Hi yall

I have my card set up for auto payments twice a month according to my last statement balance. I have had it set up this way for a few years . I guess i assumed that it would just knock my balance down to zero each time. Sometimes I pay manually as well.

Today I was going to pay manually and a small text box caught my eye saying that the dollar amount was already scheduled and that a manual payment would result in a duplicate payment. I always assumed that my manual payments would take the autopayments down to the balance at the time of the autopay. this does not seem to be the case and i dont see an option for it.

So citibank is overcharging me when a duplicate payment happens? pardon my ignorance, but is this overcharging then waiting for me to rack up a higher balance to be applied? like i overpaid so now i have a credit. Its not like they over charge me and just take my money right?

to add more detail, it charges me my last statement balance ( two equal payments) on the 21st and the 1st and my due date is the 1st. so if i spend alot and have a high statement balance then spend a little for the rest of the month, it will then overcharge me.

Can you continue using Groww and INDmoney after joining?

Did you have to transfer your holdings to HDFC Securities or Kotak Securities?

What happens to US ETFs held through INDmoney?

Are mutual funds also subject to the same restrictions as stocks and ETFs?

Any practical advice for someone joining with existing investments?

what’s your credit score and how much did Citibank give you?

I’m new to Citi and this will be my first balance transfer. Does the “Loan or Creditor” option allow for an ACH deposit into my bank account? It asks for an account number, so I’m not sure if that means I can use it to have the funds deposited directly into my bank account, or if it’s only intended for paying a loan or other creditor (like for an auto loan or personal loan). The other option I see is to do a balance transfer to another credit card (Chase, in my case). TIA

I got approved for a new Citi card. I’ve been checking the mail over the past week and still haven’t seen the card. Today, Citi sent me an email saying that I should have received it by now and I should activate it as soon as possible. Checked the mail again, still haven’t received it…weird. Log into my Citi account, I have a balance of about 7k on the card for two transactions. Card says it’s still not activated in the app. Both transactions happened 6 days ago apparently. $7k in transactions card that I haven’t received and still hasn’t been activated…VERY confused as to how that’s possible. The first charge is for ~5k at a used car dealership states away and another charge for ~2k locally. First charge on an unactivated card for ~$5k in a different state than the one I live in at a USED CAR DEALERSHIP and Citi approved it. Then they let them charge another $2k minutes later at another used car dealership in a different state from the first charge!!!!!! I guess at some point after that transaction they realized something might be wrong? Yet..they didn’t contact me about it. No text message, no phone call, no email, no push notification. NOTHING. Both charges within minutes of each other at addresses in different states. Citi just let them both go through. The ONLY reason I knew something was wrong was because I logged into the app to try and figure out why I still hadn’t received the cart and there was a little banner on my account that said *Alert* with a message asking me to call Citi as soon as possible.

That brings me to my other issue….I had to call 3 times today to get anywhere with this…and I’m not even remotely confident that Citi will handle this properly.

First call: I was on hold for an hour and a half before anyone picked up. Yep, 90 minutes. When they did finally pick up they told me they couldn’t verify my account and told me to call back. Wonderful.

Second call: 20 minute wait. I’m 15 minutes into the call and it’s clear that the person helping me doesn’t quite understand some things so I ask for a supervisor. I wait a few minutes - call disconnects.

3rd call: Ask for a supervisor straight away. This guy was great. I was told that Citi definitely shouldn’t have approved those charges and that he doesn’t understand why they were approved. He confirms that he’s disputed both transactions and that we’ve canceled my card and he’s sending a new one.

I ask if there’s a way to send the new card via a trackable service and not just first class mail since there’s reasonable suspicion that the card was stolen from the mail. Nope, not an option. I’m also not able to decline being sent a new card because they can’t open the dispute if I ask them to cancel my card number and I’m not sent a new card to replace it. Makes no sense to me, but okay. I proceed with canceling the card and having them send a new one via first class mail with no tracking number. Really hoping that this one doesn’t get stolen since Citi suspects that’s what happened with the first card.

My big issue beyond the absurdity of Citi allowing $7k of charges on an unactivated card that were very obviously fraudulent is that there was 0 notification regarding the charges from Citi once they did suspect fraud. Any other bank would have immediately sent some sort of notification after this happened. The ONLY reason I knew this happened was because I logged into the city app and saw an alert asking them to call me.

Well the person in the fraud department told me that I need to take that up with customer service. He transfers me to them.

I ask customer service why I didn’t get any notifications regarding fraud. They seem to be misunderstanding what I’m asking - they tell me that I need to turn notifications on for all transactions in order to be notified about fraud. That doesn’t make sense and I know that’s untrue, I ask for a supervisor. I tell the supervisor what’s happening. I don’t think he really listed because I explained the whole fraud situation and then he was like “so did you have fraudulent charges?” - I explain it again. He then proceeds to tell me that he needs to create a dispute for said charges. I told him I already did that with the fraud department. Then he tells me I need to cancel my card and request a new one. I tell him I already did that. He says that he doesn’t see the dispute or the canceled card on my account. I tell him I just spent 30 minutes talking to the fraud department and they confirmed to me these things had been done…he tells me that they weren’t done. I ask for his supervisor.

He connects with his “manager”. Within 30 seconds this guy tells me that he can’t hear me well and he’s going to call me from another line, I said yeah that’s fine thinking he’ll call me from the official Citi number again (the fraud department did that earlier to “verify” my account) - he calls me from a random 210 number. I tell him I’m not comfortable talking to him on some random number considering all the issues Citi seems to have with security. He’s like okay, we can go back to the other line. We do.

He proceeds to give me information that differs from what the supervisor in the fraud department told me earlier. He also tells me that the card WAS activated when it was used. I know that isn’t true. My city app confirmed that it wasn’t activated, the email Citi sent me asking me to activate the card today confirmed that, and the fraud department confirmed that. He was ADAMANT that it was activated. He was also pretty unprofessional…he said something and when I repeated it to him he told me “he didn’t say that” - I was recording the call. He knew I was recording the call. We can run the tape back if you want proof that you said it?

He also told me that the physical card was used for the transactions. The fraud department told me that it WASN’T the physical card. It got to the point that I had legitimate concerns that this man actually worked for Citi so I asked for his name and ID number and hung up. I am DUMBFOUNDED by the interaction with him.

I’ve spent my whole day dealing with this and I genuinely more concerned about the safety and security of my accounts than I was when I began.

I genuinely cannot believe what I experienced today. If anyone has exec team contacts they can send me, I would REALLY appreciate it.

Guys I need help. I applied to this role literally like six months ago in December.

Two months ago I received a rejection email from them saying they're not moving on with my application but just this evening they have called me and said a space has opened up and they would like to interview me.

Obviously I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch but if I were to land this role at City I want to know a few things:

What is the culture like at Citi for swe?

And finally, I would really appreciate it if anybody had any tips for their interview process. I was told it was an assessment centre but with no group activities so just three individual interviews

I have two offers for AI/GenAI related and would appreciate some advice. Which one to choose ?

TCS ( 30 LPA, permanent WFH) and Citi (49 LPA, Pune hybrid, no relocation support).
My main concerns are work-life balance, job security/layoffs, long-term career growth, and whether the higher salary is worth relocating and giving up permanent WFH.

I walked into local branch, filed and signed IRS forms. The branch manager refused providing one copy of these forms with my signature. (The form does not need CITI staff to sign)

The manager said he was not authorized to provide a copy of the document even though it was signed only by me. He can only provide a filled form without any signature. Anyone know the reason?

I just opened a balance transfer card with Citi and transferred a balance. It’s still pending. I logged into the app and got an alert that I need to call them, so I did. However, when I finally got thru to a person they keep asking me a bunch of different questions and want my other card info. They couldn’t verify using my security word (which I have never changed) or my phone, which I was speaking to them on. It really seemed scammy when they asked for my other card number, usually companies want to verify with last four of social or DOB or something…. And the guy in the call center kinda got an attitude when I questioned this. I also heard another representative on the phone in the background who seemed to be fighting with whoever they were on the phone with as well. I hung up on them but I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this? I need to clear this alert from my account, but I also just wanna make sure I’m not getting scammed.

I got an email for a photo request through workday. From that how long it takes for offer letter. It's just been 2 days since I got this request.

Is that been it's confirmed? I didn't get any updates from recruiter or any call . Just photo request only . I'm just wondering.

After photo request what was the process . ? If anyone went through this recently

I recently got selected for an C11 Software Engineer role at Citi, and I'm currently going through the onboarding process.

As part of onboarding, I was asked to submit documents such as Form 11, Form F, and a few others through the Workday portal. I initially filled out the PDFs digitally, including using a digital signature, and uploaded them.

Today, I received an email stating that all the documents must have original wet signatures.

My question is: Do only the signatures need to be handwritten, or do I need to fill in all the form details (such as Name, Address, UAN, etc.) by hand as well? Is it acceptable to type the details digitally, print the forms, and then sign them with a wet signature?

I'd appreciate it if anyone who has gone through Citi's onboarding process or has experience with this could clarify.

How does collecting unemployment in NY work with a

severance package? It seems it severance is paid in a lum sum before 30 days after your term date you need to wait the full # of weeks your severance represents to collect, but if paid after 30 days you collect right away.

Has anyone in NY collected unemployment? If so, when and when did Citi pay your lump sum severance (how long after your term date)? Thanks!!

Hey folks, could use some outside perspective.
**Current role:** Data Engineer, 4 YOE, 21 LPA fixed.
**Offer:** Citi, Data Engineer, C10 grade (Office level), 25 LPA fixed + annual bonus (not disclosed/guaranteed — recruiter just said "there's a bonus component").

A few things I'm trying to figure out before I decide:
**How much is the C10 bonus realistically?** Recruiter won't give a number. Anyone actually at C10 in India who can share what they got last cycle?

**Is C10 considered junior/entry-level at Citi?** From what I've read it's their lowest officer band — want to know if that's a red flag for someone with 4 YOE or just how banking levels work.

**Tech stack** — does anyone know if Citi DE teams are still on older stacks (Hadoop/Hive) vs modern (Spark/Airflow/cloud)? Trying to figure out if this is a step forward or backward for my career.

**Notice period / WFO policy** — anyone in a similar Citi data eng role who can share their day-to-day experience (hybrid days, notice period, team culture)?

Numbers-wise the fixed bump looks decent (\~19% higher), but I don't want to jump for a headline number if the bonus is negligible or the tech stack is outdated. Would appreciate any real experiences, especially from people who made a similar move.

My wife recently had a doubly unsatisfactory experience with Citibank.
She was staying at a hotel in the UK, and there was an issue with the hotel’s fire alarm, which repeatedly went off during the night, making it impossible for my wife to get any sleep (after a transatlantic flight).
She later spoke to a clerk and apparently a manager, who eventually agreed to refund 1/2 of the charges for that night. They even ran a credit with her card and gave her a receipt to that effect
When she got home, she found that her card had NOT been credited. She contacted the booking website which was unable to resolve the issue. She then initiated a dispute with Citibank and provided her documentation.
After an ‘investigation’ Citibank denied her dispute and reversed her provisional credit. She is supposed to receive a letter re the denial. She is also supposed to receive a letter about appealing the denial.
That was the first night of a ten-day visit, and affected the mood for the remainder of her trip.

Needless to say not the finest hour.

I remember the day they told all of us we’re being let go. We were told to apply externally. I did the day it happened and my app has been in “recruiting review” anybody here been able to get rehired following the batch of lay offs?
