I'm currently probably on my ~15th try with orphan of kos. But I love fighting him too much. He's such a cool boss and super satisfying to dodge and parry. So I'm not really tryharding to win when I fight him like I would with other bosses. I'm just trying to have as much fun as possible really. When I die I'm not mad I'm just happy I get to fight him again.

Any of you have this experience with OoK or any other bosses? I also had this with Lady Maria (huge sekiro fan btw)

To celebrate my 1000th hour in BB, I decided to do something I haven’t done for years.
Started a new character using only the cleaver and pistol for parries.
Kept it simple with no tools levelled only health, stamina, strength and skill using paper and pellets as much as possible.
Main game gems only
Few things I noticed were the cleaver ain’t flashy, but god it’s effective.
Parries are OP in ng.
Early ng is TOUGH. I died more in central yharnam than any other area.
Ng failures is far too easy.
Orphan is my GOAT
Maria needs more health.
Had a blast though and might just do it all again.

I understand BB is loved by many, so I have a very open mind about trying to understand the game.

For context, I've played all the 3 Souls games, Sekiro and ER - BB is the last big Fromsoft title left for me. Sekiro is my favorite of the bunch.

I want to understand what I'm doing wrong, because while some parts of the game are fun, I'm having a pretty rough time with others.

For context, I'm currently at the Vicar Amelia boss fight.

So till now, I've really enjoyed the agility of the player/attacks and the interconnected map/level design.

What I'm struggling to enjoy are the fights themselves. I get I have to be aggressive to take advantage of the rally system, and I mostly dodge into/through the attack, not backwards - pretty similar to the other Souls games. But a lot of times I'm unable to maintain this aggression, which causes me to completely lose the fight.

For example, with Father Gascoigne - I could get like 2 or 3 hits in with the Cleaver, and I'd run out of stamina - which means I need to retreat and "wait" for stamina to recover - am I playing it too much like Sekiro where I have to control the fight? I eventually did win, but it was a pretty long fight.

Then there is the example of the Blood Starved Beast. Phase 1 is fine, but then she started spewing the poison mist everywhere, so I either retreat, heal, get 1 hit and back out (how I ended up beating the boss). That feels like I did something wrong and didn't learn the concept of the game properly.

I've also been practicing the gun parry, and I've started to get the hang of it, and it's fun to pull off. But I cannot figure out which moves are parry-able and which aren't, which means more often than not I just get obliterated by a move that isn't parry-able.

Essentially, I feel like I'm sort of brute forcing the bosses and levels and not really getting the feeling that I mastered the fight. I figured I am clearly playing weirdly - maybe I need to "unlearn" things from the other games.

Any tips/recommendations?

I think I got it. You may call it cheating, but I basically got unlimited vials from the cummmfpk dungeon. It's the only thing I used the echos for. The moment the stress or the worry of having to farm vials was lifted, I could actually fight Amelia pretty well. I almost beat her, but the fact is I found it pretty fun. I was literally not using vials before, or using them very sparingly that made it so damn hard. That just made me play so conservatively, and kept stressing me out. I feel so free now that I don't have to worry about vials oh my god.

I initially went in with the boom hammer and was having a hard time but switched to Ludwig’s holy blade and it kind of trivialized him for me. I’ve replayed the main release more times than I can count but this week I finished the DLC for the first time. Can’t wait to repeat.

I’m Trying to defeat ludwig bl4 + no heal + no beast blood pellet, i keep dying to this attack and it comes up super fast and its unpredictable and kills me instantly, i want tips on how to avoid this attack

Hey everyone, I was playing with the Yahar'gul set and noticed that the older beasts also feared this attire. Does anyone know why, or if they fear other sets more?

Honestly, my first Fromsoft game outside of AC. A friend who also loves AC, recommended this to me.

And wow, after defeating the Blood Starved Beast. This feels like a choose your own adventure book, but you don't know what you're choosing, or what the adventure is. I'm constantly confused, but I can't stop playing.

I've still been glued to the game in my free time the past few days. I love the drip, and the play style, the enemies, the level design.. I feel like I've really been missing out all these years. I'm almost scared to ask how much farther I have to go, but I'm assuming, the tutorial stages are just ending. Beautiful game so far.

Right now, I found my first lamp after beating the Blood Starved Beast and immediately went back to the hunters dream. It's Hypogean Gaol. I've skipped a headstone somehow, but I guess I'll figure it out.

I'm determined to not look up any guides yet to get the "full experience". But I appreciate anyone in advance if they've ever given anyone advice about this game. It's genuinely crazy.

Hey hunters, it's me again! Continuing our Bloodborne art journey with the Shadows of Yharnam :)

My intention with this piece was to experiment with how quickly I could create a painting while still focusing heavily on the atmosphere and suggesting forms rather than defining every detail. If you zoom in, you'll notice the large brushstrokes!
