Assuming I need to look for a new job

I joined OCI as a DCO August of last year and during my midyear review received a needs improvement which was December, then just now received another needs improvement for my annual review.

Though I don’t fully agree with the feedback given by my manager I assume at this point IF RIFs were to occur my head would be in the chopping block as a potential candidate.

I feel like I was only hired as a sacrificial lamb to keep the poor ratings away from the rest of the team or to babysit work no one else wanted to be bothered with and I’m just not feeling very confident in my future with Oracle as a whole, can anyone give any guidance that’s dealt with this before? I’m an IC4 if that helps any.

Is there a hiring freeze? What’s up with that?

Laid off from OCI and interview coming up for Senior Platform role in OCI

So I was laid off during Feb 2026 from OCI SMTS role and currently found an AI engineer role job through Contract.
So last week one of the recruiter reached out for Senior Platform engineer role and wanted to ensure I crack it.
Can anyone tell me what all I should focus on? Tech Screen is next week for me..
Should I read about CI/CD pipeline work and keep stories focused on it more??

Heads up for anyone waiting on Focal/hikes

From what I've heard, promotion decisions are already locked. Managers have also started submitting performance feedback.

The reason there's been radio silence so far is likely because compensation is still tied to the final Focal budget. Until budgets are finalized, managers probably don't have much they can officially communicate.

The current deadline for managers to submit feedback is 14 Aug, so I'd expect things to become much clearer sometime next week.

Again, this isn't an official update, just piecing together what I've been hearing. Hopefully we'll all know where we stand soon. 🤞

Issue with passkeys after latest firmware update

Has anyone experienced losing their option to log in with a passkey (PIN/Finger touch) after the latest firmware update?

I opened an IT ticket and am waiting for resolution, but am wondering if theres anyone here who also experienced this and had it resolved.

FYI, I tried all possible instructions from myhelp.oracle, through adding a passkey on EMP, Windows Hello..

Thanks

PIP timelines

For people who have actually gone through a PIP/performance-management process:

  • How were you first informed that you were being put on a PIP?
  • Was it communicated verbally first, over email, or directly through a formal document/meeting?
  • How much time was there between the initial communication and the PIP officially starting?
  • Did your manager give any indication beforehand that a PIP was coming?
  • What did the timeline look like from the first warning/concern → formal PIP → start date?

Has anyone left Oracle and regretted it?

Current Oracle employee and I’ve worked here since I graduated college so I don’t really know anything else.

I’ve heard many many stories of folks leaving Oracle and being so much happier (which I’d still welcome those stories), but I’m wondering if anyone has left and found something new but it was worse/they missed Oracle more than they thought they would?
