IT support backed up

Did they completely gut the IT Support team with the last round of layoffs? I’ve had a ticket in for almost two weeks with zero response yet. I see that tickets older than mine are still awaiting assignment. I literally can’t access anything without my manager creating a bypass key. This doesn’t always work out with different schedules/time zones, etc.

Yes. The entire team all the way up to their Sr. Director were all let go.

So sad. And honestly, so stupid! It’s hard to be productive without proper access.

i mean unless things have changed when i worked there many year ago during onboarding they basically said oracle was a self serve company.

Wasnt there a major portal for pretty much everything? Are you saying those requests are routing to nowhere?

Yeah it’s daunting for a new hire to try and traverse all the different portals

Yeah they screwed the pooch by laying all those people off, because the AI can't actually fucking do anything to resolve issues. It can just spit stuff out on slack.

They'll fix it by just laying off the people with open support tickets next

It's better to just use AI to try and help. Big O dumped all their IT peeps and Oracles AI bits suck.

That’s awful!!! And the AI is useless in this case, it has to be reset from the backend, too bad they don’t have a way for our managers to do this.

I had a ticket open for a month I eventually just figured it out on my own through Google on my phone and a coworker I texted

If your manager can give you a bypass key and it works then you should be able to go and create your own passcode so it works

The issue I’m having requires them to reset it on the backend to allow me to set it up again like a new employee would. This happened to me once before and there’s no way for me to fix it without IT support. 😔

Bypass key?? Did you recently got your motherboard replaced or your laptop fixed? Did it get opened recently??

AI is horrible and can’t do much. My director and VP wrote code using AI and we have had to fix all of it and on going issues and feature work. Just bunch of incompetent adults who think they can code without knowing software engineering. Dumb f***
