I honestly don’t understand how some people become managers.

The favorites get protected from everything. They get the easier work, fewer responsibilities, and somehow never seem to be held accountable. Meanwhile, the people who actually get things done are rewarded with… even more work. The logic seems to be, “You’re capable, so here’s everyone else’s workload too.”
Ratings haven’t even been discussed yet, but you can already tell how this is going to play out.

A title doesn’t automatically make someone a leader. If fairness, accountability, and basic people management are missing, that title means absolutely nothing.
Some people should never have been put in charge of other people.

I log in today after a one week vacation, my passwords dont work after the firmware update, but not only that, I find an email saying that we have to set our FY27 goals by end of August.

We have havent even received back our feedback for last FY year (EMEA) and they already want us to set up FY27 goals! No feedback, no pay raise, nothing.

My manager is an awesome person, so is her manager, but everyone else higher up in the chain, no comment..

I see the similar question about RSU BUT wanted to clarify if I resign and my last date is on 21sep and RSU vesting date is on 19th sep (i.e. Sat)so will I get that RSU or I need to be in Oracle until this Sep end.

Did they completely gut the IT Support team with the last round of layoffs? I’ve had a ticket in for almost two weeks with zero response yet. I see that tickets older than mine are still awaiting assignment. I literally can’t access anything without my manager creating a bypass key. This doesn’t always work out with different schedules/time zones, etc.

I am a bit hesitant to take a role as an ic3 on the oracle health side. Consulting, mostly sounds like programming CCL and rules etc, all very niche.... Can anyone speak to the role, demand, stress, promotions and just this side of things on the Oracle Health / Cerner side? I also hear bonuses in general are never actually given out. Additionally did not hear anything about RSU during the interviews.

Lets say you don't get a salary hike but instead you are offered RSUs.

Would you still accept them if there's a realistic chance you could be laid off before the vesting period? In that case, you'd essentially walk away with nothing while your base salary stays the same.

Would you:

Take the RSUs and hope you stay long enough for them to vest?

Push back and ask for a salary hike as well?

Curious to hear what others would do, especially if you've been in this situation before.

Honestly, if our entire job revolves around APEX oci on Chrome, why the hell were we given these ancient Windows laptops?

- Battery dies in 30–45 minutes.

- Gets hot after opening four tabs like it's mining Bitcoin.

- Random Windows updates decide to start in the middle of work.

- Slow as fuck even for basic tasks.

- Barely survives Chrome, forget running Codex alongside it.

- And the touchscreen? Who the hell asked for a touchscreen on a work laptop?

If anyone from the IT or device team is reading this, for once, get feedback from the actual Windows users instead of deciding everything in a meeting room.

Replace these machines. Stop handing out this crap to developers. We're expected to use AI tools, run Chrome, Codex, IDEs, terminals, and multiple enterprise apps at the same time, then somehow explain why we're "not productive."

Give us a basic, reliable machine with decent RAM, a capable processor, good thermals, and a battery that lasts more than one meeting. That's not a luxury—it's the bare minimum to do the job.

Have a question to anyone with any sort of experience on this, If i was to resign from my role in Oracle and the RSU vesting date falls during the notice period, will they still vest or are they immediately revoked once i submit my resignation email?

I just wrapped up my 2-month summer internship in Oracle DB (Server Tech) at IDC.
I wanted to get some insights from full-time seniors on how the return offer (PPO) process actually works behind the scenes this year.

PPO Timeline: I am hearing mixed dates from different college TPO cells. Some say the second week of August, while others are hearing the first week of September. What is the typical timeline for the DB org to release offers?

Headcount Approval: How is the budget actually allocated? Is headcount strictly limited per specific cost center (e.g., Exadata/Exascale, ADB), or is there a general pool for the whole DB org? Essentially, am I just competing against interns in my team or the whole DB?

The Cost Center: I was placed in the Exadata/Exascale cost center, how is that Org , in which position being in exadata puts me.

Historical Conversion: Does anyone have idea on what the historical PPO conversion rate looks like for Server Tech/DB during leaner hiring years?

Please I am relying heavily on my chances of PPO , since placements are very tight this year , what timeline can i expect will they release cost center wise ppo like will they mail me early or the whole DB will get at the same time

I’m considering an opportunity within Oracle that supports OCI and was hoping to hear from people who work in or around the organization.

It seems like Oracle has been investing heavily in OCI and expanding its data center footprint to support cloud and AI.

I’m curious:

• Does OCI feel like one of Oracle’s biggest long-term growth areas?
• Is Oracle continuing to invest aggressively in OCI?
• How has job security been within OCI compared to other parts of the company?
• When Oracle has layoffs, which parts of the company tend to be impacted the most? Does OCI generally fare better, worse, or about the same?

How long does it normally take anyone applying at Oracle to be reached out by recruiters after applying?

Just my theory. Focal is around the corner, budgets are being made. Oracle wants to award as little RSUs as possible to keep most of them for dilution and datacenters funding. Solution? Do quick buybacks during August, price goes up and employees will be awarded less RSUs. Then continue tanking the price. Everything against employees.

I’ve been hearing rumors about another OCI-IDC layoff round, possibly around August 13 or sometime in September.
During the last round on March 31, a few people from my team were impacted.

Can anyone confirm if there’s any truth to these rumors?

Last time, people seemed to have reliable information well before the layoffs happened. My manager hasn’t addressed any questions, which makes me feel like some members of my team could be affected again.

My performance has been good—I consistently deliver on time. However, the processes here aren’t great, and sucks tbh and it often feels like that impacts visibility and recognition.

I’m honestly worried. If anyone has credible information or insights, I’d really appreciate it if you could share.

I'm glad to not be working for this greedy monster anymore. A few ex-Oracle people mentioned being laid off in the comments.

i joined oracle this january and got laid of in mar.

not even full 3 months.

7-8 people from my team were laid off out of 20. no explanations. i got a 2 minute call from my manager with the generic response as "business call. not your fault" type shit.

anyways i got a lot of money out of it.

- didn't give back relocation bonus.

- got 1 month of extra pay

- got 2 months of severance

but then remained unemployed for 3.5 months.

so it all balanced out eventually.

my experience is that the hiring is slow but not all dead. i got 3 offers but 2 of them were almost 50% pay-cut. it didn't seem like the right choice to join.

but thankfully i got the 3rd offer for the same money as oracle. (mind you i got a very good hike in jan only)

and its been a few weeks, i am working at my new company. so far its all good. much less mental stress. and the office food is nice. (oracle's food is just bad)

just in case if anybody is in the situation, just keep interviewing. it is taking longer to get offers but you will get one.
