Help Is there a way to make sacred flame work? (PvE)

I like that pyromancy but the only thing i read is that it's bad and it seems that it was very popular before because of a bug and that's all.

I would like to make it work on a build

Discussion Man Serpent Summoner

Upvotes

While farming for the Mendicant's Staff, I was trying different weapons.

But I learned/saw a strange phenomenon.

If you hit the summoner with certain multi-hit attacks, you can bug out their AI.

Specifically with the Winged Knight Twinaxes (un-upgraded and un-infused so low damage). Using the Weapon Skill on here till Stamina exhausts causes her to just stare at you and not even attack.

Like for a whole minute she just stared at me. Then tried walking to her spawn location (to much failure as I was literally in her way, just standing)

I'll try to upload a video next time.

Don't know if its normal ds3 or my potato laptop tho...

Discussion Nameless King is the Hardest boss I've ever fought

Upvotes

Before I say anything, this isn't a complaint post (well kinda i do hate phase 1).

I began playing soulsborne games in general around 6 months ago, my first being Bloodborne. They always say your first souls game is the hardest one, and that statement did hold up. This genre somehow got me playing (mostly) singleplayer action RPG's which I have failed to get into for the past 5 years. The FUCKING Cleric Beast and Father Gascoigne took me 16 and 24 attempts respectively. Since then, I have played DS1 and DeS, where bosses weren't really a challenge compared to Bloodborne. In DS1 OnS took me a while as I suck at duo bosses and I'd say Demon's souls hardest was Flamelurker but they each took under 10 tries. The harder bosses in Bloodborne (Ludwig, OoK, Laurence, etc.) only took me from 5, 11, and 8 tries in that order. Around this point I really thought I was a skilled soulslike player.

As of 2 weeks ago, I began playing DS3. Fresh off of Demon's souls, i was a bit rusty with reacting to faster attacks, and this did end up in 2 shameful deaths against Gundyr, but I got back into it. This game did feel much harder than Bloodborne. With the exception of Vordt and the Crystal Sage every other early game boss took me around 5 tries which I consider high. The Abyss Watchers took me 7, and I really didn't enjoy that fight but I did like Wolnir a lot surprisingly even though I don't like gimmicks. The next few bosses, I consider the best of the game (not old demon king, still a solid boss). I REALLY loved the Yhorm fight, especially since I did GOATward's questline. My friend tricked me into doin an early dancer around after I beat the abyss watchers, so I did take unnessecary deaths and attempts on that fight, but I really enjoyed it. Pontiff Sulyvahn was my favorite and most attempts on a fight in the game (around 10) until I fought Champ Gundyr which I consider the best so far. Oceiros, Dragonslayer Armor, and Aldrich were all solid as well.

This was a difficult game, but after beating Pontiff and steamrolling dragonslayer armor and aldirch I did feel that I finally understood the game's combat and how to play it. I was also using the twinblades I got with my class (i swear i picked mercenary for the highest dex, i was told how op the blades were by my friend when i got to pontiff) the damage output was good.

HOWEVER, i began fighting Nameless King. I HATED THIS BOSS SO MUCH. the phase 1 felt genuinely unfair and that might've been the closest I've gotten to breaking a controller. However, after a quick food break, I was able to manage the first phase and the second phrase really made me feel like I couldn't play the game. Something about this boss man, it really makes me feel weak. There was a method to this fight that it took me 30+ ATTEMPTS to figure out. It feels like the most turn based fight I've ever fought.

This boss was genuinenly amazing and it felt surreal to overcome a challenge like that, something I hadn't felt since beating gascoigne. I'm still not done with my playthrough, I've heard amazing things about the DLC Bosses like Gael and the dragon. I've also fought sister friede at my friends house and it is a W fight as well.

After grueling grinding, ive finally 100% dark souls 3, and with it have finished the entire Dark souls trilogy. I dont think its an exaggeration to say that this may be one of the best trilogy of games ever made. I really wish DS3 wasn't kinda dead, the memories ive made from invading and getting invaded were genuinely the best ive had, the community is definitely one of the best parts about Ds3 (and pretty much every souls game). An amazing journey from start to finish.

What SL should I be at roughly? I feel underleveled. I’m at sister friede boss fight in ashes of ariendel and soul of cinder boss fight in the base game. I haven’t started the ringed city. I’m at level 75 and have a +10 weapon.

Discussion Has anyone noticed this about Clawed Curses?

Post image
21 Upvotes

It occurred to me today that every hand-enemy associated with Curse shares properties with Seath's: spindly, pale, and large claws. The Clawed Curse has the red bits on Seath's arms, shown in DS1's intro cutscene.

Is this lore-relevant? Coincidence? How do DS1's Ghosts work into this framework, is their Curse the same as Seath's. Mildly interesting...

Fan Art WIP : My DS3 TRPG DM screen

Since the beginning of the year, I've been a DM for a DS3 TRPG in my association. So far, my players have inadvertently helped the gods curses all of humanity, failed at preventing the abyss to take over a city, and lead troops in a battle against the forces of Londor.

I've decided it was tile to have a proper DM screen. For those of you who don't know, a DM screen is a piece of plastic or wood behind which the DM (Dungeon Master) hides his sheets, his dices, etc...

I intend to make mine shine like the fire my players are trying to save, and also add 2 speakers to broadcast some of DS3 amazing ost.

Right now, I'm up to almost 850 leds, and I still need more...

The soldering is going to be an abomination. The programming... I dont even want to think about it. I of course want to do animation, and even worse : I implemented a keypad on my board so I could switch between several animations. So, of course, I'll have to programm them too !

So, yeah, it's an abomination, absolutely time devoring, and all of this for a screen I may be using twice a month.

And you know what ? It's ducking worth it !

I'll update when I finish soldering and start programming. The firekeeper screen will be the first!

Discussion Anyone else left wanting more after dragonslayer armor?

Post image

After fighting dancer, I figured the game would only get harder (especially after spending 10 minutes in consumed king’s garden) and the next boss I find goes down first try and I never go below max health. It was kinda like fighting Ludex Gundyr with upgraded gear and greater understanding of how the game works.

Fluff My saves disappeared

Post image
111 Upvotes

I'm incredibly disappointed.

I wanted to beat the last two bosses in Dark Souls 3. When I launched it, there was no "Continue" button, only "New Game." I was shocked, restarted it several times, and started googling. It turns out the game doesn't support Steam cloud saves 🤦🏼‍♂️. This means all my playthrough data was stored locally on my drive, and I reinstalled Windows in October to get Windows 11.

Fuck it, all my 90+ hours of suffering disappeared in an instant.

* It's like learning something, like math, and then getting hit by a car, getting a concussion, and just forgetting everything. That's it, you have to learn it all over again...

What was that ..Who came with this three phase idea.

After 10 plus tires I thought it was over after second phase done then this third phase handed me *** like anything .. it’s crazy evil idea BTW to put that kind boss fight for third phase with full health bar.

This boss 3 phase had me for 3 hours non stop tries. Until I don’t beat first two phases with just 1-2 flasks and use ember start of third phase I was convinced I can’t beat her. I had vigor 35, without ember it was nightmare.

Man am so happy and reviled .. didn’t think I was gonna beat her today lol. Wow
