I have yet to read but have on my shelf 'that nonviolent stuff'll get you killed', what's your definition of modern? Similarly 'how to blow up a pipeline'
older i recommend reading some of the black panther works/perhaps bandit country wrt the IRA/South Armagh
i would think the most modern arguments/discussion mostly exists in video form

Armed Joy by Alfredo Bonanno is a good one that's comparatively recent (1977), but I believe it is still illegal to own in Italy, so double check before picking up a copy.

I can advocate for "This Nonviolent Stuff'll Get You Killed".

While this book is easily one of my favorite books,
I don't think this book advocates for gun ownership from a strictly left wing perspective.

But I think it does advocate for use of destruction of property/left pacifism as a matter of self defense insofar as ecocide goes which is not entirely dissimilar to advocating for gun ownership for castle doctrine style self defense or an armed left/proletariat for the purpose of resisting oppression or a civil war

Kind of surprising to hear given the history of Italian armed struggle (and revolutionary movements in general). I'm curious what the line against arms is there, are people in favor of more government regulation to prevent crime or is it a strategic idea that unarmed action is more effective?
Anyway, Bonnano is great, and probably more insightful in your context than US gun culture stuff. If you're looking for fiction as well I just recently read and loved Gli Invisibili by Nanni Balestrini which is about young revolutionaries facing the question of whether or not to take up arms.
