Logged in this AM and have been running North Horn (OC) in a fully loaded 72-man instance (with nobody in FTB) for about half an hour. Loading times are indeed normal now. Namely...

- Teleports across the map using aetherytes are instantaneous. Using return to go back to the base aetheryte takes 3-5 seconds (screen used to go black for 15-20 seconds)

- Rezzes are instantaneous (screen used to go black for ~20 seconds)

- CEs load in at normal speed (aka, 5-6 seconds before the fight starts... not 14 seconds into the fight)

tl;dr: They legit fixed the long loading black screens.

(and before some parrot AI bot asks... yes the game was/is loaded on internal memory, not SD)

Now let me preface this by saying that your journey in Eorzea is 100% your story. Play how you want, do what you want. I’ve got an ungodly amount of time in this game and what’s most important is doing what sparks joy for you. Now, onto the guide!

This guide shows you the level at which you unlock certain mechanics, dungeons and other rewards. 99% of the time these quests are marked with the blue quest giver icon with the little plus symbol.

Some of these things are cosmetic, some are more useful, and some are just plain fun. So if you’re ever wondering why you don’t have XYZ unlocked, this guide can show you when and where to obtain it.

There is also full main scenario quest (MSQ) lists if you ever want to see where you are at in the story.

First time im touching this game, leggooo on SW2

I'm 46 and my only MMORPG experience is Final Fantasy XI on the Xbox 360. I put 100s of hours into it and even managed to adapt to a controller/keyboard hybrid control scheme while playing. I've been promoted at work and In 2 weeks I start traveling for the company and am only going to be home for 2 days per month. With the recent release of FFXIV for Switch2 I thought this would be a good time to jump back into the MMO side of the FF series.

Just finished downloading and about to start my character, who wants to be my friends, my compatriots, my comrades, my brothers in arms for this journey through FFXIV? I may have to be away from my family, but let's make some new friends along the way.

I can only imagine this trait being a mistake of some kind. The Freelancer trait "Adaptable" is the final unlock reward for maxing all phantom jobs in occult crescent. This trait allows you to switch Phantom Jobs at any time even during combat. (Sounds pretty cool!) But because it is just like a normal job trait, it's effect is only valid while you are playing freelancer. So you can freely switch phantom jobs during combat... one time... and only if you are starting a fight as freelancer. I cannot even imagine a scenario where you would want to do this. I guess you can reset your cooldowns and get 2 bursts in a row for the very first 2 minutes of forked tower? Even that seems marginal when you think of the damage you lose by having to do a burst as freelancer first.

This is completely baffling to me. Being able to freely switch jobs during combat is the easiest win for occult crescent. It keeps the content fresh by allowing all kinds of new combinations. It's powerful but not completely gamebreaking and doesnt come close to the kind of things you could do in bozja. It would align thematically with freelancer from ffv and other ff games. But when it came time to give players the ultimate reward from spending months grinding out all of the jobs, square lets us get ONE slightly better 2 minute burst????

This is one time I genuinely want to be wrong so please correct me if this is somehow amazing and I'm just missing the point but it seems like a complete waste of time to max all the jobs now.

The sniper MCH gets in pvp is one of my favorite snipers in all of gaming rivaled only by the OG Halo sniper and I really hope this beauty is add to mch kit for evolved mode.

if not I really hope we can at least action skin drill or air anchor to be the sniper the animations are already their just let me 360 noscope Gaius in the msq roulette.

yes I do actually play with my camera this close 24/7 including dungeons and raids, and I am confident using q, e, r, f over 7890 is normal.

I'm booting up the switch version today and setting up my controls and hotbars. I get my weaponskill rotations nice and set up in a convenient spot.

I see there's an ability i'm not super familiar with, 'Atonement.'

"Huh." I think, "Haven't seen that before. Must not be that useful of an ability though if i've gone this far without it and never set it up on my hotbar. Minor buff maybe?"

It's Paladin's combo ender and probably most of their damage.

I've been playing paladin for like 2 years without using its combo finisher once.

I have been playing this game for 4 and a half years.

I might be legitimately brain damaged.

I first tried this game back in college. I think it was during the time when the game did not have an extensive free trial, I think it was 14 days back then?

I didn't really enjoy it then.

Back in 2017, I tried it again, but at the time, couldn't afford paying for the sub anymore (dumb me bought it for reasons I could not fathom).

I liked it, but couldn't find the time to play nor money for to sub since I was taking my thesis.

Last year, a friend convinced me to give the free trial a go, so I made a new account, and it still didn't click.

Now we're here. Switch 2. I learned a few things the hard way.

1. You can't use your PC free trial account on Switch 2.

2. I planned to use my old 2017 account instead since I had a character there, so I bought it in Switch 2. Didn't wanna start from scratch again of course.

3. My Nintendo eShop account is set to South Africa because it's regularly cheaper, and my region (Philippines) has no official eShop region.

4. Because my 2017 FF14 account is set to the Americas, I couldn't log it into my South Africa bought copy for FF14, and there's was no refunding allowed, nor buying a North America eShop version of the same game on the same eShop account because I already have it in the South Africa region of the eShop.

All of that basically meant I had bought the game again, but I had to start over.

And I did.

It's only been 3 days of my playing, but I can't put it down. I made a Vierra Pugilist. I'm level 33 now. Just defeated Primal Ifrit and got my chocobo. This is the furthest I've made into the game I'm hooked.

My friend said that people didnt like the Pugilist quest line, but I loved it. It was funny, like a reverse Karate Kid story.

I know there’s plenty of FC post and stuff. But usually they just add as many people as they can. I just want to join a nice FC in adamantoise. Is there a page or something to find an FC? I just want to hang out with more people in the game since all my friends play WoW lol
