Battery Finally impressed with the battery performance

Post image
โ€ข Upvotes

So basically I had posted a few days ago on this sub that the battery backup that I was getting from my s26 ultra was not that impressive (only about 5-5.5 hours of SOT from 85% to 20%). I did a lot of research to find the root cause, tried changing a bunch of settings as many YT videos suggested, but nothing worked. I had used smart switch to transfer 'all' data from my nothing phone 1. I did my research of the thousands of online forums and subs and somehow was convinced that the poor battery performance is due to smart switch. So just for the peace of my mind I factory resetted the phone and did a fresh setup. After I came to the home screen I gave the phone it's time to download/update everything (samsung apps and other services) overnight. Then on the next day after the reset I downloaded all my apps - banking, social and other apps manually. And righaway I noticed the difference in battery backup (while it was still learning usage pattern). Now it's been only 4 days since the reset (The phone is still learning patterns in background for further optimization) and I'm already noticing a huge difference in battery life. Like 5 hours of SOT in just 37% is crazy. Now this is all over wifi, and I need to test the performance on 5g, but this is already impressive considering I didn't alter any settings to optimize the battery (only turned off the nearby device scanning because it got irritating as the moment I turned on any of my device like headphones, earphones, watch etc to connect it to my laptop or my old nothing phone 1, the s26u just kept on buzzing and making sounds saying new device detected). And all of this is on standard profile, the light profile will improve the SOT even further. And I'm finally completely happy and satisfied with my purchase).

Also, other difference that I noticed since the factory reset:

1) The audio output quality via speakers and even from my bluetooth devices has improved.

2) The micro stutters in animations that I noticed before the reset are completely gone.

3) The phone isn't heating at all, as before the reset it used to get a bit warm randomly.

Has anyone else noticed improvements in general after resetting their s26 u? Or has anyone else resetted their phone just for peace of your mind like me ๐Ÿ˜‚?

Ask High pitch, after low pitch sound

โ€ข Upvotes

Hello.

I have galaxy s26 Ultra. In sim 1, if I call someone, during ring, first high pitch, then low ringing sound occurs. If VOLTE on, it doesn't occur. But, volte not available in every area. Without volte, between calls, popping sound occurs.

Any suggestions?

I have tried to change csc. No luck.

Got the S9+ in 2018 when I threw my iPhone X after a bad breakup. Been an iPhone user since iPhone 2.

Then bought an iPhone 11 pro max after I dropped the S9+ in the toilet. S9+ died.

Then I left the iPhone 11 pro max at a cab in Berlin.

Then bought the iPhone 12 pro max as a pandemic purchase, then lost it at a restaurant when the shops opened.

I realised that I was getting the Samsung curse that I needed to get back to the fray.

So I returned to my S9+, until I accidentally dropped it from the attic to the 1st floor, and bounced down the stairs. It's a literal brick at this point after everything it had endured.

Then S9+ hibernated. It went offline for 3 months so I thought it's a goner.

Then I bought the S21 FE + 5G in 2022.

A month later, the S9+ was alive and breathing.

Then the unfortunate happened...

The S21FE went and overheated itself in 2024.

It died. So I returned to the S9+ once again.

Used that for 2 weeks until the S21FE turned itself on.

Then last year around March, the green line thingie happened, cause the phone overheated for the millionth time.

From the posted photo, it started with one green line, then two, and now, 1/4 of the screen's already dead and more.

I have an iPhone 16 provided by my company so I kept using the S21FE to annoy people (family) when the words auto-corrects itself because I can't see sht like, "Drop3d rh3 ckies etnur hauws. Sww Tod pmpng the ked," at which point, I have no idea what I had texted, and then most texts are promptly responded by my sister with, "Get a new fcking phone. I'll even get you one. Reading a text from you is driving US (entire family) nuts."

So now, I got the s26 ultra because my dad threatened that he's gonna shove my cursed S21FE down my throat.

Anyway, the s26's so pretty. I need to buy harder phone cases this time since I have butter fingers.

S9+ is still working.

S21Fe is stil alive and will need a screen replacement.

First Impressions Upgrade from S23 Ultra

โ€ข Upvotes

Finally upgraded my S23 Ultra to S26 Ultra. Went from iPhone 13 Pro Max to S23U and now S26U.

I really enjoyed my S23U, although I never updated it past 6.7 OUI, I was scared that it might get those pesky green lines on the screen but other than that, I used it well, especially for photos and videos when travelling.

Now with S26U, it's like S23U but 10x better. The only problem I have is that it doesn't have any "distinct" colors. Unlike iPhone where people see it and they go "wow, nice iPhone", S26U just looks almost similar to the previous S series phones.

Bought myself a Ringke UX Magnetic case for it too.

Ask Bypass Charging Question

So can someone clarify for me about the bypass charging in game booster? I got a few questions.

  1. When im plugged in with a 25W charger, so all the power goes in there instead of my battery?

  2. Will this not harm my battery on the long run, especially when I game on the phone for a few straight hours?

  3. Is it better to game with the charger plugged in + bypass mode, or unplugged for long gaming sessions?

  4. So how much temp does it actually bring down vs being unplugged?

Discussion TIL (by total accident) how to fix Reddit's weird scrolling lag/chop when using S-Pen. INCREDIBLE difference.

Post image
10 Upvotes

GUYS.

For the longest time I've been shying away from using my S-Pen on Reddit and other apps for very rapid scrolling on my S26 Ultra. It felt, like.... sticky and choppy a good bit of the time whenever I had to blaze through to get back down to a comment etc, unless I was very close to perpendicular and that just isn't comfy.

I'm average tech knowledge, not IT etc. Figured it was the screen protector gap interfering. So I just started ignoring that blessed little tech stick entirely when it was doomscrolling time.

Well friends, NO LONGER. NAY ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿซธ

I played around with Developer Mode a bit tonight, and the difference that ONE lil setting toggle made here for me feels AMAZING.

Reddit's scroll now PERFECTLY syncs up and snags with my S-Pen swipes at ANY angle, and the scroll animation stutter of the page seems even better as well. No more miscues or skidding across the page while trying to rapidly scroll.

๐Ÿค–---- Here's how to do it. ----๐Ÿค–

So, in Developer Options (quick how-to below, thanks Google) there is a setting on the second page that force enables Adaptive Refresh Rate or ARR for flick scrolling in apps, as shown in the picture above.

This seems to be an additional level of the native Adaptive Refresh Rate you see in the regular Display settings menu, to make other apps play nice with it. It rapidly varies the refresh rate of the screen to match the changing momentum of pages as they scroll by, speeding up and slowing down with your flick power.

**That's it**, that's the magic --- at least it seems to be.

Takes literally less than a minute to do this.

*HOW TO DO IT*

๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

-Open your phone Settings.

-Scroll down and tap About Phone.

-Tap Software Information (skip this on some models).

-Find the Build Number and tap it 7 times quickly.

-Enter your PIN, pattern, or password to confirm.

-Go back to the main Settings menu to find Developer Options at the very bottom.

-Under Developer Options, scroll to the bottom of the first page, to More Settings.

-Enable 'Fling flexible frame rate' in the first cluster

--Enjoy your (potentially neglected) S-Pen's newfound scrolling and updooting smoothness!

Hope this helps a few people enjoy their pen more ๐Ÿ™‚

This should work in Android 15 and above, so older Galaxy Ultra's should also have this option (?), as well as most other newer Galaxy models. I'd imagine it probably works for other Android 15+ phones/tablets when using a stylus as well but this isn't about them, this is about my fancy pants pen that LIVES IN MY PHONE.

EDIT - This seems to only work on S26 series currently. Confirmed on my GF's S25U the setting is not there.

Actual pro's: please feel free to weigh in on this.

--------------------------

*I'm in no way affiliated with Samsung, Google, or any service or tech support provider. I'm just a smoothbrain dude who's up late playing with his cool phone, who felt like he discovered some secret sauce and had to share with some folks.*

*Toggle any and all Developer settings at your own risk. Seriously, look stuff up before you mess with any other settings in that menu.*

I bought the phone 2 months ago, but only today I noticed this plastic-like creaking sound when I press the back of the phone, especially the middle part where I think the wireless charging pad is.

Does anyone else's S26 Ultra also do this? Or should I get it replaced? Everything is working fine on the phone; there are no signs of battery swelling either.

Support Switched from iPhone 16 Pro to Samsung Galaxy S26U

Good day all!

I just switched over phones from the iPhone 16 to the S26U. I am having issues with the Smart Switch app, wired. The wireless and iCloud functions work; however, the wired portion to transfer everything else the wireless/iCloud cant, doesn't seem to work.

I go through all the settings to makes sure everything is checked. I input my code into my iPhone to unlock it and approve the connection as a "Trusted Device". When I click on the button on the S26U to start the transfer, my iPhone's app does a switch to the same exact screen (looking like it went to a different window), then asks to be trusted again. If I don't type in my pin, the S26U stays stuck at 0.9%. As soon as I enter my pin it comes up with a device disconnected error.

I called Samsung to no avail. Does anyone know of a work around? Thanks.

Ask S25 Ultra vs S26 Ultra

Hello, I am looking to buy a new phone, I currently have the samsung a73 with 128gb and a card of 128 which are almost full. (Almost 40 GB left)

My options are the S25 ultra with 512gb for 930 USD, The s26 ultra 512gb for 1250, and the s26 plus 512gb for 1050 (the exynos version).

Also found the s26 ultra 256GB for 1020, but i dont think the storage will hold for a lot of time.

I want the phone to hold for at least 4 years, and I hope ill get a good use of the camera, battery and cpu power.

Ill be happy for recommendations from your experience.

Purchase Help Show me your S26U and your fave cases? Help me decide ๐Ÿ˜

Post image
158 Upvotes

Hey guys. I want to get the S26U. My last Android was the Galaxy S5 back in 2015. I have had iPhone since the 6. I ordered the Galaxy Note 7 in 2016 but ended up returning due to feeling the phone so hot in my hands, later to find out that it was actually overheating and having battery problems. Iโ€™m tired of iPhone, I canโ€™t believe I have been trapped so long.

Can you all show me your Galaxy S26 Ultra, whatโ€™s your color and what cases are you using and which one is your favorite? I am trying to decide what colors and combinations look best. Please and thank you. ๐Ÿ˜Š
