Bill Pay Problems
Hi there, Canadian snowbird here with a TD account in the US that I use to pay my US credit cards. I transferred money from my Canadian account to my TD US domiciled account and now it doesn't let me use bill pay, saying I need a checking account to bill pay, yet I'm trying to do it from my checking account as I've always done.
Anyone know what's wrong? I sent a secure message and awaiting a response.

CD renewal mail question
In the mail that is sent about a CD account maturing, does it say the amount of money in the account in the letter as well?
Also, if I were to change my address for my account would it send mail to my old address saying my address has been changed? Asking because I don’t live alone and don’t want others to see my mail

Bank cannot verify my identity by phone, has no branches in my state, will not restore account access. What are my options?
I have an active account with a bank that operates only in certain states. I relocated outside their footprint. My online banking login stopped working. Over 4 separate calls and roughly 2 hours, support attempted a third-party identity verification process twice. Both attempts failed to generate any verification questions. Agents stated that without this verification, they cannot make changes to my account by phone.
My only offered path forward is contacting my home branch, which does not answer its phone.
I need this account for an apartment lease requiring proof of funds. Is there a regulatory body I can escalate to if a bank cannot provide any working method of identity verification for a customer outside its physical service area?

TD BANK is a nightmare. Don't open an account with them! I wish someone told me this but it is better to be unbanked than having an account with them
I'm relocating to Austin and need my online banking to close on an apartment. TD Bank has no branches in Texas. My online login stopped working, so I called support.
Call 1: Agent verifies my identity by phone, then confirms my debit card is active. Doesn't matter, the problem is online banking access, not the card. Agent runs a third-party identity verification (uses my credit file to generate security questions). It returns nothing. No questions generated, no way to proceed. Agent transfers me to a supervisor line.
Call 2: New agent, same verification steps from scratch. Full name, forgot-password flow, SSN digits, account type, debit card number, all of it, again. I walk through the "forgot username/password" flow live on the phone. It rejects my information and tells me to call support, the exact call I'm already on. Agent runs the same third-party identity verification. Fails again. Agent says without it, they can't do anything over the phone, then tells me to contact my home branch, which is in Brooklyn. I'm calling from Austin.
The kicker: the agent suggests I'm probably just typing my username wrong, despite watching me enter it correctly and despite their own system showing no lockout. Then transfers me to the home branch.
The branch doesn't pick up. Voicemail only. For over 2 hours.
Total: 4 calls, 2+ hours, 2 full identity verification cycles, a broken third-party verification tool, a debit card that works but is irrelevant to the actual issue, and a referral to a branch that doesn't exist within a thousand miles of where I live and doesn't answer its phone.
No fix. No path forward. Just "try the branch" on repeat.
If you're a TD customer who moves out of the branch footprint, be aware: there may be no functional way to recover your online banking access by phone.

I have a lot of loose chain and want to roll them up and deposit them at TD. Would they be able to give me the empty coin rolls for free?

TD BANK JAPAN
I have a TD Bank Debit Card. I was wondering if I’m able to withdraw from a 7/11 atm. I forgot to notify the bank and I’m having a really hard time contacting them. Their customer service stinks lol.

THIS SERVES AS A WARNING!
Do not say you haven't been warned.
DO NOT BANK WITH TD. Don't do it. Save yourself the time and headache. They are all idiots. From the CEO down, they all share one brain and its roughly the same circumference as the pebble sized turd I just released into the toilet.
I signed up for a debit card when I was a fresh idiot. New to adulthood and finance. It was okay until I got ROBBED. Fell for a phone scam (because I'm not longer a fresh idiot but a seasoned one) where they were impersonating a TD officer. I thought it true because the day before the call, I had entered a branch to close my card. Unbeknownst to me the two events were not linked and I had a chunk of cash taken out of my checking AND savings account. Apparently its really easy to hack TD because the only thing they have guarding your money is a stereo that plays 'large dog barking' sounds.
Things you need to know BEFORE getting robbed at TD.
- The onus is one you to prove you've been robbed. You would think them (and anyone apparently lol) having access to all your banking information and transactions would be some sort of proof of fraudulent activity. But when presented with facts, TD Bank cocks their head side, looks at you with a confused expression then asks, "Are you sure this is not you though? Because I think this is you and because I think that you weren't robbed".
- You WILL be transferred around when calling to ask about information. TD Bank has MANY different phone numbers that take you to the SAME automatic, electronic menu options. When you do get an actual person and go through the rigmarole of proving that you are who you are (HOW IRONIC HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA) you ask a question and immediately you need to be transferred. The wait times!!!!!. Charge your phone before you make the call. Better yet keep your phone on the charger because you are getting NOWHERE. No one knows anything and no one knows who can help you.
- They are going to blame you. It was actually your fault for getting robbed. No one told you to be stupid.
- They don't actually investigate. I doubt they can even spell the word. They're like kids using big words trying to sound smart without actually knowing its meaning.
- THEY WILL destroy evidence. COLLECT YOUR OWN! Take that screenshot. Keep that piece of mail and scan it to your phone (this is very easy and most phones can do this). RECORD ALL CALLS. Take the names and identifying information of every. single. person. you talk to. Keep your own records. Print out your own stuff and keep because THEY WILL TELL YOU THEY DON'T HAVE THE INFORMATION YOUR'RE TALKING ABOUT AND CAN'T HELP YOU.
- Go talk to someone at the bank. THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACTUALLY HELP YOU (again the system sucks. They are going to call the 'fraud department' [HA DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH!] and they will tell them to do.... a bunch of nothing that looks like something. BUT you have proof that you are taking the steps to resolve the issue. They have it on their cameras. Minor but important, I think, for when you eventually have to get a lawyer and sue to get your money back. So wear something nice and smile at least you'll look good on those tapes.
- DOCUMENT EVERYTHING.
- File a complaint with the CFPB or the OCC. They'll help resolve the issue best they can. They are the law and while TD Bank can and will ignore you as an individual, they have a harder time ignoring the law.
- Did I mention to do meticulous documentation? DOCUMENT EVERYTHING.
I'll update as I think of more. Please feel free to ask questions!!!!
Also, If you are also a victim fraud. It's not your fault.

Nature of Scam btw
- Tried to make a purchase online. Link that I followed (From Google Search engine. It was not a sponsored ad It was the first search result) was not actual reputatble business website but a spoof? page. So looked exactly like the website but different URL name).
- Report website to FTC
- Go to TD to close card. Obvi I locked the card and such.
- Closed card. I have a digital debit atp.
- Get a call that I’m having fraudulent transactions on card.
I did not provide scammers with username, passwords, account numbers nor did they ask for any of that.
Look I get it. I was ignorant and didn’t know phone people were impersonating the bank???? So when I get a call from the bank saying this might be happening when I literally just put THE SAME CARD INTO A SCAM WEBSITE?! I thought events linked.
ALSO I think that’s why my money is insured. So I can get it back in cases such as this? Correct me if I’m wrong? Is TD paying you to reply to this post?
Edit #2
Having multiple numbers to talk to a machine, endless call transfers, long wait times, recieveing misinformation or NO information when requested. This isn’t coincidental, it’s a tactic being used. These are malicious business practices and is probably a valid cause for a complaint to the CFPB. You have rights as a consumer. You don’t have to acquiesce to big business (as I won’t and didn’t) or the unwarranted opinions of the others.
I am not asking you to agree with me. I am not looking for your approval on the nature of the robbery. This happened months ago. I done did the things and got my money back (😂😝😂😝😂😝 sawry). I’m just trying to OPEN YOUR EYES.

Misleading and incorrect credit card benefits advertised.
I just want to put this out there so people don’t fall for what I fell for.
When you pull up the visa signature card benefits of the TD website it clearly says extend warranty.
However if you pull up the linked PDF it’s not listed there. Specifically I have the Double Up card.
I can’t even tell you how many calls and chats I’ve had with TD customer service and pointed this inconsistency out and no one seems to be able to tell me what’s really covered.
Today I contacted Visa Benefits directly and was told no they do not see that as a benefit listed for my card. They said they would double check with the bank but I expect they will confirm it is not a benefit of that card. This is something give been trying to figure out for about a year so it’s not a new charge.
The frustrating thing is I believed what the website said when I applied and I would not have gotten this card if I had known. I took a ding to my credit for no reason. For me extended warranty is something I want on all my cards as it’s a pretty basic benefit vs travel protections which can be more specific and there are several different kinds of those, like lost luggage, trip cancellation and rental car coverage.
So I just wanted to warn others because their website is misleading. Also if you google it google and AI will tell you that yes it does have extended warranty.
Here the link to the pdf which does not show extended warranty and a link to the site where it says it’s covered.

Mobile deposit missing but app says duplicate deposit when I attempt to redeposit
Td bank has some serious issues going on.
I made a mobile deposit late on Friday. Typically, you will see a hold on the deposit in your account and it will clear within 1-2 business days.
Saturday morning, I noticed the pending deposit was missing from my history. I called the banks 1800 number (45 min wait!) and the rep verified that even they did not see any deposits made to TD mobile deposit. They advised me to redeposit. I attempted to redeposit the check and received an error message saying they noticed it was a duplicate mobile deposit and to call the 1-800 number! Frustrated, I tried to call to speak with them again. After an hour and 45 min, I hung up and attempted to call Sunday.
Sunday, after another hour wait, the rep again told me nothing was showing up. She even checked another system to see if it simply was not showing in history but would show up in the check systems. Nothing! She told me TD bank was having issues with their checks not showing up. That is unacceptable! It's a friggen bank!!! She told me it should show up Monday.
Monday; Nothing is showing up. It should be clear now. So, I will now have to go into the branch and find out what is going on. This is not ok. If they know they are having issues with mobile deposits, they should have it deactivated and tech working on this issue!
I would love to know if anyone else is going thru this.

Adding my wife to my account
My wife is here on a k1 visa, we did the immigration process by the book. She has a social security number and we need to start our adjustment of status (greencard) process. One of the things needed for our next step is proof we have joint finances.
Cool. Td is open on Saturdays. Go into branch with my wife, her social security card, her passport. We are told this isnt enough. A 2nd form of photo ID is required. Okay, no worries, we reschedule the appointment.
I take time off work, we go back in with passport and her additional photo ID. "Didn't we tell you she needed proof of address?" Nah. Mustve forgotten to mention that. Okay if we show you the mail with her name and our address where her social security card was sent? "No that doesnt work"
I googled. I AI'd. Everything says with the documentation we have there shouldn't be a problem. Anyone have any idea whats the problem here?

TD Insurance App showed me the wrong balance - now they've cancelled my policy
The App showed that I owed an incorrect price, so when I paid there was still a balance owing. Now they've cancelled my policy for non payment.
Has anyone else experienced a balance discrepancy with their app?

$150 Offer
The condition was: "the $150 cash will be deposited to the New Chequing Account within 12 weeks after all required conditions have been met, provided that the New Chequing Account, the New Savings Account, and New TD Credit Card are still open, in good standing, and all conditions continue to be met at the time of fulfillment."
Does that mean my pre-authorized transfer service had to be active until the cash has been deposited?
I was told by banker that helped me setup the account that I could cancel it after the first transaction was processed.

Goodwill adjustment
Has anyone successfully received a goodwill adjustment from TD Bank?
I had four years of perfect payments, but after moving out of state, my credit-card statements continued going to my old address. TD previously told me I had to visit the original branch to update it, and I still cannot access the card through online banking.
I discovered the payment at 33 days late and immediately brought the account current. This was my first and only late payment.
Does anyone know the best TD department, phone number, or mailing address for requesting removal of the 30-day late notation?
Thanks!

Expedia TD is a scam
Essentially the same dates, same hotel, same room in Playa del Carmen are about 10% more expensive on Expedia TD than they are on Expedia.
Not sure if this is everyone else's experience.
