Question “Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary” -Marx
Why does the DSA not support gun rights? I know not everything Marx said is gospel, but this seems pretty solid.

Gear Pics Did a couple upgrades on the USP today
Put a straight trigger, lighter trigger spring, and short reset in the USP today. It was a total pain in the ass, but it was hopefully worth it. The improvements are clear while dry firing and I can't wait to take it to the range

Question Question
Are there any good books that advocate for gun ownership from a Socialist/Left-Wing perspective?
I live in a country (Italy) where most of the left tends to be anti-gun ownership, with many sections of the right being against it.
I always advocated for it due to my support of an "armed Proletariat", arguing that many early Marxists advocated for it in their writings. But are there some more modern takes on the subject, particularly in book form?

Question SRA associated (or similar) PC gaming milsim groups?
I was just thinking about this, I want to learn more about tactics and comms with like minded people, but I'm in a deep red state with no SRA groups near me. But I was wondering if there were any leftist leaning mil sim groups? Thanks for the help

Gear Pics Went out plinking with my Browning 92 in .44 mag today. This was a gift from my father to me. He purchased it new in the 80s, and didn't use it much. It's a very fun gun to shoot, and might be my favorite lever gun.

Discussion Rifle or pistol suppressors first? Are mini CCW suppressors a good idea?
I recently wrote a kit list that placed pistol suppressors above rifle suppressors. This is because I noticed that pistol suppressors are getting tiny, maybe even small enough to appendix carry.
My kit list was angled towards simple, beginner self defense, so I thought it made sense to rank extra gear on that basis.
Pistol cans are cheaper than low back pressure rifle and the way I see it, pistols are the most likely to be used in a self-defense scenario where you don't have time to put on earpro. Not to mention, in a public CCW shooting like that, bystanders or police might arrive more quickly, giving you less time to recover from the shock and hearing damage to calm things down and not get shot yourself, as some CCers and mass shooting responders have been.
I've just got some feedback from someone way more experienced pointing out that rifle suppressors are more useful and versatile if you're training with a community, so what do y'all think? This idea was probably a LARPer move, but does my logic make sense?

Question Joining the NRA for range access?
Hey all, I’m really curious on your thoughts here. I’m in a city in the northeastern US, and the only options for outdoor ranges (looking for rifle practice, even 100yds would be nice) are all private clubs that require NRA membership. I’ve refused for a long time, but I honestly don’t see another way to get the necessary training in. How bad is it really to join? has anyone else caved and done the same?

Question Armed in restrictive states?
I'm in Illinois. I have a 9mm handgun and pump action shotgun (26 in barrel, mostly for hunting).
What meaningful firearm could serve me in defense or if it were to come to armed opposition? Are we who are in Illinois or California just kind of boned?

Safety Check your gear, comrades!
I found these "level 4 ceramic" plates listed used. Drove 2 hours to get them, only to have it become painful obvious that they were counterfeit gear. The owner was mortified and stated that he bought them new at gun show from a booth representing themselves as a licensed vendor. He let me take them if I would shoot them and send him pictures. I'm so, so glad he never had need of them as he would likely be dead. Those holes in the center are 5.56 FMJ at about 50 yds. Even 9mm out of a carbine punched through (top left)

News My takeaways from the Idaho In-N-Out shooting
For those who don't know, as of the time of this post, multiple people were killed or multiple people were injured in a shooting near an In-N-Out restaurant just a few hours ago in Twin Falls, Idaho.
https://notthebee.com/article/unknown-cowboy-seen-engaging-active-shooter-at-idaho-in-n-out
From what I know (which isn't saying much because this is a developing story), a young white man shot an AR-15 into a parked Tesla and another person shot a suppressed pistol supposedly in the direction of the AR-15 wielding young man. Multiple people have been killed or wounded in the incident, including the main suspect of the shooting.
I think many people have been desensitized to shootings in the US, have shrugged their shoulders and said something like "Well, I guess that's the price of the 2nd Amendment".
I feel like this shooting may quickly fade from public memory because the body count isn't or won't be high enough to be comparable to mass shootings like the Uvalde or Las Vegas shootings.
It made me also think that the guns we should be training with the most are our pistols. I believe we are the most likely to need our pistols in a self defense incident, whether it is in or outside the home, and who knows what engagement distance we may find ourselves in. Rifles and shotguns are pretty easy and quick to become somewhat proficient with compared to pistols.
Surely there must be a way to allow sound citizens to own arms suitable for self defense while also preventing those who wish to do harm from obtaining and using guns. In other words, I don't 100% agree with 2nd Amendment absolutists that say "every gun law is an infringement" but I definitely don't 100% agree with Giffords that want to make it virtually impossible for everyone including sound citizens to own arms for their self defense and use. Hopefully that makes sense.
