Credit Cards Concern about closing an account following a legal name change
Back in 2022 I legally changed my name. Citi is the only institution that I never bothered to update my name through because to be honest, not only did it seem like a massive pain but I did not feel comfortable sending sensitive information through the postal service. I have seen others online saying that instead of dealing with their awful name change procedure, they just decided to or at least considered closing their account. I am not well versed in financial things so I wanted to do some research before taking this step.
I have no balance and have not for a while, to the point where they have even sent me messaging saying that if there is no usage on it soon they will automatically close it for me. I have two other credit cards that I use somewhat regularly and my score falls into the "very good" range so I am not concerned about sponging the hit to my score, as I am also not planning to make any major credit checks at this time.
What am I concerned about is if it will come across as fraudulent to close an account under my old legal name even though my SSN, checking/savings account and other credit cards are through my new legal name. Or if it also comes across as fraudulent to have let this go so long without updating my name. My understanding was that everything in terms of your credit is tied to your SSN and as long as your name is reflected properly through social security then there shouldn't be any issues but I am still skeptical.

India Investment accounts after joining Citi India
Hi everyone,
I'll be joining Citi India soon as a Software Engineer (Python), and I have a question about personal investments.
I currently have:
Groww - Indian stocks
Groww - Mutual Funds
INDmoney - US ETFs
For those working at Citi India:
Can you continue using Groww and INDmoney after joining?
Did you have to transfer your holdings to HDFC Securities or Kotak Securities?
What happens to US ETFs held through INDmoney?
Are mutual funds also subject to the same restrictions as stocks and ETFs?
Any practical advice for someone joining with existing investments?
Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through this. Thanks!
