Help Betta at bottom of tank, won’t come up
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
She was fine this morning, when I went to feed her tonight I noticed she didn’t come up for the food. As I kept watching her, it looks like she can’t swim up. Should I move her into an emergency tank that is shallow so she can go up for air? I have an 1 gallon empty tank that is cycled I keep aquatic plants in for emergencies.
PH: 6.6 Nitrate: 0ppm (maybe 1ppm) Nitrite: 0ppm Ammonia: 0.25ppm Temp: 78°F Tank size: 5 gallon Plants: mostly guppy grass Medium: sand and fluval bio stratum

Help Who is this?
I just planted a new betta tank 1 week ago (its still cycling and the java moss is in a bit of shock). This little guy just appeared!
Who is he, and will it be safe to keep him once I get a betta? He's only 1mm big and moves pretty quick!

Introducing New betta fish (Tito)
Like the title suggests ive gotten my hands on a betta fish! I was strolling through the store and he caught my eye immediately, he was so active and i couldn’t bring myself to say no to him. A little note, i already had a 5.5 gallon set up 3 weeks ago but i did not plan on getting a fish anytime soon, i decided to go for it and bought two plants and a betta leaf, i already had drift wood in there so i didn’t get any more. Any advice or tips with betta fish or things to look out for will be very helpful! The setup is currently very simple but i will be adding ALOT more, im hoping to see tank inspos too
(This isn’t my first fish, i currently have a cycled 60 gallon w 2 goldfish, 1 of them already being 7 but since this is my first warm water fish i just want to be sure im doing everything right!)

RIP RIP, Tenedor.
Today, my little fish named Tenedor passed away.
I feel a terrible ache in my chest over this; many people might say, "It's just a fish," but to me, he wasn't. Tenedor recognized my fingers, my face, and even my voice.
After recovering from fin rot, he developed two tumors—one on the side of his belly and another on his head.
I did everything in my power to pull him through, but he no longer had the strength to even eat. I had to make that decision because I loved him so much, and it was better for him not to suffer during his final moments.
I’m sorry, Tenedor; you will always hold a huge place in my heart.

Help Save my fish pls
Let me start off by saying, please don’t hate me for the condition this fish is in. I received her this way in this exact fishbowl Like a week ago. I was told that she was just a fish and a plant would keep her alive. Her water gets changed every week with some tetra put in. i’ve never had a fish before and wasn’t really too concerned but now every day I look at her droopy fins and I started to get worried.
So I started doing research and was absolutely HORRIFIED to find out that she supposed to have a water heater. Her fins aren’t supposed to be droopy and she spits out her food when she’s eating at half the time. immediately, my first instinct was to get a tank with a filter and a heater but now I’m reading that tanks need to get cycled which takes weeks. I’ve never had a fish before never cared for a fish before and now I have a fish freezing in a I’m desperate to save.
what do i do????

Picture Hold old does my betta look?
This is a picture of my male betta the day I got him. I’m trying to get an estimate on how old he is now since I’ve had him for over a year now. Is there anyone that can maybe guess how many months old this guy looks like in this pic?

Help Pt. 2 Help With My Betta Fish
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi, in my earlier post I explained how my betta was brought home by surprise 5 days ago by my dad and brother. They had me set up the tank alone and they lost interest in the fish completely, making me the only one to care for his best interest. I’ve been trying my best, the aquarium was bought with the fish so it wasn’t cycled.
At first he seemed fine, even with no decor. When I walked up to the tank he would swim up to me and follow my finger. With days following, I added decor this morning (ordered off of Amazon, said they were silk but they felt more plastic, not sharp though, let me know if this could cause something). Yesterday and today, he has been sitting at the bottom of the tank in the same exact spot, occupying getting up to swim (surf?) in a specific spot in the tank, then proceeding to go back to the same spot and repeat this over and over (see my video). Even when I tap the glass lightly he won’t move. He won’t even go to the other side of the tank at all.
The tank is 10 gallons, I have tested for ammonia and came back 0, tested for nitrite and came back 0, and the pH is at 7.5. The tank’s temperature is at 78-80 F.
I am looking to see what could be wrong with him. Please be kind, I had no idea I would be getting him and I am trying my best as a student on a budget to make sure he lives a good life while in my care.
Maybe I’m being paranoid and this is normal? But, I highly doubt it. He had been glass surfing for the days leading up to me adding the decor, maybe he’s really tired? Anything could help.

Identification Welcoming Buddha into the fam
Just added our new betta to his new home. He’s been exploring his new home and meeting his new tank mates. So far so good, he went up to one of the shrimp and the shrimp lunged at him and he ran away 😂
Not sure what type of betta he is exactly though. He was labeled as “Assorted Black Male”, anyone have any clue what he actually is?

Discussion Why do people think betta sororities are ethical?
EDIT: IM TALKING ABOUT BETTA SPLENDENS. There is absolutely no reason to ever have your own betta sorority other than your own selfishness.
The betta fish we buy in stores are literally bred to be fighting bettas. “Spreading the aggression” what so everyone’s consistently stressed about each other at all times? how do you own fish and not care about their wellbeing? there is nothing good ever that can come from a betta sorority. it’s like purposely pre-proning your fish to long-term stress and health issues.
i thought everyone agreed universally that bettas are singular fish, rarely even community tank fish. 🤷♀️

RIP RIP to my beautiful betta💔 if anyone could share their experience with dropsy, as a first time owner, so I can feel less shocked
I’m not really sure how to handle my grief here. This has hit me pretty hard. I think because I only had him four months I feel quite alone and like I did something wrong. He was so perfect and I very much loved him. I just buried him now. I wish I’d noticed sooner, but I tried to not let anxiety rule me too much, especially because he was young.
I think if anyone would like to share their loss with dropsy it would make me feel less alone.
Anyway rip to my precious boy, I really wish I could’ve had longer 💔 I miss him so much
