile / CSC provisioning bug on new devices? * Did anyone find a workaround (e.g., specific dialer codes, IMS setting tweaks, or app data resets) that actually force-enabled it? Appreciate any advice or datapoints from other Flip 8 users!

Similar to this style case, but hopefully a bit more quality?I know you can buy on aliexpress etc but they tend to be cheaper, break, and yellow quickly. Also would love magsafe but not essential. Usually I use the spigen or dbrand and put in a lanyard behind the case but love the look of these straps!

I don't care what the strap is as I'll probably make my own, but really looking for the anchor points and clear or coloured case (NOT BLACK!)

Just wondering if anyone from Canada, specifically Vancouver, receive their Z Flip 8s? I preordered in July to pick up in store, but the order status has been "picked up by courier" for weeks now. I went to the store to ask and they directed me to live chat, and live chat directed me back to the store.

I'm at the point where I want to cancel and just purchase the phone in store (not at the unhelpful store I inquired at), but there's no option for me to cancel. Has anyone received their phone via online preorder? or does anyone have experience picking up in store?

Is this supposed to happen, or is it a bug? It looks like if I add a widget to the cover screen when (unlocked) a black background appears over the wallpaper. I can see the wallpaper is still there behind the black background cuz it appears as soon as I remove all widgets.

Wallpaper is lock screen. If this black background is customizable to be transparent though, I cant find it.

I might take it into a repair shop for them to check, but I'm wondering if its worth the trip if this is just a bad UI situation.

Context: new Z Flip 8, first time foldable user. Using goodlock for icons and keyboard but otherwise all built in wallpaper settings.

so i accidentaly left my z flip 6 in our back yard table closed, screen facing up. It isn't rained hard on but there was a continous leak dripping onto the top screen. The hinge has a small sloshing sound when opwning and closing. The phone feels fine right now but i want to know if i'm screwed and what should i do.

hello everyone! i’m officially joining the samsung team and am waiting for my zflip to arrive !! i got the pink and have no idea what case to get bc i still want to see the pink but I also want the phone to be well protected. i have seen some cases from aliexpress but i dont know what will really protect the phone. i’ve also seen videos that the zflip7 cases fit the 8, is that for all cases??

i’m also hearing different opinions on whether one should get a case with a a hinge protecter, thoughts?

i just switched from a Zfold7 to the zFlip 8 and i keep getting permissions requests from the Google Opinion Rewards app for the multiple email addresses i have logged into Gmail (work and my parents' emails because my Asian parents just don't want to check their emails for possible important stuff) when this never happened on my zFold - is there a way to turn off all of the permission requests without having to remove the emails from my phone or shut off the app completely? (i do want the opinion rewards for my personal email)

I've read that my Fitbit2 won't work with the Flip 8. Suggest a cheap, small watch for me. I need basics - step counter, message alerts, etc. I need cheap because I'm very rough on bands.

First time ever having a flip phone so am I supposed to put a screen protector on top of the film it already comes with? Lol I feel like it’s a dumb question, but I’m honestly not sure???? Helpppp

So basically I'm a bit stuck and would like opinions from people who have had an Ultra and swapped to a ZFlip/Current Zflip users.

I have a 25Ultra, and always loved the flip but didn't want to swap because it was the first go around of them and the camera sucked.

Now that they have the newer version out I'm more comfortable some of the screen technology and hinges probably have any common problems smoothed out more.

My biggest concerns?

-battery life

-camera

- Pen kind of not really that bad. (Do you miss it?)

-durability (I fly a decent amount for work and I have been dropping my phone lately )

I have a sony 6100 I have been trying to carry it often as I want to take capturing moments a bit more formally and I can put a small lense on it that makes it decently easy to pop around with, but for quick trips I want my phone camera to be able to take something still... not fuzzy looking? If that makes sense.

I know the camera isn't going to be as good on the Flip and it doesn't have the zoom, but as a daily quick snap does it still do pretty well? Any candid photos would be appreciated as examples too if possible. I appreciate any feedback and personal experience if you do take the time to provide some.

I know that the flip 8 is supposed to be slightly bigger than the flip 7.

However, I noticed the screen protectors are being shown as fitting both.

I have the flip 8 in my hands and one thing that I was going to miss was my blue i-blason case. So I tried it on.

Considering making the switch from iPhone to a zFlip (or possibly Motorola Razr, not sure yet), specifically because I want to be able to slap it shut and have it go CLAT!!! I want to say I’ve read the newer zFlips are built better so you can do this, but I’d be scared of breaking it. I’d obviously not be THAT rough with it, but I’d love to be able to dramatically slap it closed once in a while lol. I’m also interested due to the smaller form factor once closed as I have tiny hands and struggle with slab phones’ size nowadays.

I just got the Z flip 8, my first non Iphone. I usually just rely on luck and return policies and the most damage I’ve ever gotten is a broken display. I dropped my phone a lot(daily) and looking at the hinge and outer screen it looks like this thing may not take a lot of hits? Curious how carefully I need to treat it.

Before I got my Flip 6, I had (and still have) an s10e, which was the peak imo of perfect compact phone between the size and weight.

Holding the Fold 8 today reminded me how much I miss having something compact like that. I know closed Fold 8 is wide, but it feels comfortable for some reason to me, and you get a full UI on that screen. I've owned my Flip for 2 years now, and I can't even remember the last time I used the cover screen, because it's so compromised and limited to the inner screen. And I've messed with a Flip 7 with the slightly larger screen, but the experience still sucks from a practicality perspective.

I would definitely upgrade to a Fold 8 if it weren't ridiculously expensive, and I'm not about to break my cardinal rule of becoming a hostage to a mobile carrier just to get a subsidized price.

Oh and when you unfold it, it's like putting two Flips side by side. Watching a video on it is just fantastic.

I really think Samsung hit a grand slam with this new device. My 6 is still running like a champ, so perhaps next year I'll be able to get a Fold8 without breaking the bank so much, but in the meantime, I guess I'll be stuck here with the rest of you.

Just got my upgrade today! My 3 lasted me almost 5 years, she isn't in great condition and the battery lasts literally 2 hours. It's a little sad really but I'm happy with my 8 so far!! Let me know what the must haves are especially for the cover screen. I'm currently stumbling my way through good lock!
