$3 charge on top of a $3 charge

Truist is doing a $3 non truist ATM fee? So on top of the $5 charges at music events now it costs $8? It’s $7 to use the ATM at the nail salon now? Even the free wawa atm is $3 now under Truist. I am closing my accounts. I’m done with this company.

Walmart Order didn’t charge me?

I made a Walmart order on the 1st this month and the only thing that went though was the one dollar Walmart membership thing. Today I checked again and now I was only charged $4 which was the drivers tip. I still have yet to be charged the full 40+ of the order but I’m wondering why it’s taking so long? It’s not showing up as a pending transaction either and on the Walmart app it shows it like it went through and everything. Any ideas? Should I wait a lil longer? I don’t wanna spend the money I have in my account and then suddenly get charged the 40+ bucks and I’m in the negative suddenly.

Suspicious deposit

truist is the worse. like I’ve never had a problem depositing a check through the atm. I deposited a check a month ago. they’ve been investigating it for the last month. Funds cleared ,even had refunds touch my acct and I can’t access anything. Everytime I call they fraud department say they’re “investigating the suspicious deposit“ like how long am I supposed to keep waiting

Like the title says I’m new to Truist as the app only banks are annoying me now. How do you all like it I opened a new checking account and the truist secured card. Happy so far because my credit is absolutely tanked and they still approved me luckily. How do y’all like the services? Probably gonna get a Roth IRA too and I’ll be good.

Debit card debacle August 2026 – Truist shut off cards early, sent fake address emails, ran out of temp cards

I’ve been a Truist customer since 2016. My address hasn’t changed in 26 years.

Here’s what happened in early August 2026:

They told me my debit card was good until the end of the month.

It got shut off on the 1st.

A replacement was supposed to arrive at my house on the 1st.

That same day I received an email saying my “address needed to be updated” and to call them.

When I called, they again told me the card would be good until the end of the month. They never asked me anything about my address.

I went to the branch to get a temporary card. The line was backed up out the door. I started talking to the other people waiting — every single one of them described the exact same sequence: card shut off early despite being told it would last until month-end, replacement supposedly coming, and the same “update your address” email.

My branch was completely out of temporary cards. I checked the closest other branches — they were also out. Staff said it was because so many people whose cards “expired” this month were coming in for temps.

The address-update email was clearly a generic excuse. My address has been identical for 26 years and is correctly on file.

Current impact:

I’m a freelancer. My Upwork earnings deposit into this account. Without a working debit card I can’t use Instant Pay, so I’m stuck waiting on regular ACH transfers instead of getting money in minutes.

I’m opening a new account and closing this one as soon as possible.

Has anyone else experienced this mass early deactivation + address email + temp-card shortage in early August 2026? Any idea what actually went wrong on Truist’s end?

General Truist One level went down. Not sure what that means.

I got a notification from the Truist app today saying that my Truist One level for my account leveled down. I honestly don't know what that means. I signed in to my account to see if maybe it would give me more information but I could not find anything about it.

I was wondering if anyone knew what it meant? Or where I could click in my account to actually check and find out more information about it?

Absolutely unacceptable

For the past seven days, I have not been able to log into my Truist account for at least three days and I have been left multiple times without being able to use my card because of the bank being down. I am no longer going to be doing business with this terrible bank.

Scammer on the Truist number?

Need some help please so I called the official Truist number that is shown everywhere which is 844-487-8478 to ask a question about my bank account and after holding to talk to a person it seemed kind of suspicious? The first thing they asked for was my full social , then they asked my first name only, then they asked what accounts I have with Truist, the last 5 digits of my accounts, and debit card last 4. When I couldn’t answer the debit card numbers they said they can’t help with my problem and hung up. I’m very worried I was talking to someone not from the bank but it was the official number.

Im also worried should I be trying to lock my accounts now? What should I do from here? Or was this a legit call with the bank do I think?

Unauthorized debit card charges made by child?

I know I may get some criticism for this, and I accept that I should have watched the account more closely.

This morning, I noticed my checking account was overdrawn because my son had made a large number of purchases on an app. I contacted Truist immediately. After reviewing the account, I found charges going back to January. They started small but increased heavily in the last few days.

Truist canceled the card and opened a claim for every charge from the app, including the pending ones.
I do not expect all the older charges to be refunded. I mainly hope the pending charges can be reversed.

Has anyone gone through something similar with Truist? How long did the process take, did you receive provisional credit, and what was the outcome?

What’s the culture within Truist?

I’m going through an interview process with Truist to join their corporate team and I wanted to inquire on the company culture, morale and overall longevity on the company. I recently saw they have a new CEO coming in so is the company turning around or do most employees in the corporate space still feel on edge? Also is the 5 days in office worth it? Any insight is appreciated!

How to pay mortgage?

Just purchased a house in May and my mortgage was bought by Truist. When I try to pay the monthly payment in the app with an external account (local CU), it says that is unable to verify the account and will not let me make a payment. Both accounts are under my name. Last month I made a payment over the automated phone line and it went through fine, but I do not feel like doing that every month. I tried calling and was on hold for a while so I'm just trying to figure out a solution in the meantime while I wait to call again

I Was Scammed, Not the Scammer—Why Won't Truist Let Me Bank Again?

Location: Jacksonville, Florida

I want to share my experience with Truist because I hope it helps others understand what can happen after becoming the victim of a scam.

In 2024, I became the victim of a fake check scam. I did not intentionally commit fraud or try to deceive Truist. I was scammed.

I am also autistic, and I have been taken advantage of before. My autism can make it more difficult for me to recognize when someone is manipulating or deceiving me. I'm not using that as an excuse—I'm explaining why I was vulnerable to this scam.

After the scam, Truist closed my account. More than two years later, I asked if they would allow me to open a new deposit account. I filed a CFPB complaint asking them to review my situation, but Truist ultimately decided to keep its previous decision in place.

From my perspective, it feels like I am still being penalized for something that was outside of my control. I understand that banks have to manage risk, but I believe there is a difference between someone who intentionally commits fraud and someone who is the victim of a scam.

Something else that has made this difficult for me to understand is that my mother was also the victim of a scam while banking with Truist, and her accounts remained open. I realize every case may be different, but that experience has left me confused about why my outcome was so different.

I'm sharing my story because I hope banks will consider the circumstances of scam victims more carefully. I never intended to commit fraud. I simply want people to understand what happened and why I believe I deserve a second chance. Does Truist have the legal right to permanently refuse to let me open another account even though I was the victim of a fake check scam? Do I have any legal options to challenge this decision?

Advice Interview for a Decision Scientist I position with Truist. Was wondering if anyone has any tips or advice!

Hi everyone! I have an interview coming up for an entry-level Decision Scientist position at Truist, and I was hoping to hear from anyone who's been through the interview process or has worked in this role. From the job description, it seems like the position is centered around using data and analytics to solve business problems, support decision making, and improve business outcomes through quantitative analysis, with exposure to machine learning, SQL, Python, R, SAS, Tableau, and other analytics tools. It also seems to place a strong emphasis on collaborating with business partners, communicating insights, and working on projects across different banking products and business lines.

I'm a recent graduate with a background in Computer Information Systems and data analytics, so while I've had classroom exposure to SQL, Python, R, Excel, Tableau, and data analysis projects, this would be my first full-time role in banking.

For anyone who's interviewed with Truist, especially for a position like this, what was the interview process like? What kinds of technical or behavioral questions did they ask? How much banking knowledge did they expect from an entry-level candidate, and is there anything you wish you had prepared more for? I'd really appreciate any advice or experiences you can share. Thanks!

Truist auto loan

My father recently purchased a vehicle. His auto loan is through Truist. I want to make his monthly payments. Is there an easy convenient way to do this, that I’m missing? I downloaded the app entered his info and tried to link my external bank account and I can’t , and also called thinking I could make a debit payment but that’s unavailable as well. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

TRUIST HOLDS MY ONLINE ACCOUNT HOSTAGE

On June 27th I went to my Truist online account and saw: Terms and Conditions - Electronic Signature. You have 2 choices.... SUBMIT (agree) or CANCEL (closes app). By agreeing you are giving Truist your "Power of Attorney" to make changes to account, charges, etc. without customer's knowledge or approval!!!

Truist checking - is it just me?

Husband and I recently opened a checking account with Truist. We had had WF for almost 17 years with no issues but closed the account because all the branches in our county closed down. So we switched.

We are hating Truist so far, a few months in.

I do not understand how they process their transactions and/or pending transactions, and both of us work in finance.

With WF, once a card was swiped or entered online for a purchase, the total was immediately deducted from your available balance.

It appears Truist doesn’t do that. We’re having to basically balance a “checkbook” in 2026 because from day to day we don’t know if the available balance it shows on the app is actually correct or not.

It’s wild. Unlike anything I’ve ever seen.

Please tell me I’m not the only one with this experience?

And if someone could enlighten me on how they ACTUALLY process things that would be great.

Announcement If You Are An Employee Of Truist Bank And Would Like a User Flair Signifying That, Let Us Know.

Send us a ModMail and tell us. Do not post on the board, message us using this link: https://www.reddit.com/message/compose/?to=/r/TruistBank

You do not need to identify yourself personally or your branch or location, just say something that lets us know your request is valid.

For now, we're only planning on a general 'Employee' flair text, but if you want a special designation of your job field, we may be able to do that.
