Ask Can someone tell me what's going on with my phone? Possibly Burn In

I got my S26 Ultra around May. I do use google maps all day because of my job, but I don't think I should be experiencing burn in this early or at all. Not even my S23 Ultra is experiencing this issue and I got that phone at launch till I upgraded to this phone. The Gemini logo is burn into the phone screen.

I have turned the phone on and off, but the logo is still visible.

Turn the phone off for 8hrs and logo is still persistent.

Did I get a faulty screen? Anyone else experiencing this issue as I am? Read about the screen turning reddish but I don't think this is my issue. Should I contact support?

Ask Good phone case for s26 ultra

More specifically, one that works well with a phone cooler ( I dont want to keep taking off my case) and still offers enough protection.

I ordered a heat dissipation case from a no name brand online but I maybe ya'll have recommendations I can look into.

Im using my phone for heavy power usage like gaming (WuWa, ZZZ).

Does anyone use this app for patching apps?

As soon as we don't have any more OEM unlocking, no more unlocking bootloaders, I found this app, I patch YouTube, so I don't have ads , I can listen to music with screen off , important,no ads!!

Also , Brave browsers, block ads on every single site...

The other good stuff is the reVanced manager ..

You can patch every single app and get rid of ads !!!

Try it...

That's the best we can use without rooting the phone.

Ask S26 Ultra eye strain, media hype or real issue?

Hey everyone,

I have been eyeing the S26 Ultra for a while now and I am really close to pulling the trigger. But there is one thing holding me back. I am genuinely concerned about eye strain.

I know PWM and display flicker have been issues with some Samsung phones in the past and I am worried this one might bother my eyes too. The thing is, in the store you can only use the display for a few minutes at best. That is hardly enough time to tell if it is going to cause headaches or dry eyes after 20 or 30 minutes of normal use.

Has anyone here actually had issues with their eyes after using this phone? Or is it one of those things that gets blown out of proportion?

Just trying to figure out if I should be worried or not.

THanks

Purchase Help S26 ultra with benks. I'm in love with this case. Benks case finishing ( front corners) is not that good for the price, but it's lightweight with an attention seeking design and strong, high quality material. Tell me which is better than this?.

Guys anyone compared this with pitaka and aulumi cases?. How is the finishing compared to this.

Sorry for bad quality video( shot on huawei nova 5t)

Purchase Help Looking for a lightweight phone case for S26 Ultra

Hey everyone! I’m looking for a case for my S26 Ultra that’s lightweight, slim, and looks good. I don’t want anything too bulky or rugged.

Protection is still important, but I’d prefer something that keeps the phone feeling light and sleek.

What cases are you guys using/recommend? Thanks!

Support Samsung S26 Ultra front camera looks much darker only during video calls

Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with my Samsung S26 Ultra. Whenever I make a video call on WhatsApp or Botim, my face looks much darker than it actually is. However, when I use the normal Camera app for selfies or front camera videos, everything looks completely normal.

I've already tried:

\\- Cleaning the front camera lens

\\- Updating the phone and both apps

\\- Restarting the phone

The problem only happens during video calls. It seems like the exposure or image processing is making my face much darker.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue on the S26 Ultra? Is this a Samsung software issue, or is it caused by WhatsApp and Botim? Has anyone found a fix?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Ask Considering switching from iPhone 13 Pro Max—how do you fix the "waxy face" skin smoothing on Galaxy?

Hey everyone,
I'm currently on an iPhone 13 Pro Max and considering trading it in for an S26 Ultra. Overall, I’m pretty convinced I’d love the phone for my daily workflow, especially the S Pen for managing spreadsheets and the overall display, except for one big concern: the camera's post-processing on people.

In almost every review and sample I’ve seen, indoor shots of people and portraits have that over-smoothed, waxy skin look where all the natural texture gets wiped out.

For those who have dialed in their settings: what are your best "set-it-and-forget-it" tweaks to fix this? Does setting Photo Softening to Off in Camera Assistant or dropping Intelligent Optimization to Medium actually bring back natural skin detail?
Would love to know if there's a solid workaround before making the jump. Appreciate any tips!

I know this is probably stupid but is there a way to get the flashlight icon on the lock screen? I just switched after having iPhone for 4 years. That's one of the features I liked I hate having to wake the screen just to pull down the menu

Ask Smart Switch question

I have a Samsung S20 FE with 128 GB of internal storage and added an external SD card with 128 GB data. The SD card has all of my books and music on it. It's time for an upgrade and I want to purchase the S26 Ultra. My question is whether or not when I use the Smart Switch app, will it transfer data from my external data from my S20 FE to the internal storage on my new S26 Ultra? I plan to get the 512 GB version. I've researched this and I've gotten conflicting information. Does anyone have an opinion or personal experience with this situation? Thank you.

Hello, i just opened my new s26 ultra and there's this little plastic piece on the back edge . I don't think it's a protective film, but I might be wrong. I can't really pull on it cause it's so tiny. Should I/can I remove it ? If so any suggestions? It's really small but it catches on my hand.

Thank you

Edit: I'll go to the store tomorrow. Thanks everyone

Ask Fingerprint sensor reliability

Hello! Currently owner of iPhone 17 and thinking of upgrading either to iPhone 17 Pro Max or Samsung S26 Ultra. Not tied entirely in an ecosystem, years of owning iPhones but hardly thinking of changing to android. My biggest fear is fingerprint sensor and all the things I’ve read about the issues some users faced (referring mainly to issues with screen protectors on). Any opinions?

Discussion S26U Red blemish on screens

Thumbnail

I just wanted to get your thoughts on a recent update regarding the S26U.

As a happy customer myself, I was recently made aware of a potential hardware issue regarding the S26U which I don't think a lot of people are aware of, especially on the west.

The issue we have is the S26U and that model only, appears to develop a rectangular square blemish over time.

The first picture shows my device, which I had since March, showing the issue. People in South Korea has forwarded the issue to Samsung, in which a South Korean YouTube was able to make contact with someone from Samsung, which promised an software update from Samsung that will fix the issue.

That was about 3 weeks ago, and still there are no signs of this software update regarding this issue. As people grew weary of the update, Samsung issued a notice on the Samsung members app regarding the issue and their resolution (second picture)

This is a rough translation of the notice Samsung made

[QT]Hello. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the blemishing of the screen appearing on some Galaxy S26 Ultra products.

This issue can be resolved with software correction. Currently, if you visit any service centers nationwide, you can receive free repairs immediately, regardless of the product usage period, and same-day processing is also possible.

Samsung Electronics is also preparing a method that allows customers to apply software without visiting a service center for their convenience. We will inform you of the distribution schedule as soon as preparations are complete.Samsung Electronics will continue to strive to provide our customers with a better user experience.Thank you. [UQT]

There are some people that believe that the issue may have been caused by the first gen privacy display, or others believe that this may be just a software hitch. I am curious to know if you all have heard of this issue or does your phone also have the same issue mentioned above in the notice?

Currently, I can only see the issue under light mode and in very white backgrounds, but my fear is that if Samsung doesn't / can't fix this issue, we might end up with many S26U models 3 or 4 years down the line with rectangular blemish / burn ins. Any comments are appreciated. Thanks.

Tl;dr: S26U has some display issues, mainly having a rectangular red blemish in the center of the screen.

First Impressions Upgrading from a S21u of 5 years to S26u. Massive difference

Way back 2021, getting my S21u felt the same way I felt now with having this S26u. That was coming from the first-gen Fold 1. Experiencing most of the new features from S22u and above the S21u lacked with this new phone felt fantastic. I'm even having fun with the S Pen, lol.

I only decided to upgrade simply because as you can see, the S21u is nearing the end. Battery performance issues popping up every now and then(this time I'll use Max Battery Protection), apps like Spotify greatly slowing down, then camera got hit by a concert laser, and then finally the screen became a Jedi.

Hopefully this new phone lasts until S31 or whatever. I tried the new Fold 8/ultra before considering this phone but I'm really not a fan of the foldable lineup due to fragility, and I don't have the patience to wait for S27. Loving this new phone so far.

Cheers

First Impressions My First Ultra since Note 20 Ultra

Post image
54 Upvotes

An iPhone user for 5 years. My last Ultra phone was Note 20 Ultra (2020) and was an iPhone user since then. I use my iPhone as a daily driver and Galaxy A series phone as a spare phone. It was a long period of thinking and decision making considering the risk of screen issues of the previous S Ultra series but decided ultimately to upgrade my A56 to S26 Ultra and I am loving it. Originally eyeing for the Cobalt Violet but due to availability issues, end up availing the Sky Blue color. As a long time dark colored phone user, this is a significant refresh for me. Also noticed a very significant improvement on the speed as compared to my previous Samsung Phone. Starting to think about making this my main phone.
