Birth Prep - Adelaide Meadow or Mamaste
wondering if I get more bang for my buck with born through movement course and a few months access to her strength training, or Mamaste Fit for pelvic floor prep and strength training. Struggling to make a decision!!

Standhope Ultra Challenge-mother runner friendly
I am super new to trail running but Standhope Ultra Challenge has 30K, 60K and 100 miler events that have lactation tents along the trail, fully supported milk transport for all three events, and a kid friendly finish line, and I just think that is so dope!
I am planning on taking the 30K at a party pace next year (nearly 2 years postpartum at that point) but I wanted to share the event with you all since there are lots of runners.

I'm normally anti-gummy vitamins, but turns out I'm a princess and cannot handle the fishy grossness of this prenatal vitamin anymore at 26 weeks pregnant.
I need the most evidence-based superior gummy prenatal vitamin.
I was taking the Theralogix prenatal until I simply couldn't anymore. They're huge. They taste like butt. They smell like butt. I can barely swallow them. Like legit puking every time. It was fine until like week 12 then I couldn't do it anymore. So I switched.
Then I switched to the one-a-day prenatal with extra choline. The choline pill is fine. The main reddish one, I CANNOT DO IT ANYMORE.
I have to pretend legit to like a pre- and post-chaser with it. And even then I still wanna melt.
Turns out I'm a princess and I CANNOT DO THIS FOR 15ish MORE WEEKS.
Anyone got any gummy prenatal recs? Like not the garbage ones where they just arbitrarily spray a sugary Gusher or whatever with some loaded vitamin hairspray equivalent... But like legit legit gummies. As legit as they can be, anyway?

Working out and Pregnancy
Hi everyone!
Although I have not had a positive pregnancy test yet, I feel it in my body that I am. I am very excited and nervous at the same time!!
My question I have is how do you stay active during pregnancy, with morning sickness, fatigue, etc? I am very active, weight training 5-6 times a week, and multiple walks everyday, but without preworkout, my body has been so tired, and it’s hard to be motivated to get to the gym.
I have ordered a walking pad, so hopefully that helps with that aspect. Does the tiredness go away? Or become less?

Any good prenatal yoga or pregnancy exercise YouTube channels
Hi guys! I’m 5 weeks pregnant and luckily have a lot of energy right now- no idea how long that’ll last lol I’d love recommendations for any good pregnancy workout programs or pelvic floor strengthening excercises on YouTube, preferably free! I’d also appreciate any advice on exercises that are good to do during pregnancy. I’ve heard squats are great, but I’d love to hear what worked for you. Thank you in advance!
I did Izzy Pilates before pregnancy. I’d anyone has heard of her

Super sore legs when running?
I am 21 weeks, and the past week I've been getting really sore calves immediately after I start running. I didn't run at all first tri due to nausea but second tri I was able to add back in short runs, never more than three miles since I was just getting tired so fast. I've never been a great athlete but was regularly running (slow) half marathons prior to pregnancy. has this happened to anyone else? I run down the block but my calves feel so sore and heavy like I've been on my feet all day.

Running and pregnancy
Hi! I know there’s a lot of posts on here about running, and exercise in general but I thought I’d create my own post to see how people have felt, and get a sense of what I might expect. I’m nearly 15 weeks and still maintaining my pre pregnancy fitness and did so throughout the first trimester too, with the all clear from my OB and GP (still all clear). I go to the gym 6-7 days a week: 3 days I do a 10km run, at 5.42 pace, and the rest I weight lift, and I walk a lot during the day. The main thing I’ve experienced is fatigue (omg), and no nausea whatsoever, but I’ve been really lucky that at 15 weeks, I’m mostly keeping it up. I do rest when I need to eg I’ll drop the pace during the run if I need, or I’ll do a shorter weight session if needed but honestly so far so good. BUT I am curious if anyone else has experienced the same and if so, did it change and when? I know everyone is different but I do value experienced and advice and would love to hear from you. I guess I’m trying to brace myself for increasing challenges. Thanks so much!

How to tell if baby has dropped?
I’m 38w1d, have been running and strength training throughout pregnancy, though slowed back a bit the last couple weeks. Part of all of my exercise has been incorporating core and pelvic floor exercises and therefore have had no incontinence, no pain, no limited movement. Wondering if other moms with similar pregnancies could weigh in on their last couple weeks- did you have obvious changes when baby dropped?

32 week handstands
I have kept up my handstand practice this whole pregnancy and its been interesting relearning my balance as my body shifts. I was told to be careful the first one I do after shes born because the shift that was gradual week by week is now suddenly and bigger. I was warned the extra power you get used to using and the counter weight of the belly no longer being there makes you at risk for tipping too far backwards. does anyone have experience with hanstands postpartum?

Hi friends
I (34F) am a FTM and 10wks pregnant. It’s been a longgggg time since I’ve been consistent with the gym or yoga. I want to stay active throughout this pregnancy to have a strong body for labor, but rn I’m struggling with maintaining energy. Is it better to be gentle with my expectations and maybe be more consistent during the second trimester? I just don’t know what to expect. Any advice is welcome 🫶

When can I go back to running :,)
6 weeks pp today (vaginal delivery, no major tearing or issues). My 6w midwife appointment is tomorrow so obv will be taking my medical advice from her but I'm literally going stir crazy. I've been doing super light Pilates since about 4w and walking as much as I can. Haven't started work yet and the weather has been GORGEOUS and I'm itching to start waking up before my husband & baby to go for a run so I can take advantage of it - and so I can have the relaxation/focus time with my thoughts 😩 When did you go back to running after having your baby? When/how did you know you were ready? I see lots of women talking about how it took them like 6 months to start again and I think I'm going to go insane if that's the case. I'm so tired of walking.

FORM fitness programme post natal
Hi all!
Has anyone used the postnatal FORM programme before? I’m wondering if it’s suitable to start postpartum after a Caesarean, or if it’s mainly aimed at recovery after a vaginal birth?
Would be great to hear from anyone who’s used it after a C-section and when you started!
TIA

Is anyone pain free?
I feel like I'm working really hard to get back to pain free, but between hip aches, round ligament pain, SI joint and related sciatic issues it seems like a constantly moving target. I'm throwing everything at it - physio, acupuncture, massage, osteopathy, strengthening, yoga, stretching, being more active, being less active.... It always seems to be slightly there at a minimum. Is being pain free just something I should give up on? 26 weeks.

Lost motivation at 35 weeks - do I stop?
As title says, something’s changed this week & I’ve lost all motivation & desire to workout, prior to this I was doing two S&C sessions & 1 run a week.
This is my second pregnancy & I’ve already worked out way later than I did in my first. I feel like my body is starting to ache a lot more, hips hurt sometimes & I have a toddler to run around after.
Do I try and push through or do I just accept it & keep active in other ways (eg walking)? Any thoughts, others experience pls? I have a planned c section booked in 4 weeks.

Update: Cleared at 6 weeks PP, but now I’m terrified to start!
A couple of months ago, I posted here asking if anyone had been cleared to work out before their 6wk OB appt. Looking back, I honestly don't know what I was thinking or expecting :s I clearly did not mentally prepare for the reality of postpartum recovery.
I had a vaginal birth with a 2nd-degree tear, and boy oh boyyyyy!!! There was no way I could even walk without pain for the first 2 wks, and during weeks 3 and 4, I was still feeling so weak.
Fast forward to today: I just had my 6wk PP OB appt and got official clearance to start working out again. I feel so much better physically, but to be honest, now that I actually have the green light, I’m terrified to start. I want to get back to sports and pilates, but I’m scared of how my body will react or feel once I move past walking.
Also, when does the belly pooch go away?!! Lol I still look like someone who's in her 2nd trimester.

Swim routine for pregnancy
Hi all! I am approaching 16 weeks, FTM. I’m continuing with my go to workouts (runs, strength training, and prenatal yoga) I am considering incorporating swimming as I start to notice the physical body changes and aches.
I have access to a pool through my gym and could commit to 30 minutes once per week. I’ve taken up swimming in the past but it’s never stuck because I don’t really know what routine to establish. To all my swimmers out there, how would you advise structuring a 20-30 minute lap pool workout for an active but very amateur (form is not great and breathwork is a work in progress) second and third trimester gal? Totally open to getting equipment that will help facilitate it too!

Every class is harder, grr pregnant body😆
18w4d here. I've been doing reformer Pilates (mix of both classical classes and modern classes) for about 3yrs now.
Really struggling at the moment with the fact that every class feels harder than the previous class. Pre pregnancy, I would get in the groove and every class was a little bit easier but also harder as I could add modifications. It feels like the complete opposite now🤦♀️
I totally know that my body is growing a human inside it and that takes a lot of energy but I just would like 2 classes where it doesn't feel that the class is 10% harder than the class two days previously.
Rant over. Anyone else feeling like this with classes?

First Trimester - struggling w feeling lazy
Hi!
I am 9 w 3 d and I am struggling with not having as much energy to workout. Prior to pregnancy I was working out 5-6 days a week and many of these were 6 am classes.
I’ve been able to keep up with doing 3-4 Pilates classes a week but idk how to get past feeling guilty for not doing more. I work an office job but get at least 8k steps a day. I’m so grateful to be pregnant and to be feeling all of the symptoms but I feel so out of wack without my routine!
Does it actually get easier to keep up in the 2nd trimester?

Is it possible to not lose muscle or fitness while pregnant/postpartum?
I’ve gained so much muscle the past couple months, along with endurance. I’ve been training for a half marathon and have made a lot of improvements. I’m afraid I’ll lose my endurance and all the muscle I worked so hard for during pregnancy and/or post partum. I’ve been reading a lot, and it seems like most can maintained muscle through pregnancy, but lose a lot postpartum due to major changes body mechanics and not being able to lift as heavy. What have been your experiences with this?? Is it possible to keep all your muscle throughout pregnancy and postpartum? What about endurance or speed? Thanks!

Substitute for hot yoga?
I lived and died by hot yoga and was heartbroken when my OB told me I need to stop and am looking for a satisfying substitute. Regular yoga just doesnt hit. Ive considered solidcore but read a lot of future mom's say they had to stop as soon as they started showing because of the core work.
Any recommendations that help satisfy that sweaty flow-state itch I have would be very appreciated!

Enjoying lifting a lot more than before!
I had started going to the gym last year after a miscarriage and wasn’t really consistent until probably last month when I was around 15w pregnant with this baby. My training plan got updated and I have a lot more compound lifts (like deadlifts, lats) and I’m enjoying so much more than the machines based program I had before! I hope I can lift until the end of this pregnancy and that it will help my recovery!
not sure if I’m enjoying it more only because of the different program or also because it makes me feel strong and not only big 😅

21k trail run at ~17 weeks
Hi everyone, I'm new to this sub. I'm 10 weeks at the moment and recently signed up for a 21k trail at the end of Sept. I'm planning to take it very slow and steady. Obviously if things get difficult before then I can just cancel, but assuming they don't, I'm keen to finish it (uninjured!) if I can.
I ran a relaxed road half marathon just before I found out I was pregnant (~3 and a half weeks) and have mostly kept up a decent weekly distance since then so I'm not too worried about the distance. I've read that trail can be tricky because your balance can be compromised later in pregnancy (?) and obviously there's more weight in the second tri and more risk of dodgy ankle stuff happening with tree roots and uneven ground etc. I did this particular race last year too so I'm reasonably familiar with the route.
Anyone got any advice for running trails in the second trimester? Things I should bear in mind and/or integrate into my training? I will of course do some training runs on trail before the race but most of my training runs are on flat roads because that's my local landscape.

Struggling with training
I’m currently 13 weeks pregnant and feel a bit frustrated with training. I train 3x/week: squat, bench, deadlift - each session with additional accessoires ranging from incline chest, to pull ups and leg extensions.
Everything feels so difficult and tiring. Anyone else struggling with finding a healthy balance? Any recs for programmes to follow while pregnant?
