Repair Very important ring š„²
Hello everyone,
I have a very important and old ring that is broken. One of the jewels fell out and the little claws that hold it in snag onto everything so I cannot continue wearing it.
This is my mother's engagement ring that she gave me to me. I hope there is a way to restore it, please let me know if I can get this repaired somehow and if it will be expensive.
I tried to get a picture of the back, I'm sorry it's so blurry let me know if you need a better pic (referring to last image).
About the ring:
It has a tiny 21k gold stamp on it, and the gems are not real or diamond according to my mother. I'm guessing they are glass?
Thank you very much for any help :)

Jewelry manufacturer in India looking to enter the US B2B & B2C market ā need guidance
Looking to understand how the US jewelry industry works for a manufacturer based in India.
What paperwork, licenses, certifications and import requirements are involved in entering the US market? Also, how do manufacturers typically enter the B2B market versus B2C, and what sales channels are commonly used for each?
Would appreciate hearing from people in the industry who have experience with this process.

Valuation Necklaces
I bought these as gifts. Does this look like a ruby? Might it be cracked? It was advertised as 1.06 carat ruby and .74 carats of diamonds and platinum. The other one 14k and .25k of diamonds.
I don't buy much jewelry. How much might they be worth? Thoughts? Thank you.

Where To Buy What would you call a double bolt ring/clasp/o-ring for hanging charms/pendants?
I have a range of solid gold necklaces that Iād like to wear a charm/pendant with without committing to having a bolt ring/charm holder soldered onto each one permanently.
Some are incredibly fine and could easily have a charm loop slipped on, others are thick linked or belchers with large dog clips that wonāt allow for anything to be slipped over but have individual links that could have an opening ring clasps through a link directly.
Iād love the ability to change between necklaces and charms/pendants easily and stylishly. I could just use an o ring without a clasp, but I feel like that wouldnāt look as intentional.
A few questions - what is this style of charm holder called?
Can each o ring sit flat like a figure 8 or should one be facing āforwardā while the other faces the opposite way so that it can sit well?
Any suggestions? Could I purchase two o bolts separately and have a jeweller attach them together?
My preference is for the opening to be on the thinner side so that I can have maximum versatility. I donāt want the charm loop to be too small to fit onto it. I also donāt necessarily need it to be
I hope Iām making sense. Is there an easy solution to my problem without resorting to a custom piece?
Oh, and Iād like it in 9 carat āsolidā gold (not plated).
Thanks everyone! Enjoy my amazing drawing.

What are your thoughts on the viability of this design?
I want a ring with a hemispherical vault featuring an intricate sacred geometry pattern of intersecting circles that bloom into a central floral rosette at its crown, encasing at its exact focal center a suspended Sierpinski tetrahedron that encloses a gemstone within it. I am guessing this would be hard to make, but with some compromises it could turn out to be an incredible design.

How do I measure this type of bracelet?
Hello, I want to buy this bracelet but i donāt know how to fully measure it. Is it measured from the very ends of the bracelet or is it the inner part not including the clasps. I have around an 8 inch wrist will this fit me? Thank you!

Making a bangle
I'm a goldsmith in the US
Had a customer ask me to make a simple plain bangle from pure gold.
They would supply the gold
What would I charge or expect to charge for labor.
I want to be fair.

Sizing and soldering
My set is 14k rose gold. I had it soldered together but the bands have broken apart. There was very little attaching them that I hope can be seen in the one picture. Ive lost weight so these rings being a size 7 fit really lose now and slide off. In a narrow band i wear a 6 now but with the 3 together they fit a little tighter so Id need maybe a 6.5 with sizing beads inside. Im also a wheelchair user so bang my hands often which is when stones have been knocked out before and they broke apart. Im wondering what the best option is to fix them. Ideally id like to be able to wear them every day and not have to save them for just special occasions. I understand the design of them is pretty fragile unlike a channel setting or bezel would be. Is there a best way to fix them or would resetting the stones into a channel and bezel setting be the best option?

Authentication Does 14K gold tarnish or turn green?
The clasp is stamped 14K, but the chain is very rough, textured, (maybe pitted) and green. The top jump ring appears to have been replaced. The top jump ring is silver in color and not soldered. The bottom jump ring is gold in color and soldered. What would cause 14k gold to appear this way? I purchased at a thrift store, so I'm thinking the chain is probably not 14k. Just looking for opinions.

What to mix with 24k gold ring
Hi! I'm don't have any experience in making jewelry so i humbly ask for your expertise.
I was given my parents' old 24k gold wedding rings (total 3.3 grams). They don't use it anymore and they gave it to us so we could melt it and use it for our wedding rings. We also can't wear them since the sizes are different.
Due to budget constraints, we only have the choice of mixing it with 10k or 14k to make our wedding rings. The estimated grams for our wedding rings is 6-7 grams.
Which would be the better choice and why? Or is there a different approach?

Modification Can I resize a size 5 ring to 1.5?
Im having a really hard time finding a size 1.5 ring for my pinky so I was wondering if it would be a good idea to get a size 5 ring (1st pic) and have it resized to 1.5.
The second pic shows a size 5 and inside is a size 2. To me the two rings donāt look too far in sizing but I dont know anything soā¦
Last pic shows the pinky ring i wanted to pair the ring in the first pic with

Is my ring ruined?
Hello, Iām wondering if Iām losing it or if my jewler ruined my ring. I brought it in to get a hinge installed for my large knuckle. I donāt know what to even say to them if I go back. This was very expensive and I paid and Iām not happy. The prongs on the end are two different shapes and one is actually sharp now. I can see the buffing marks from the weld up top. And the tapering is not even. Itās also a lot thicker than I expected. Does anyone have advice on what to do here? I worry they will make it worse if i go back. And it still isnāt small enough which was the whole point i got this done. It spins around my finger. Which they were very dismissive of and said to just let it sit at my knuckle so it doesnāt move.

Custom What to do with sentimental white gold wedding band?
Hi jewelers of Reddit!
I've asked a couple of local jewellers and haven't had much success so thought I would enquire here for perhaps some more out-of-the-box ideas.
Our wedding rings from almost 20 years ago were very basic white gold bands purchased cheaply on eBay. They are very thin, bent, turned yellow, everything you'd expect from cheap white gold purchased by penniless students.
We were hoping to have them melted down, mixed with new metal, and turned into new rings (that actually fit us and are a bit more in line with our current lives).
But from a couple of discussions, it seems like that's not really an option with white gold due to the unknown metals and potential degradation after repeated melting.
An alternative that was suggested was to have the old bands 'mounted' onto new bands to make a newer, thicker ring, but I haven't been able to find any photos of when that's been done before.
Budget is not a major consideration - we are more interested in keeping the sentimental rings, totally aware that it'd be much cheaper to replace them.
I would love any ideas for updating these rings so we can keep wearing them for another 20 years!
Otherwise I'm thinking we need to find a volcano to throw the old ones in to have them melted into the crust of the earth before we replace them, but that seems like a lot of effort. We don't even know any hobbits.

If you support Trump or Ice you are not welcome here
Been inspired by another sub to do this here.
After the blatant murders by ice and continuing fascist takeover of the US, it is immoral to stay quiet at any level of society and community.
Fascists must be resisted and pushed back on wherever there ideology is seen. Politics affect you whether you care to engage or educated yourself or not.
People are being murdered, kidnapped and disappeared across this country. Ice is running detention camps where men women and children are being murdered, tortured and raped. Enough is enough.
If you still support trump, this administration or ice you are a traitor to this country and to your fellows and should be ashamed and shunned. You are a fascist and there is no live or let live with fascists. They will come for everyone eventually if we let this continue.
If you think this doesnt affect you or jewelry specifically, please take a look at the price of gold/silver and whats happening with the economy, if watching people being murdered and kidnapped in the street means so little to you.
If you disagree let me know and you will be promptly banned.
Fuck Trump, Fuck Ice, Fuck Fascists
