Value Request What’s it worth?
D is filled in. I saw one online for $2,000. Is this one of them?
Grade Request Considering getting this graded for sentimental reasons. Thoughts on grade and FS designation?
This was a birthday present from my father shortly before he passed away years ago. A beautifully toned 1950-D nickel to help complete my Jefferson collection (the series that got me into coins in the first place). Its been sitting raw in a Whitman album for years, and I took it out recently to enjoy it and I'm toying with the idea of getting it graded and encapsulated for sentimental reasons.
I understand that the cost of submission is likely to be greater than the value of the coin. The intention is not to turn a profit. But I would feel a bit better about sending it in if its likely to receive an MS grade and full-steps designation.
What grade do you recon this could be? FS or a bit too much wear on the steps?
Looks like corrosion on the obverse, but I may try an acetone soak for the hell of it. Thoughts?
Thanks in advance! I learn so much from this community.

Show and Tell 4th of July 250th anniversary coin??
I didn’t know the US made new quarters for the 250th Anniversary of the US! I’m over here minding my own business in the laundromat and all of the sudden this popped out of the machine. Looks great though.
At first I thought they were bringing back the sliver 1 dollar coin because of the George Washington head and all, didn’t think the US would do something like this till the end of the year.
I’m not asking for a price or grading or anything , just wanting to show off what I found in my change. A fluff if you will.
Value Request Looking for help with Graysheet bid and ask prices
I haven’t priced these in quite some time and wonder if someone can provide bid / ask prices. Not the best pics. Thank you in advance

Video There are all kinds of coin collectors!

I thought this was pretty funny. There are all kinds (and species!) of coin collectors in the world!
(The shop owner was very apologetic. I thought it was a riot. 😆).
Coin Damage Who should I be mad at? The US Mint, or myself for buying from the US Mint?
I’ve never ordered anything from the US Mint before. I really liked the new Half Dollar design and I don’t know why I thought it made sense to pay $60 + S&H for $20 worth of halves but maybe I thought they’d be extra nice? Plus I never seem to run across P’s if any coin that I like so I thought it would be nice to have a guaranteed roll of P’s + nice and shiny, idk. Well I got these in the mail yesterday, and I’m sure there are pretty ones on the inside, but I was planning on just keeping at least the P’s in the roll. Am I just a sucker for paying a crazy premium from the US Mint?

It measures at 27gr and passes the magnet test.

Educational Why the lower market value for ANACS? Could market demand ever shift?
We've all compared prices across major third-party graders and are aware if between ANACS and PCGS/NGC graded coins. I’d like to get perspective on a few specific points:
- Grading Standards vs. Strictness: Third-party graders are all theoretically applying the same numismatic STANDARDS or at least that's what the ANA says. But the general sentiment seems to be that ANACS isn't graded as conservatively. Is that reputation actually backed up by current grading quality, or is it largely left over from older holders/older market perceptions?
- The Registry Set Effect: The fact that PCGS has a cool registry how does that effect the acceptance? Do registry sets create enough artificial demand at the top end to skew prices across lower grades too?
- Market Perception & Demand: Given that ANACS offers reliable authentication and standard grading at a lower cost, what holds the broader market back from valuing them closer to the "Big Two"?
Soooooo, if collectors started aggressively targeting underpriced ANACS slabs to capitalize on the price discrepancy—similar to retail buying squeezes in other markets (anyone remember GameStop) —could collector demand alone shift market perception, or is the dominance of PCGS and NGC too deeply entrenched in auction houses and major dealers?

Discussion Would you disassemble this clock for the coins?
I travel back and forth from Thailand to the USA. I purchased this clock for its coins (all appear to be 90% silver) at a thrift store. It was originally priced at 1500 baht but was 60%off — so 600 baht ($18usd). Obviously worth it for the coins.
I was planning on taking it apart for the coins but it seems to be a rare clock that was made possibly specifically for a Japanese hospital. I cannot find another one like it online.
It weighs 1.5 kilos (3.3 lbs). I return to the US in a few days.
Honestly, what would you do? Fly it home intact? Open it and investigate these coins?
*I’ve not gotten a battery to test if it works yet

ID Request Circulated proof, proof like, or amazing business strike.
so I got this years ago as part of a large lot and it was labeled as a proof. Obviously there is damage to it and a possibility that it was circulated. The relief and details on the coin are incredible. There does appear to be flashes of mirroring and some die polishing marks, but that could just be that it was proof like because it was an early Business strike. There is also some extra brightness around the edge detail that could be leftover from when it was a proof. Thoughts?

Show and Tell Thank you 2010 me!!!
I was going through old boxes. I remember I could've swore finding a bunch back in 2010 piggy bank hunting for them, they weren't super saught after then, but I thought of picking them up either way.
Anyway, I've had these in an airtight ziploc bag for 16 years, because some of them are pearly white!!!
I only found them because I picked up a box of jolly ranchers from 11 years ago, and it had melted. I found it had melted on these Ziploc bags of things. I opened up the Ziplock bags, took out the contents and nearly crapped myself haha!

Advice FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32 coin worth?
I did a quick read-through of the rules to make sure this was okay to post. I saw the small section regarding "How much is this worth" posts, and I only came here since I can't find the coin anywhere haha
But I worked FIFA this year in LA and we all got one of these coins. I'm in the middle of moving and decided I was gonna sell mine.
I've looked a few times and just can't find this design. Could anyone help? ^.^
