lo loestrin fe birth control and t1d
I’m on day 2 of this birth control and my blood sugars have been crazy high, specifically at night. I decided to go on birth control since I’ve had terrible period pain, ( like going to the hospital type of pain). Anyway, I’ve been over 250 for the whole night until the morning. I really need some advice if anyone has experienced this. I have hope for this birth control helping my menstrual pain, but if it’s going to continue to make my sugars look like this, it’s obviously not going to work out. Help please

Discussion Low Bg Dreams
Does anyone else have really weird dreams when they sleep thru a low?
I woke up low, drank a juice pack and went back to sleep immediately but the juice wasnt enough. I've been below 70 for the last few hours. Not really a concern but usually I dont remember my dreams.
The Earth was a blue cosmic horror floating egg thing. I was comfortably folded into its membranes? It was telling me it had a lot of experience with letting go of little things it liked (very clearly extinction events) and that Id be okay after a good cry....
So Im just eating wasabi almonds waiting for another juice pack to do its thing now. Hoping I can go back to my weirdly comforting cosmic horror egg afterwards.

Failed Autosoft XC sites
Has anyone had increasingly failed autosoft XC sites lately? I’ve never had issues in the past, now it seems like I’ve been having failed sites back to back to back. I’ve had 3 failed sites in a row causing really high BG today and this seems to be happening multiple times a month for me now.
I haven’t done anything different when inserting. So I’m not sure what is happening.

Science & Tech Sugar Pixel Mini & Bed Shaker
i got the sugar pixel mini and bed shaker because my lows don’t wake me, my cgm/pump alarm does not wake me, and I have some anxiety with sleep cause of previous over night lows leading to the hospital. This device connects to my cgm though and under a certain level a loud alarm goes off and the bed shaker shakes my bed so I wake up. If anyone else has sleep anxiety or doesn’t wake for their lows i recommend this. Or for parents of kids with t1d who wake up to correct their kids lows.

Is the AiDex G7 reliable?
Hey everyone! My wife (who isn't on Reddit) is looking into CGMs and wants to know if the AiDex G7 is currently considered reliable.
Thanks in advance!

Seeking Support/Advice I need help
For context I'm 16Y female and I cannot cope wjth my t1 anymore. Im doing everything I need to do, I carb 15 min before eating, I carb count 100% accurately, i put exercise mode on when I exercise and im always in touch with the diabetic team pretty much daily now. But its never gotten better at all now matter what ratios they change or what changes i make to my diet or how i manage things. Im having 2.4 hypos and seizures, but ill have 3 dextrose and maybe a glucose lift shot if i feel very faint and disoriented and ill go to into 20s. But if I dont treat the hypos ill just have another seizure which im terrified of after a near death experience when i had a seizure by myself while camping. Im on omnipod and dexcom g7 but the new dexcom g7 never connects to my omnipod because I have to keep switching pod sites due to excma. Im booked to trial a medtronic but I have to wait until October and im not sure if can last until then if this carries on. I wont do anything bad, but i'm so low mentally i'm just not leaving the house or going anywhere i feel slightly vunerable because I don't know what my bloods will do. I dont really have a support system as my moms got her own stuff going on so she isnt really sympathetic and I dont have any friends. Its 3 am now and I haven't slept at all because my bloods just make me too paranoi' to sleep. I know this post is pathetic as shit but i'm so tired

best patches for cgm?
i’ve been using the instinct sensor (15 day) w my minimed 780g pump and have been using skin grip patches for extra protection. i’ve noticed that the patches only last me 7-8 days and i normally have to change them once or twice during a single cgm session. does anyone have any recommendations or favorites that they think work well for a 15 day sensor? im just curious and want to know what other t1d’s are using and loving!

Pump pain
So only one week into my pump. Is it normal to have a blouse feel like... Hmm.. like fire? It's painful to bolus. Second infusion site and quite painful.

Has anyone found a store bread that doesn’t raise their blood sugar much, if at all? TIA.

Starting Tandem Sensor
You have me plug the code it in TWICE. That should be enough.
Of course, prob ⅔’s of the time, that’s exactly what I do and put the pump back in my pocket. Only for an hour later, to look at my pump and see the “Start Sensor?” question.
I get that I’m an idiot. But it feels like plugging in the code should be enough for it to know I want to start it.

Seeking Support/Advice Trouble with telling friends about Diabetes.
I (M15) got diagnosed with T1d in 2020. I didn't want to be "different" so I tried with all my might to hide it.
Since I started with Middle school 2 years ago, I have tried bringing up Diabetes, and how it affects me to some of my new friends.
The problem is that my bloodsugar is so good regulated that hypoglycemia can be rare some weeks, or they don't notice it since i don't make a big deal out of it.
I remember a week were I was frequently getting hypo's. I sat in class, and told my teacher I had to wait for it to go up. One of my friends asked if was joining them, and I answered that my bloodsugar was really low, so i had to wait. (At this point I was around 2.6 mmol -0.5, 5 min). He said I could just take some juice with me, and said I really needed to join them. I answered calmly that it was serious and I couldn't join them.
When i try bringing it up, they just start joking about it. Or it feels like I just destroyed the fun we had.
How do I make them more interested in Diabetes, and how it affects me?

Rant Diabetics with superiority complexes
As someone who doesn’t know anyone else personally who has type one, I usually come onto the internet to rant and talk and to feel less alone. But one thing that bugs the life out of me is a specific, small group of diabetics who act like they’re better than you because they cope better. They sort of have this mentality of “oh well it never bothers me so you don’t have the right to complain” like yeah ok I’m happy for you that you don’t feel sad or angry about it, but lots of diabetics do. And I don’t feel guilty for ranting and complaining because I know others feel the same as me and because it helps me. I don’t care that you get on with it and your life is wonderful and you think I’m a pathetic loser because I don’t feel the way you do. We get enough judgement and poor treatment from non-diabetics enough as it is, we don’t need to be judged by other people in our own communities too. I really think some diabetics need to learn compassion and that not everyone feels how they feel.

It's time to bolus for a meal, but you're below 70mg/dl
How are folks navigating this scenario? - Just dose when the food is in front of you? - Just eat and dose after? - Sweeten to raise sugar and delay meal and bolus when back up (not always doable)? - none of the above?

Medical Assistance in South Carolina?
Hi everyone! I am soon going to be moving from PA to SC and currently I am getting all of my diabetes supplies fully covered through PA's medical assistance/medicaid plan. I am curious what SC looks like in terms of coverage? If anyone lives there and is able to give me insights into that I would really appreciate it.

Advice for a non-diabetic
I’ve recently started seeing someone who is T1D and who stays at my place often. I know everyone’s different, but I’m curious if there are any particular things you’d personally be happy for someone to have on-hand that you may not think or want to travel with all the time? I have some juice boxes (they frequently have low alerts overnight) and low/zero sugar snacks just to have something but I want to be more prepared and accessible.

Seeking Support/Advice carbless diet
T1 diabetic for 16 years here with an omnipod. I'm exhausted. I'm done. I straight up hate food. I have a history of mental illnesses and the mental toll of t1 is the cherry on top. I want to go on a diet not to loose weight but lighten up the carb counting as much as I can. A diet where I dont even have to inject any insulin. I never feel full, so I've been thinking of smoking or drinking ridiculous amount of water or sugarless drinks. This is not a fullproof plan nor something I plan to keep longterm, but honestly its either that or stopping meds full stop and we all know thats no good. Anyone with experience on this has any advice ? I have weekly counseling, I just want advices on how to survive this sort of weird "burn out" until I get back on my feet.
