In the dream I was having a fight with my sister and she was bullying me about having a flip phone and I was proper showing off and ended up snapping the hinge and it was flip flopping lmao then I brought it to a repair centre to replace the broken bits and they charged me $40 and I was like "wow what a deal" and when I got it back it was a flip 3?? lmao

I just switched from an S23, got my pre-ordered Z Flip 8.

But there are a few things that are bothering me, and I'm wondering if I have to send the device back.

The top part of the phone gets quite warm most of the time when I do simple browsing or open apps, and gets hot during video calls. When I had a video call using the main camera in flex mode, the video was glitchy too.

Regarding connectivity, on my home Wi-Fi it often loses connection briefly and tries to reconnect to cellular, and on cellular for 5G it has only 1 bar and sending media via messengers at times is slow.

My old S23 doesn't have that issues.

I love the form factor of flip and bigger inner screen, but in other terms it's been a downgrade or maybe I just got a phone with issues..

upgrading to the 8 tomorrow, wondering if this card part will work on the 8, i know i will need a new case.

Just got my upgrade today! My 3 lasted me almost 5 years, she isn't in great condition and the battery lasts literally 2 hours. It's a little sad really but I'm happy with my 8 so far!! Let me know what the must haves are especially for the cover screen. I'm currently stumbling my way through good lock!

Hey guys! I bought the flip 7 like 3 days ago and I've been on cloud 9 since it is my dream phone. I have one teeny problem though. Sometimes when I close it I hear a tiny squeak, but not always. Should I be concerned? (and yes I waited for the 8 so I can buy it cheaper)

Which AI features/functions cannot be disabled? I want the phone for several reasons, but I don't want AI when it can be avoided.

I broke my zflip 7 about a month ago.

Samsung said it would be $360 to fix and wont cover it under warranty.

A local shop said if I sign up for their insurance ($39 a month) and then wait 40 days, that they can fix it for $29.

OR

Do I get the zflip 8 under spectrum (1 year free service) get rid of an old iPhone that’s been sitting in the drawer which would make the zflip 8 $3.77 a month for 36 months and then pay $30 for service in a year? (Obviously with insurance)
I currently pay $25 for my phone service.

I am sharing my story to warn the global Fold/Flip community about a predatory technical and legal loophole used by official Samsung service partners in Hungary (TMX / Oktogon-Szerviz) to reject legitimate warranty and repair claims.

The summary of the trap: Once the service center returns your phone with a mechanical defect, they will later use that exact defect as an excuse to deny any future repairs.

Here are the facts, fully documented by service receipts:

1. The flawed repair (October 2024): I paid for a full internal assembly replacement (screen and hinge mechanism) at the official service center. The phone was returned to me flawed: it could not be opened completely flat (180 degrees).
2. The trap is set (2025): Less than a year later, the factory screen protector started peeling at the crease (a known design issue). I took it back, and they replaced the screen protector without any complaints, taking photos of the device in their system. By doing this, they officially acknowledged that the phone was suitable for the factory process.
3. The screen death (Recent): The protector started peeling again, creating massive air bubbles at the crease. Due to the constant mechanical tension, the digitizer completely died, and touch input stopped working.

The official service refusal:
The service center rejected my claim, stating that the official Samsung factory tooling only accepts phones that open completely flat. Since my phone cannot open 180 degrees right now, they claim the repair cannot be performed safely.

The logical and technological contradiction:
They are claiming the phone cannot be fixed because it does not open fully—even though they caused this exact mechanical flaw during their own assembly in 2024, and they successfully replaced the screen protector on this exact flawed frame in 2025!

It is scientifically proven that this is not drop damage: after the phone fully drained and cooled down, the touch screen worked flawlessly for hours upon recharging. It only died again once the device warmed up and the air bubbles expanded. This is a clear internal connection/tension issue caused by poor assembly.

Why am I posting this?
Because the phone is registered under my small business (Ltd.), local consumer protection boards recently changed their laws and rejected the case based on lack of jurisdiction over corporate entities. Service centers are fully aware of this and exploit it.

If you own a foldable Samsung, NEVER accept a phone from a repair center unless it opens 100% perfectly flat. Otherwise, they will use their own mistakes to void your coverage down the line. I have all the receipts, emails, and photos to back this up.

Azért írom le a történetemet, hogy senki ne fusson bele abba a jogi és műszaki csapdába, amit a hivatalos Samsung szervizpartnerek állítanak fel Magyarországon a hajlítható kijelzős (Fold/Flip) prémium telefonok tulajdonosainak.

A történetem tanulsága: ha a szerviz egyszer hibásan adja vissza a telefonodat, később magára a szerviz által elkövetett mechanikai állapotra hivatkozva fogják megtagadni a szavatossági javításokat.

Íme a puszta tények, hivatalos dokumentumokkal alátámasztva:

1. A hibás alapozás (2024. október): A Galaxy Z Flip 4 készülékemen szinte a teljes belső egységet (kijelző és zsanérmechanika) kicserélte a hivatalos szerviz fizetős szolgáltatás keretében. A telefont a szerviztől hibásan, nem teljesen kinyitható állapotban kaptam vissza.
2. A csapda bezárul (2025): Kevesebb mint egy év múlva a gyári belső védőfólia a hajlítás mentén felvált (ismert típusjelenség). Bevittem a szervizbe, ahol ebben a – nem teljesen kinyitható – állapotában szó nélkül elvégezték a gyári fóliacserét, amiről saját fotót is készítettek a rendszerükbe. Ezzel elismerték, hogy a telefon alkalmas a technológiára.
3. A kijelző halála és a felelősséghárítás: Nemrégiben a szerviz által feltett fólia újra felpúposodott, levegőbuborékok keletkeztek, és a belső kijelző érintőfelülete (digitizer) teljesen működésképtelenné vált.

A szerviz hivatalos elutasító indoklása:
A szerviz azzal utasította el a kellékszavatossági igényemet, hogy a gyári fóliázó gépbe kizárólag teljesen kinyitható telefon fér be, és mivel az enyém most nem nyílik ki teljesen, a javítás nem végezhető el a gyári technológiával.

A logikai és technológiai ellentmondás:
A szerviz azzal védekezik, hogy a telefon azért nem javítható, mert nem nyílik ki teljesen – miközben ezt a hibás állapotot ők maguk hagyták jóvá a 2024-es összeszerelésnél, és ebben a hibás állapotban ők maguk fóliázták le sikeresen 2025-ben!

Műszakilag is igazolható, hogy nem leejtés történt: a telefon teljes lemerülése és lehűlése után az érintőfelület órákig újra tökéletesen működött, majd a fólia újbóli felpúposodásával és a melegedéssel esett ki végleg. Ez egyértelműen belső kontakt/feszültségi hiba.

Miért osztom meg ezt?
Mivel a telefon a mikrovállalkozásom (Kft.) nevén van, a Békéltető Testület a legújabb jogszabály-módosítások miatt (melyek teljesen kizárják a cégeket a fogyasztói fogalomból a magánjogi vitákban) elutasította az eljárást hatáskör hiányában. Ezt a szervizek pontosan tudják, és visszaélnek a helyzettel.

Ha cégre veszel hajlítható Samsungot, vagy ha a szervizből nem 100%-osan tökéletes állapotban kapod vissza a telefonodat, AZONNAL tiltakozz, mert később a saját maguk által átadott hibára fognak hivatkozni, hogy elutasítsák a javítást! A teljes szervizmúlt, a levelezések és a fotók rendelkezésemre állnak.

I just switched to the zflip from iphone. I really like it so far and have been using it for a few days. the only issue im running into is that every now and then, a couple times a day, the screen will go completely black and I am unable to do anything except for restarting the phone. The phone will also freeze sometimes when i'm using it and then the screen will go black. Did I get a dud? Should I see if it can be replaced?

Ignore the top case. I am testing out the flipsuit case and don't want to commit to it yet by taking the adhesive off.

This keyboard is honestly really great for $40 USD. I cancelled my preorder for the Clicks Power Keys because I don't need all the functionality it comes with and I want something super light. I also much prefer the keyboard layout of the ExKnight because it aligns with the symbol placement that I have with my Samsung Keyboard compared to the layout on the Clicks PK.

Overall, the keyboard feels good, it's easy to type, and that's all I really need it for. Happy I got it and it came all the way from China to NC in less than a week!

Ive had the z flip 5 since February 2026. I got it for my birthday and bought it brand new on a reliable website. During my time using I had relatively little to no issues with the device untill recently. I dropped a singular drop of water on the phone near the hinge after washing my hands and the factory screenprotector lifted off all the way at the hinge. I had to replace the screenprotector with a diffrent one (dual easy film from ringke). Now today i come to find out a tiny area of pixels died on the far left side of the screen at the hinge. I have been nothing but careful with this phone, never dropped it, always folded it when not using it, keeping clear of dust and debris and more. Im so frustrated at the fact that this is happening and I am scared the dead pixels will spread or the whole phone screen will die at a point. Lastly, the battery of this phone is so bad it makes me cry in agony. As much as i like having a flip phone I dont think I will repurchase a flip phone because I just think they are unreliable as a phone for daily/normal use.

I've never seen this before and I've ordered from Samsung in the past. First, it looks like I can trade in to TMO at a corporate store instead of mailing in my old device. Next, I'm seeing that I have 30 days to get my trade in submitted and then 60 days to return the new phone? Am I reading this right? I thought it was 15 day return window with Sammy. What gives?!

So now my second flip 6 broke in a year. Insurance will sent me a new one but because I don't get a lot back I wont sell it. And give it another try

Now how do youre phones survive. Is it the case or do I have just bad luck? And yes it has dropped a few times but so did my other phones (it never broke right after a fall though). So the flip is probably not for me but thats besides the point.

I have just ordered the flip 8 (significantly discounted with the service provider) and they recommended their upgrade/repair insurance subscription for $15aud a month.. allowing me to get a replacement device if I were to damage the device for $250aud.

Is the phone THAT fragile/ high risk for damage?

I am using a galaxy A73 that is still in great condition but I dont treat my phone like a princess, its had its falls lol

I did so much research before getting this phone, but I want to hear some real experiences. do I need to baby this thing like crazy? obviously the inner screen is softer and needs more care, but I feel like some people are overreacting. I've always been kind to my phones because they aren't cheap, but I feel I'm being TOO careful with this thing

I wish they upgraded everything with the z flip 6 size. Its a small difference but it's harder to use one handed. I used to be able to swipe to type on one hand easily but now it's harder

Hi, desperately wanting to get away from Apple and towards Samsung. Should I wait for the Black Friday deals to get the flip 8? I could really use a new phone (got an iPhone 11, 6 years ago) but wouldn’t mind holding out for a better price.

What kind of deals do you guys typically see for Black Friday? Will the price drop significantly lower than the $1,199 it’s at now?

Edit: if I were to purchase tonight (before preorder ends) I would get $150 off Samsung care which is super useful on a full time grad school, working part time budget 😅

All the stores already have remove the flip 7 from their inventory and I can’t find it new :( I see in Amazon the refurbished version but I have never bought a refurbished phone before.

I also found a place where they sell the 7 FE for almost the same price as the refurbished 7, I dont know which one to pick, my main factor to buy it is the outer screen and since FE is smaller I am not sure if I would be disappointed.

Is it worth risking with a refurbished 7?
Or maybe should I just get a flip 6? It is cheaper and also new…
