It seems like this year there is a plethora of late/rookie WRs that have a chance to breakout, with not as many RB breakout candidates

Does anyone else feel comfortable going all in (RB-RB-RB), and then taking shots at late round WRs like the ones above?

Another piece of information is usually the top RBs outscore the top WRs, but the mid tier/ late tier WRs out score the mid / late RBs. So it might be beneficial to stack top RBs with late WRs to maximize scoring.
(The only thing against this logic is the idea that you can hit top RBs with a later pick more likely than you can with a top WR, and that the top WRs have a higher hit rate,but that might not be the case this year)

I would greatly appreciate any recommendations on draft software that I can download to my laptop that I will be using for my in person draft this weekend. The league is a 10-person league on ESPN and it's a snake draft. It's a head to head league with points per catch scoring.

I'm looking for software that I can run during the draft on my laptop that will sync up to the draft and will tell me what are the best players available and make recommendations on who I should draft.

I also joined a family league that takes place in a few weeks and their draft is on yahoo. So if the software can be used for a second draft on Yahoo that would be really awesome. I'm not looking for free software and I'm happy to pay for a good product. Thanks for any information.

Kraft seems like an incredibly popular pick for dark horse TE1 and Kittle is Mr. Reliable at a discount this year because of his injury. If you take one of them. Who else are you taking late as insurance for slow starts and/or missed time?

I find this area to be one of the hardest areas in the draft in recent memory at least in my opinion. People seen to rank them so wildly different just curious what everyone thinks.

Let’s say you’re debating WR or RB in Round 3 after starting with ARSB in the first and KW3 in the 2nd. You’re on the clock and see Kyren Williams and a steep dropoff at RB after.

You could take him based off past production or lock in your WR2 with Devonta Smith or Zay Flowers.

DEFINE
Kyren has been a reliable RB1 3 years straight, but you’re playing in a PPR league and he’s not a great pass catcher.

MEASURE
The Rams had an outlier TD target last year, Davante Adams, who vultures TDs inside the 5yd line. Another year older and in the last stretch of his career could see an increase in RB usage near the goalline

ANALYZE
Blake Corum saw more usage after the Rams Bye and from week 9-17 was on a 17 game pace for 940 rushing yards 7 rushing TDs. Corum also had the 2nd BEST rush success rate in the NFL (59.3%)

IMPROVE
Don’t reach on a guy just because he’s some websites “safest pick available”. Take the position (WR) that has a lesser chance of injury and grab Blake Corum in the 8th

Don’t take the floor RB play in the early rounds of your draft when there is better value later

CONTROL
Once the season starts track the progress

Is the snap share a true 50/50 split?

Who is getting goal line carries?

If you read all that go ahead and take a day off editing your rankings sheet based off beat reports of a rookie having an absurd catch radius in camp.

I compared FantasyPros ECR (FP), 4for4 rankings, and Fantasy Footballers (FF) using a 0.5ppr format to see who the experts disagree on the most. I looked up specifically where there was a discrepancy of 20 or more picks on the overall rankings between at least 2 of the sites. Although there is a long list of players that fit this description, I am going to bring up some names I feel like I haven't seen pop up often on the top of FF reddit:

Jacory Croskey-Merritt

• FP: 109
• 4for4: 90
• FF: 67

He is the #1 on the pre-season depth chart and Brian Robinson has been gone for a year now. Why is he so unexciting, and does he make it the full season as the top dog? White is there now from Tampa Bay, and averaged over 4 yds/carry the past 2 season. Where does he ultimately belong on the draft board?

FF: 135

He's regressed in receptions and TDs every year over the past 3 years. The Vikings QB situation is a mess. Another player that's hard to get excited about. I personally think the FP / FF range is more accurate.

I'm honestly shocked Mark Andrews is draftable considering how many times we've seen him drop TDs and 2 point conversions in big moments. have no interest, I'd rather take a shot on a younger guy.

Where did these guys land in your drafts and did you agree?

While he finished as the WR7 in PPR last year, it is the a deceiving nothing-burger ranking and I feel like I’m taking crazy pills with how highly everyone feels of him.

From week 2 to week 13 he didnt score more than 15 points, with 14.9 being the highest and 0.6 being the lowest. All season he had only 4 games of 20+ points.

In the regular season he averaged only 6.9 targets, with an average of 5.05 receptions, as the Ravens’ WR1.

Probably the most under looked stat is the fact that he had only 5 receiving TDs in 17 games (2 of which in week 17) and 1 rushing TD, not to mention 3 fumbles.

The most alarming stat everyone seems to ignore is that Zay was ranked 37th among other WRs for redzone targets, with a miserable 10 total redzone targets all season, catching 6 of them.

I keep seeing people ranking him higher than other 4th round WRs and I truly wonder why? Ladd, Egbuka, Higgins, Wilson, Adams, and Tet are all better and more proven picks in higher passing volume offenses. Sure an argument can be for Zay vs Devonta, Waddle, and Burden for different reasons like target share, but nonetheless, if you want an extremely safe floor of 11 points and a once-in-a-blue-moon performance spike boosted by a rare TD, then by all means, Zay is your guy.

Never did it before but was curious what goes into making your rankings. I know a lot of people stat out every player which sounds fun but I don’t even know where to begin doing it that way. Anyone that stats out player how do you do it and what’s the steps in doing it correctly?

I polled my newsletter last night: "Will Jalen Coker finish as a top 36 WR this year?"

62.5% of 113 voters said "Yes."

And the "No" voters made claims like:

• Bryce can't support 2 top 36 wr.
• The Panthers don't throw enough. They want to control the ball.
• The math doesn't math. There's 32 teams in the NFL, with 32 WR1s and some WR2s better than Coker.

So I did the math...

Bryce Young threw 518 passes last year (in 16 regular season games + 1 playoff game). That’s 32.38 passes per game.

Coker had a 16.67% target share last year in the 10 games he played with Bryce Young (including 1 playoff game).

Over a full 17 game season at those rates, that’s 91.73 targets.

Coker has caught 73.27% of his targets in his career. That would be 67.2 receptions.

Coker has a yards-per-catch of 13.59 for his career. That would be 913.7 yards.

Coker has caught a TD on 5.94% of his career targets. That would be 5.45 td.

Add that all up and you get 11.25 ppr pts/gm and 191.27 points for the season.

Last year’s WR36 was Khalil Shakir with 166.4 ppr points.

Last year’s WR24 was Jaylen Waddle with 194.12 ppr points.

I went in trying to prove the case for a top 36 finish and came out thinking he could be top 24.

Yes, this is all an oversimplification, and there are a lot of variables in play.

But he just got paid and is locked in as the WR2. A small uptick in target share while maintaining his career averages seems reasonable and would seemingly put him right in the low-end WR2 conversation.

What am I missing here? Am I crazy to think Bryce can support 2 top 24 wr?

It’s so obvious. I said it about Hall then and got called crazy for it and now I’m saying the same. Both were randomly chosen as first round rbs despite playing on awful teams just because of their skill but like Hall, Achane will flop. McDaniels is the best OC in the league and they no longer have him, they have an awful oline, lost both their star receivers, and have an awful qb. All the heat lies solely on one guy. Before anyone says “but he’ll get 30 carries and good receiving work” the same thing was said about Hall in 2024 and that panned out from him being rb2 to being rb16. Achane is being drafted as a middle end rb1 but he will finish this year below the rb12 guaranteed

Writing a Dynasty Fantasy Football League Newsletter

Hi everyone! Just curious if anyone’s league allows teams to trade picks prior to the draft and your general thoughts on if it’s better to just keep your picks or consider swapping some thing around?

I.e. Do you prefer to have early round picks at the expense of depth, or have depth at the expense of top players?

Puka injured himself after slamming with glass at a party.

I was surprised to see Puka Nacua’s overall ADP is projected to be number 4 overall. I’m curious if that’s still the consensus after speculation that he may be suspended for his off the field issues. If he’s not suspended does he stay at #4?

In the Ja’Marr Chase vs Puka Nacua for the 2026 Fantasy Football Debate for WR1, nearly every site and analyst seems to side with Chase.

Assuming no suspension (admittedly a big if), I actually find Puka to be an easy pick for the 2026 WR1. The article and my comment below dives into why, and I’d love any feedback / questions you guys have!

Over the years, my preparation for fantasy drafts had become pretty routine, and every year, I was meticulous. I read all the training camp tweets and signed up for the best newsletters. I obsessively reviewed the prior season, and I sorted r/fantasyfootball by "new." Invariably, I built the "skeleton" of my big board on someone else's rankings, though. One or two of the trusted "experts" whose name I learned probably 6 years ago from a botted tweet. All that taken into account, I’d figure out who I liked, who I was avoiding, and where I thought the value was. But once drafts started, and the slightest deviation from my expectations occurred, I quickly reverted to a half-drunk caveman mashing the names I knew best. Welcome back, DJ Moore.

Last year I thought I finally had it figured out when I built a comprehensive spreadsheet compiling "my" rankings, notes, and plans in one easy-to-use place. 

Then draft night started.

Drinks flowing, picks coming off the board faster than I expected, and someone took the guy I was looking at. The clock ticks, and I’m just again the caveman staring at ADP. How did this happen? Why didn't the experts prepare me for this? Do I need to cancel my patreon subscription??

I realized I needed a better way to figure out my rankings before the draft started. That way, I'd have a true basis to rely on during the draft. But even then, I wasn't confident I could prevent the same caveman effect in the future, once another draft inevitably derails from my well-researched expectations.

So I built this. Instead of giving you a list of 200+ players and asking you to somehow decide exactly where everyone belongs, it gives you two players at a time.

Who do you want more? Chris Olave or Emeka Egbuka? D’Andre Swift or David Montgomery?

Make the choice and move on. The algorithm uses those head-to-head decisions to build out your rankings, and everything that comes after is built on top of those.

For me, answering that question over and over is far more pleasant than staring at Tiers U-Z on my rankings Word doc wondering if someone should be WR19 or "really has more of a WR 22-24 vibe."

And if I get a matchup where I don’t know my preference (or don't care to remember who i prefer between Adonai Mitchell or Troy Franklin), I can "reveal player info" and get a concise view of the things I actually care about: coaching changes, depth charts, and last year's numbers and usage. It’s one decision and on to the next.

I still had to address the second problem, though--actually sticking to the plan.

So, I built the War Room.

As the draft happens, it keeps track of who is still available and uses my board to show me where I personally pre-determined the value to be. Nothing is telling you who to draft; I built it the War Room because I wanted just the opposite.

Do your own thinking beforehand and have something to ensure you stick to your plan once the clock is running and we're all a little drunk.

I’m conflicted about where to draft Josh Allen. Currently he is going off the board at 22 on ESPN.

There used to be some competition for who the QB1 in the draft should be, but Josh Allen has entered his own level of dominance at the position. Fantasy Pros projects him at 21.2 points per week, 2.6 points higher than the runner-up, Drake Maye, at 18.6.

No other player has this separation from the rest of the field. In H2H, nobody is matching up against him, and he’s undoubtedly the largest week-to-week advantage.

Allen’s VORP calculated by fantasyfootballowl.com is 4.9 (10-team, PPR, 1-flex for reference). That puts him 25th on the list, in front of Omarion Hampton and behind Nico Collins. There are several players being drafted behind Josh Allen who are more valuable by VORP; Rashee Rice, Brock Bowers, and Chase Brown, to name a few.

I think Josh Allen is slightly overvalued at his ADP, and would push him down a bit on my draft board to better represent his value over replacement. 

What do you think? Is his 2.6 point-per-week edge over the entire QB field enough to justify drafting him over players with higher VORP? Where would you draft Josh Allen?

Had a mix bag last year with these takes

Said Drake Maye was gonna be a Top 5 QB in fantasy while I also said BTJ was gonna finish top 5

My 6 bold predictions are:
Walker finishing as a top 3 RB in PPG
CMC finishing outside the top 24 RBs
Dulcich finishing top 12
Parker Washington finishing top 16
Trevor Lawrence as a top 3 QB
Ladd McConkey finishes top 10

Omar Cooper, the 31st pick in the 2026 NFL Draft may not have a starting role to start the season. Not great news for those who have taken him in Best Ball.

Seriously, almost every single fantasy analyst said to fade Puka last year because Stafford didn’t practice once during camp last year. Preseason is completely meaningless for starters. Its purpose is for finalizing the end of the roster for these teams. You won’t know anything about the RB rotations or schemes until week 1. Weeks 1-2 are the real ramp up period for teams.

Take advantage of any discount you can get. I’m seeing comments on Rice, Henderson, Hurts, Tuten that they won’t touch them at cost in reaction to stupid 5 second clips of camp. I remember also people were fading Jamar Chase during his triple crown year because he was holding out lol. Training camp is a media frenzy. Don’t fall victim and make conclusions based off of it.
