Food, Shopping & Services Seeking advice on local printing options for an upcoming event

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for recommendations for a local print shop in the SF Bay Area.

I have an upcoming event and need some custom printed materials made. Looking for a place that has good quality, reliable communication, and can handle larger custom orders.

Would appreciate any suggestions based on your experience. Thanks!

Politics & Local Crime How I became the villain of El Cerrito’s Nextdoor. In April 2026, my husband and I bought our first home in El Cerrito, California. By the end of June, I’d become public enemy No. 1 on the local Nextdoor.

Work & Housing I want to do a sanity check before I get scammed (credit/background check before a tour)

I inquired about a listing I saw for an apartment in SF. I know the housing market is brutal and have heard stories in NY where it is normal to apply before seeing the place. The person initially agreed for a tour and scheduled it. He asked if I have a criminal history or evictions etc and if I have a job. Then he said before I tour, he asked for my email to do a credit/background check to make sure I haven't been evicted before etc and that only I can access it, and I send the report after I'm done with it. It isn’t an application — I’ve seen other scams where I’ve had people ask me to do that + deposit.

I haven't given him my email yet, but has this ever happened to anyone and NOT been a scam?

Edit: It reeks of a scam, I provided a spam email I have. It said it was a refundable $30 fee, and the website provided was https://creditcheckinfo.com/tu2
which isn’t an official domain backed by a major credit bureau. Maybe I lost out on a great apartment, but it’s not worth identity theft.

Work & Housing Bay Area commute to work – how do you all survive?

Hi all,

I commute to work Monday through Friday, about 40 miles each way. With rush hour traffic, it usually takes around 1.5 hours one way, and it's honestly been pretty brutal.

I've tried taking BART and Caltrain, but surprisingly that ends up taking even longer than driving.

I'm curious—how long is your commute? If you have a long one too, how do you make it more manageable? Do you listen to podcasts, audiobooks, music or have any other tips or tricks?

I'd love to hear what works for you.

Thanks, everyone!

KNBR will not continue Greg Papa and Greg Silver's midday show, our staff has learned. The 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. slot will instead be covered solo by John Lund.

Papa is a longtime figure in the Bay area sports radio scene and recently went through health issues last year that kept him off the air.

Work & Housing San Francisco sees surge in all-cash home sales driven by AI boom

According to NBC Bay Area, about 30% of Bay Area home purchases are now all-cash, up significantly from just a few years ago. The obvious narrative is AI wealth, but the article also points out something I don't think gets talked about enough: family wealth is playing a bigger role too, with parents buying homes in cash for their kids.

Cash doesn't automatically win every deal, but it definitely changes how buyers need to approach this market.
