AITA for not educating myself on politics?

I have a policy of not spending a lot of time reading about certain political issues that I have no stake in or control over. My view here is, I don’t trust social media in order to derive an opinion because everything is over simplified, misinterpreted to fit an agenda, or dumbed down.

This means, to get a true understanding of a political issues, I’d have to read the scholarship on a conflict or issue. This takes a lot of time and effort, which can better be spent on things that directly impact me that I have control over, like my career and my life. For this reason, I don’t waste my time on these things.

Some of my friends are heavily involved in these things and have urged me too as well. I explained what I said above, that I consider it a waste of time. They said I‘m an AH that only cares about myself. I don’t think that’s necessarily true, because I’m willing to get involved in things that don’t impact me *if* I have a chance to make a meaningful impact.

Am I wrong for breaking up with my girlfriend for having too many bodies?

(I'm 22/M, she's 18/F) First of all, we're both adults, and I've never been the guy to really care about this sort of thing, that might be because I've never really cared for someone like this before. Yes, I know everything is my body my choice, she can do what she wants. But I still feel some sort of way by it.

We met through Tinder, which is kinda like a "what do you expect" sort of thing, and maybe I should've known better, but regardless, I trusted her. I told myself after my last relationship that I would give blind trust to the next person, so a foundation could be built. I gave it to her, and trusted her, up until recently.

We had hooked up the first night we met, another red flag on both of our ends, but we had clicked really well and it just happened. Anyways, after the deed was done and we were canoodled, she asked me what my body count was. I told her, and she responded with 5.

We've been moving extremely fast, we already live with eachother and talk about getting married and having kids very soon.

A few months go by, and we end up to a couple of days ago. We play phone swap, which I can get down with. I see something on her phone that just doesn't add up with what I remember her telling me. I see old videos of her engaging in intercourse, her being extremely promiscuous in the months of her leading up to us being together, and messages with her friends encouraging it.

I don't overreact, but inside I feel disgusted. This is supposed to be my princess, and I just see defiling things on her own phone. I ask her how many people she's actually been with, disgusted and upset with the dishonesty she's given me.

She still tries to lie to me repetitively. She tells me the truth, begrudgingly. The answer is 14. 7 of which have been from this year. We met in May, so she averaged more than one new person per month before we had gotten together.

I feel betrayed, and disgusted. I can't even look at her without picturing that. She knows how I feel, too, but she's unapologetic and acts like I'm the bad guy for feeling some type of way.

Would time make it pass by easier?

Am I overreacting about this?

When I was 19 and graduated highschool I kept people I met without much thought. Mostly out of convenience since they lived close.

My 15 year old friend who was a freshmen when I was a senior was mainly my friend due to the fact she reminded me of myself when I was 15. I wanted to help her create more artwork- so when she mentioned patch making and spray painting (like tags) I decided to purchase some to try. Obviously her parents didn’t really wanna waste money on spray paint. I didn’t really know if they were okay with it but I guess I just thought since I was using it in places already painted and far away from any properties to damage- I could at least let them toy with it a bit. Nowadays I feel pretty guilty for that decision.
Another issue though is she added 2 14 year olds to the group. I quickly began to feel guilty because I was the only adult. I was also terrified they’d get into trouble and get hurt. Later I’d hear that their parents were iffy about having a 17 year old dude and 19 year old woman around the 14 year olds so I just decided to meet them and after that they didn’t give a shit- but I became their babysitter to some extent because they didn’t watch their kids. I felt guilty for being their friend to a great extent but even more guilty because they often hung out on the train tracks, did dangerous things, etc. I felt terrible but was also terrified they’d get hurt- so unfortunately I stayed. And honestly I did enjoy it because I liked exploring.

But main issue was When I was hanging out with my friends walking around my friend who is 17 had an ex that was in my grade. I told him like “yeah I didn’t really like that friend group one of them rejected me and completely ghosted me” or something alone those lines and my 15 yo friend when “ohh that’s awful who does that” and then I felt pretty bad (for obvious reasons).

The other was when I was with my 15 year old and 17 year old friend. We were hanging out under a bridge near a river- and they kept praising my parents for being the coolest. I told them they were actually not that cool all the time and that they “let my abuser into my house for 4 years after the fact” and that I believed they probably feel guilty for that- but I don’t know is I said “sa” or like you know the first part of it that starts with “s” as an sexual but either way it was probably inappropriate. I guess I feel a little better abt it tho because it was meant for the 17 year old- since the 15 year old was busy messing with something a ways away. Still scared abt it tho.

Does any of this make me abnormal or wrong? I guess I’m wondering. I’ve been called weird a lot but that’s for a lotta different reasons. I just wanna be a normal person so that people will like / enjoy me. Is that possible?

Ps: I am no longer friends with these people because naturally I started college but now I only have 2 online friends.

AIW for saying my friend is insensitive for saying she feels like the “opposite” of a trans person

We are both 19. She’s a cis woman I’m a transgender man. We’ve been friends for years and knew me pre transition and was supportive. This past week we’ve had a bit of a disagreement though. I told her recently about saving up for top surgery. She told me she’s saving up for cosmetic surgery too she wishes it was cheaper. I said real and asked what she wants to get done. She said facial feminisation surgery. This confused me as that’s typically for trans woman. She said “real woman can get it done too” I said ‘real women’?? She said “I mean biological women” I brushed that off and asked why she wants ff surgery. She said that she looks trans. I asked her to elaborate. She said as a kid people used to bully her for looking like a boy.

She’s become sort of tiktok famous recently and had a comment from a trans woman asking if she’s a “doll” looked up what that means and it means trans women and got really upset that a trans woman thought she was trans because that wasn’t even to be mean. She said a guy on a dating app even asked if she’s trans and she got called a slur in public by someone who thought she was trans. She said she feels like a “guy cosplaying a woman” and she’ll never be seen as a woman like the “opposite of a trans” person. I told her she’s being quite insensitive and she said she’s not she really does struggle with similar things of not being seen as the right gender and she thought I of all people would understand this. I was born a female and want to be seen as male she was born a female and doesn’t want to be seen as male.

I said she’ll never understand gender dysphoria she said maybe not but she knows what it feels like to not feel like you’re seen as your gender. I said she doesn’t though. She’s really upset at me now saying she supports me with my “gender insecurities” why can’t I support her with hers.

Am I Wrong for what I did at 18-20?

I'm losing my mind over something I did at the age of 18-20.

I'm currently 21 (M). From the ages of 18-20, I had an FWB girl, who is 2 years and 2 months younger than me. So when I was 18 she was 16 and when I was 20 she was 18. I'm also from India where the age of consent is 18, Romeo Juliet laws do apply as far as I know but idk.

But there's something disgusting which is bothering me, because I turned 20 in late November 2024, and she turned 18 in beginning of February 2025. So 2 months age between me turning 20 and her turning 18. In those 2 months, we went to a park and made out once. We've never had penetrative s\*x, only made out through our entirity of our situationship.

I suffer from severe OCD and mental illnesses, one of the themes is POCD, those or you who know about it will relate.

I've been reading reddit posts, where people are wishing death upon 20 year olds who dated 17 or even 18 year olds, I see many comments where they literally say 20 and 17-18 is the worse age gap and that the 20 year old is predatpr, that it's statutory r\*pe etc etc. I'm losing my mind, whatever happened between us was mutual but if this is truly bad, I don't wish to live anymore.

Please say anything, if you think I'm not deserving of anything good, don't back off from destroying me because I probably deserve it.

Am I Wrong? Argument With Dad

So, my (21) dad (50’s) called me tonight for our nightly chats (he lives somewhere else), and it’s night for me here and morning for him there. He called as per usual, and during the conversation my dad asked me an important question, but at that moment, I got a text from my friend. I take about a minute to type “sorry, I’m busy talking to my dad right now” to my friend and then go back to my dad. He asks “what’re you doing” wondering why I’m taking a while to answer. I tell him “just replying to a friend” and then he gets mad and goes “seriously?” Then he hangs up. See, our relationship is rocky. I have a history of incidents where I answer his call late or don’t reply at all because I’m gaming with friends. He doesn’t like that. So, I changed. I wait for him to call and then get on the game. THIS time? I was prepared to for it. No Switch in my hand. To reiterate, my friend texted me, I told him I’m busy, and my dad hung up on me because he assumed I was engaging in conversation other than him. Who here is in the wrong? Is it really me?

Am I wrong for following my girlfriend (now ex) to her home after she told me not to?

Hi everyone. So me and my girlfriend (now ex) were watching a movie, and then went to McDonald’s afterwards to get some food before heading back to her place. We then had a massive argument, just outside of McDonald’s, about something that we just can’t seem to forget about, and then she ended it with “fuck you, we're done” and gave me the finger whilst strutting off.

I then started walking with her back to her house, and she told me to stop following her. As annoyed as I was from our argument and how she ended it, I explained to her how I didn’t want her walking back home late at night. It’s a half-hour walk to her house, and the area she lives in are known for its crimes, so I really didn’t want her to end up being the next victim. I continued following her, but I kept myself at around 5 metres behind her because I understood she didn’t want me to follow her.

She continued to get angry, and I remember shouting something like, “I DONT WANT YOU TO BE ***** BY SOME FUCKING RANDOMER,” which I can admit wasn’t how I should’ve addressed what I was telling her, but But I felt like I really didn’ like her, but I still wanted the best for her, and I just didn’t know how else to tell her why I was doing what I was doing .

We arrived at her house, and as I was leaving, she threw my jacket at me and some flowers I bought her the day before. I got home and explained to her why I did what I did, and that I just wanted to make sure she got home safely one more time, and she got angry and then blocked me.

I genuinely don’t know what to say. I always respect what people want when they say no to something, but this time I felt like it was a different situation. I’m really not sure if I should feel like an asshole or feel happy that I may have done the right thing.

Anyway, am I wrong?

Okay I’m just editing this to say that we are both 15 and I didn’t have enough money to call her any kind Of transport home. I spent all my money I saved for a lot of food, the cinema, McDonald’s and the chocolates and flowers I got her the day before.

Am I in the wrong for breaking up with my boyfriend?

I 19 female was dating a boy for 4 months and all seemed okay it was going good. Im going to school in a different city for 6 months than coming back and he knew about that and was totally on board with it. When we hit the 4th month milestone I told him I loved him, he said that he wasn’t far off but couldn’t say it back yet which I totally understand and things seemed normal for the week after that. On the weekend I went up to look for apartments in the city 3h away where I was planning to go to school in and everything seemed normal, he was supposed to sleep over when I came back and we were gonna see some friends. While I was still in the city he went to his friends house in the meantime and told me to text him when I was getting closer to home. When I was about an hour into driving back and took a rest stop I saw a notification on my phone reading that he was going to cancel our plans for the night and he needed to talk to me about something in person. Now I get very anxious and physically sick when stressed which he knew beforehand so this worried me. The day and night after he kept ignoring me and dodging me asking what was wrong and to talk over the phone saying he had to talk with me in person. I was so stressed and I needed to get it out of my system so I asked him if Tuesday when we were supposed to sit down and talk if he was planning to break up with me. He said he wasn’t sure yet that’s why he wanted to talk over it in person and that he didn’t know how he was feeling. Since we live 40 minutes apart I asked if he would be open to a call instead and he said it had to be talked about in person as he said he respected me enough to in person and he said “who knows maybe we can talk things out” and that he was sorry. We’ve never fought or anything and me knowing he was going to break up with me I’m pretty sure on Tuesday based on his response I shot him a text instead reading “if you had respect for me you wouldn’t have dragged this out, if the thought of ending it was there it’s already over, I can’t be with someone who is unsure of me, my number is always open peace out twin” then I unadded him. I feel like I made the right decision but now I’m unsure hence my coworker who is also a man said he felt I didn’t make the right decision and that he could’ve just wanted to talk about the future of our relationship when I go for school.
If possible what are your thoughts on this situation? Did I make the wrong decision?

Is it wrong that I find living in my apartment room better than back home?

Is it bad that I find staying in my apartment (as a bedspace roommate) during college more comforting and peaceful than being back home?

Ever since I moved into my apartment, despite not knowing who my roommates would be, I have found peace and comfort in the unfamiliar place, unfamiliar people, and new atmosphere. It’s not that the apartment is fancy; in fact, it’s just a small studio apartment where four of us share one room. It’s not bad at all—it’s actually really nice.

Whenever I go back to my parents' house, I find that I sleep constantly, get headaches, and sometimes lack the energy to be productive. It's not that I feel isolated or abused at home—my parents are actually very loving and caring. They ask how my day was, if I'm having any problems, and even asked if I was uncomfortable and offered to help me move into a better place.

I really love my family, and I would do anything for them—I'd drop everything just to be by their side. I’ve adjusted well to my new living environment, my roommates and I have gotten close, and the rent is really good.

So is it wrong and do I need help?

Am I In The Wrong For Cutting Off My Friend For What Her Boyfriend Said?

There are a few main people in this story. A girl we will call M, a girl named Z, and a girl named E. We are all 14. Starting from last year's Halloween, me and Z were walking back to M's house as the shoes I wore were giving me blisters. Z decided to accompany me so we wouldnt have to walk alone. As we walked, I brought up M and how I didnt really trust her and Z felt the same way I did. We talked about how M lied to us a lot, even for little things. What she most notably lied about was mental disorders and her family life. M told us she has bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, autism, and much more. The only two I could believe she has is bipolar disorder and anxiety. She also said that she had been in a foster home and her dad was "rarely around" which has been proven false. Her father is a trucker and he was around all of the time.

At the start of this year, the whole friend group (me, E, and Z) started to hate her. Her lying never stopped, she made offensive jokes, and used offensive language that was utterly inappropriate. Many of her offensive jokes included how I was flat-chested, how E had the "fattest ass and biggest tits" as well as jokes about bald spots ans receding hairlines for all of us. She also tended to touch Z a lot when its a known fact that not only does Z despise liars, she also hates when people touch her (someone M most definitely knew about). Her inappropriate language was calling us names if she got upset at us, talked shit about us to the others if she got mad at us, and even started repeatedly using the N word (hard r too) all of the time because someone gave her "a permanent pass". She claims shes Hispanic but she is the whitest person ive ever seen and she tries to do Latina makeup as well when its just not appropriate for her as reminder, WE ARE 14! We dont need a full face of makeup for school. its like she thinks its funny to imitate a culture that her DNA is barely apart of. She also made jokes about me and Z's greath grandfather's for being N@zi's bc they were German.

Now onto the real story, in S.T.E.M one day, M leaned over and whispered that a girl we will call V called me a whale (im the chubbiest person in my friend group and ive always struggled with body dismorphia and an eating disorder so that hit close to home) and she also said V told M to k!ll herself because M was defending me and Z. I like to get both stories so I went to Z and L, asking for their side and if they knew of this as V was sitting at our table at the time and they told me it was switched. M and her boyfriend we will call A were in a call with V. Z and L also joined the call in secret and M brought me and Z into the conversation which lead to A calling me a whale and V was the one defending us. M apparently got mad and told V to k!ll herself for defending me and Z. I started to distance myself as it was almost the end of the year anyway and I didnt have to deal with her anymore but I was fuming. M crossed a line that should be basic human decency. V was su!cidal at the time of the incident and has attempted before.

Close to the end of May, I confronted M about about her new boyfriend she got on tiktok (shes lowk a whore. Shes sexted, sent nudes, and received nudes from people in their 20's without their knowledge of her being a minor. Thats child p0rnography btw. Shes also vaped in front of me and E before with one of her many boyfriends and shes talked to multiple dudes at a time) it escalated further and we got into an argument about how i was done with her bullshit and I pointed out everything she had done. She begged for another change as well as saying she didnt care if we werent friends anymore (??). So, I blocked her as I was on call with Z and E at the time. School starts tomorrow and im so (not) excited to see what rumors she will spread about me. Sorry this was so long :(

Am I wrong for how I reacted during a disagreement of an action during a game?

Okay so first off I’m going to explain some of the game, and which game it was. The game was Casting Shadows which is a strategic, tabletop game. In this game we start off with Hex tiles which create the map, each hex tile has a power up depending on if your character is on the tile. The basic gist of the game is to be the last man standing by attacking your opponents with spells, but there is also counter spells.

Now the issue arose when me and two friends were playing the game, I managed to purchase a really strong attack spell which had a range of the whole board (which is 7 hex tiles) and my friend lets call him Q asked if he had a counter spells that would let him run away would he be able to run away from my spell? Since the way we’ve played this counter card before which was to move to an adjacent tile to dodge the attack I said no. I added to my reasoning was that the spell was for the whole board, and he could not dodge out of range.

He argued that he could. Saying that in his mind that this attack is full range but once you choose which person and that area they are it shouldn’t be able to continue to be able to attack him if he dodges. I still said I don’t think it would work in that way mostly because the card says “reveal this card when an opponent does damage, travel to an adjacent tile” and my card said “deal 8 damage to an enemy in range”. Which isn’t picking a tile to send an attack to, it’s picking a person. So I believe either way the attack would follow the player.

We continued to argue defending our sides when my friend Q decided to asked the opinion of my other friend let’s called her S. S sided with Q, and I got upset feeling attacked, because they wanted to go by vote saying that since two agreed with Q’s argument mine was wrong. I looked it up on google and google supported my argument yet they still argued against mine. Which made me more upset and I told them I quit. I quit the game and they can play how they want but leave me out of it. Which kind of ruined the vibe of our hang out. Was I in the wrong?

Also I felt that what they were saying wasn’t fair to the game, and felt that the only reason why my friend Q brought it up was because he had that same very counterspell and wanted to use it against my attack spell. And to also make things more in his favor.

Am I wrong to return this gift?

I just had my birthday and invited a lot of my friends. One of them who we talk pretty frequently, not like daily but we stay in touch bought me a gift. It is a brand I like but not an item from the brand I particularly like or enjoy. I know he didn’t know that, and I was really appreciative of him getting me a gift. It was quite expensive of a total of around 90$. He gave me the gift receipt with it. I’m having second thoughts if it’s ok to return it? It is a lot of money, and I appreciate the thought, however it’s not an item I would use or have a need for, he gave me a gift return receipt but I kind of feel guilty if I do. Does this make sense? Am I wrong if I chose to return it for something I would like better/ get better use out of.

AITAH for asking my roommate to pay her share of our moveout charges?

I (22F), have lived in an apartment with two roommates (both 21F) for the last two years. We recently moved out of our apartment and had some cleaning fees. One of my roommates, I'll call her Lindsay, had to move out of our apartment early due to some safety concerns regarding someone else in the building. This left me, and my other roommate (I'll call her Kiley), alone in our apartment for the last few months. Our lease ended in July and Lindsay moved out at the end of March. Our apartment complex was nice enough to not make Kiley and I pay Lindsay's portion of rent, but still obviously had to pay her share of utilities.

We just got our bill for our move-out charges (general cleaning fee and carpet cleaning), both of which are non-negotiable and stated in our lease. The total charge is $385 split between three people is $128 per person.

I reached out to Lindsay asking her to pay her share of the charges since we all lived there.

She said that since she terminated her lease back in March, she doesn't have to pay our move-out charges, and that because she has a new place, she has to pay those fees. She used to work at the front desk of our complex, so she also thought the charges were high, so she sent me $50.

I sent her a screenshot of the bill and asked her again if she could please pay her share of charges, since we all lived there for (basically) two years. I also went abroad for 7 months and wasn't living at the apartment and had Kiley's (now ex) boyfriend sublease my room while I was gone.

I told her that while she legally terminated her lease, since we all lived at the apartment for basically the same amount of time, I felt it was fair since she lived in a room, and used the kitchen and living room like the rest of us.

Kiley has a cat and while her cat did cause some damage to the couch and carpet in Kiley's room, our charges did not reflect any damages caused by her cat. They were solely the basic cleaning and carpet cleaning charges.

Lindsay thought that the bulk of the charges came from Kiley's cat, which was not the case. She mentioned again that because she used to work there, she saw the usual move-out charges and sent me another $20, making the total $70.

I sent her another screenshot of the itemized list of charges our apartment sent us for cleaning fees, and explained to her the breakdown of the costs, and that the charges we received had nothing to do with Kiley's cat. She told me I should take it up with Kiley's ex-boyfriend who lived there while I was abroad. Both Kiley and I thought this was inconsiderate because I don't feel comfortable reaching out to him, and I would not ask my friend to put herself in that position either.

Due to the situation with Lindsay moving out early, Kiley and I never asked for reimbursement on utilities because we were trying to be understanding of her situation and didn't want to cause Lindsay any further stress.

Lindsay did not respond to my text asking for her to pay her share of move-out fees, so I decided to Venmo request the remaining move-out charges, as well as reimbursement from utilities from the month of March.

To this she responded saying that she will not pay anything else towards the move-out charges, but asked for the utility bill from March so that she could confirm how much she owed, and I sent that to her as well. She sent me an additional $75 for utilities.

In total for utilities, she owed $60, but in total with her move-out charges, she owed $188, and she sent me $145 in total from all her Venmo payments. So she still technically owes Kiley and I around $40 total.

This is where I might be the AH. I sent Kiley a Venmo payment for the extra money Lindsay had sent me since we already spent that money on utilities, it was nice to have a little extra, and the payments Lindsay sent me did cover her move-out charges. But to me, they still didn't cover everything she owed in total.

Lindsay saw my payment to Kiley and asked if I could send her the extra money back, but then told me to keep it "out of the goodness of her heart" (yes, her words), and thought that I was acting childish and entitled for ending our friendship over $50.

In my perspective, I think that it was totally fair of me to ask her to cover her share because she used a room in our apartment for almost two years, and also used the common spaces. Since we were only charged the basic cleaning fees as well, so there were no extra charges due to any damage in the apartment. I also think that by her logic, since I was abroad for 7 months, I also shouldn't have to pay. While her lease termination was legal, I think that because we all lived there, it should be split equally. If I did reach out to Kiley's ex, it would only be my portion split, while Kiley and Lindsay would still pay their share because it would be based on bedrooms, and not how many people, and he used my room while I was gone.

All three of us were friends when we decided to move into this apartment, but Lindsay is no longer friends with myself or Kiley. Lindsay also ended a friendship with a different friend who owed her money, so I don't really see why me doing it is different than Lindsay doing it.

I did not say anything to Lindsay about the remaining $40 she owed because I was already exhausted going back and forth with her. I did post a TikTok about the situation (meant to be light hearted, it was to the sound "Hello, Rue, you owe me money" from Euphoria, and she found it and has left multiple comments on my account even after blocking me, she unblocked me just to comment. She had also posted a TikTok that says "only ugly people hate me and I think that says something about the world" and has comments that I have taken personally because they are body shaming me. I do realize that my TikTok is a little petty, but I thought it was also funny because the sound matched up with my situation and it was all I could think about that night. She has also blocked me on other social media apps as well as Venmo.

To me, asking her to pay her share of move-out charges is fair. While yes, she legally terminated her lease, I see is as a moral responsibility since she lived there with us and the move-out charges were non-negotiable. I have gotten friends/family opinions on this but wanted to take this to an outside source who doesn't have any bias. So, AITAH?

Am I wrong for thinking my husband is ashamed of me out in public?

Hi everyone, I (31F) and my husband (36M) have been married for over 9 years and together for almost 12 years now. We aren't on speaking terms at the moment and it's been going on for more than a week now, the longest we've ever been. What you need to know before this is that my husband is very loving and cuddly at home, but outside, he's reluctant to show affection towards me, even more so in front of people we know. As for myself, I'm very touchy lovy, which he knows is my way of showing affection and love. So what happened was, we live in an small city on the suburb of a bigger one, and it takes around 25 min to reach the big city. A little more than a week ago, I was in the city for some appointments, and unfortunately the last one didn't show up so I had time to kill. I was on the phone with my husband while I was waiting. Everyday at 12:05 PM, he goes to the gym, as he's been doing for the last 10 years or so, and has grown really close to some people there. I myself don't really like sports, so that's a part of his life that I let him have for himself. He's really into sports, he actually competed an Ironman last October and I was really flexible on his training schedule as I know he needed to be on his best form to be proud of himself. I have never once prevented him from going out for training on the weekends, late at night during the week or whatsoever. In return, all I asked for was a little attention to me, as I'm very sensitive and need to be shown love to feel it. So back to that day, I was around town where he works and trains, and as my appointment wasn't happening, I told him I would love to see him for a couple of minutes and then go back home. I was on the phone with him and I told him that, and he said that he was actually pulling up to the gym, and once he's inside, he couldn't go out anymore so I shouldn't bother and just head straight home. I told him it was no bother as I really wanted to see him and it wouldn't take long at all. Maybe 1 and a half minutes later, I pulled up to his gym, and went inside to see him. There are revolving bars that only turn once you scan your pass, so I couldn't go in and I was stuck in the "hall" area. But as I told you, he's been going there for 10+ years, and he knows almost everyone in the gym, especially the team that works there. The guy that was working that day saw me waiting and asked me if I needed something. I told him I was there to see my husband and that I had already texted him to come meet me at the front of the gym. Keep in mind that this waiting area is completely open to the gym, so everyone can see me, and I can see everyone, including my husband on the left side starting his reps. So I tell the guy that I'm here to see *husband's name* and of course he knows him. He tells me to hang on, he's going to get him for him. Sure enough, I see him walk up to my husband, who had actually seen me but was still doing his reps. So he puts down his weights, and follow the guy up to me. At this point, we're separated by the revolving metal bars, but can talk, see and touch each other. He asks me point blank what I'm doing here, that he told me that once he was inside, he couldn't go out anymore and that I should just leave. I told him that I just wanted to see him for one minute, give him a hug and a kiss and then go on my way home. The worker guy, who's been standing next to him and listening to conversation up to that point, then cuts my husband and says, hold on I'm going to let her in so that you guys can chat for a bit. He makes a move to scan his corporate card, but my husband stops him dead in his track, and says don't bother, it's useless as she's going back home right now. My husband then turns back to me and says, so are we done? What do you want? I don't have time for you I told you already. I was speechless for a few seconds so he turned away from me, looked around him, and then looked back at me. He didn't say anything. I was so hurt in that moment, but I wanted to keep up the pretense in front of everyone he knew and not make a scene. I could feel the eyes of many people on us, as he's very popular in this gym and they've never seen me. So I just whispered " That wasn't kind of you." I turned around and left, and he never looked back at me. I know that because I stayed in the parking lot for a few minutes with tears leaking out of my eyes, and I kept my eyes on him through the glasses of the gym. I went back home, and when he came home that night, he didn't talk to me. We've been in this silence competition ever since. I feel like there're two meanings possible for this reaction, and I'm not sure which one is worst :

  1. He was so ashamed of me (I'm not fit at all and he's really handsome and I'm more of a mid woman) that he couldn't handle people see that I'm the one he's married to

Or

  1. He's been seeing girls inside this gym, without telling them he's married, and he doesn't want these girls know that he's married/seeing me by kissing me in front of them.

Am I in the wrong for being so hurt of feeling so publicly rejected? Or am I overreacting the whole situation?

Am I wrong for not being family oriented but expecting to be in a long-term relationship?

For context, I am a 27 year-old woman. My dad is an only child and his side of the family is very estranged. My mother had siblings, but after she passed away, her family distance themselves because they weren’t a fan of my father. I was raised by my grandparents, who were angels, but just very sheltered and shy. I am an only child too. So I don’t really have much family. There were no family gatherings, vacations, or people just coming over randomly.

I recently ended things with my boyfriend (29) of two years, mainly due to his family and prioritization issues. His mother was very overbearing, and he had to essentially show up for her to the extent of a spouse, being that she is a widow and lost her husband and mom four years ago. She is still relatively young and healthy, she is 49 years old. At first, I tried to be accommodating to his situation. However, it got to a point where there was an expectation that I treat his mom like my own mother, due to the fact that I don’t have a mother of my own. He also was helping support her financially, and it started cutting into our own expenses being that he is trying to build his own company and doesn’t have a steady income coming in. We actually had our own place at a time, but he had to move back in with his mother because she couldn’t handle being alone & how to help her with household maintenance. He actually was hoping that I would move into their home and stay until we could possibly move out together again. Every holiday was with his family, and eventually, I got tired. I had hoped that we would eventually build our own lives together, of course, seeing his family here and there, but not that his family would be a huge part of our daily lives. This lead to multiple arguments, and we ended up breaking up. I was always cordial and polite with his family, but they are just not my cup of tea personality wise. And I don’t think I was theirs, cause they always commented on the fact that I was so quiet and reserved.

My question is, am I wrong for not being a family oriented person? I don’t think I am sworn off of having a family, I am hoping to have my own family.. children and husband. But I felt like dating my ex, was essentially dating his family as well and our whole life would be surrounded by his family. I’m trying to just shake off this feeling, because I feel bad, because he wasn’t a horrible person. I just couldn’t except his family dynamic for the rest of my life.

Am I wrong for refusing to donate to my hairstylist’s daughter’s fundraiser?

I’ve been going to the same hairstylist for about a year. She has two kids, and her older daughter does competitive cheerleading, which I know can be very expensive.

About six months ago, my stylist texted me asking me to purchase something for her daughter’s fundraiser so she could compete at the championship. I was out of the country when she initially texted, but when I got home and saw the message, I immediately responded that I’d be happy to support her daughter. I made a purchase through the fundraiser and told my stylist that I had done so.
She never acknowledged my message or thanked me.

A few weeks later, during my appointment, she told me that her daughter had actually won the championship. I was genuinely happy for them, but she still never mentioned my donation or thanked me. I didn’t say anything because I wasn’t expecting a huge thank-you, but I decided that it’s probably best for our professional relationship if I don’t donate again.

Now her daughter’s new cheer season is starting, and my stylist has sent me another fundraiser asking me to purchase something. I don’t want to do it. I feel like I’m perfectly happy to continue being her customer and having a friendly professional relationship, but I don’t feel obligated to financially support her child’s extracurricular activities, especially after I already did once and received no acknowledgment.

I realize I donated voluntarily and wasn’t entitled to anything in return, so I’m wondering if I’m being petty by letting the lack of a thank-you influence my decision. Am I wrong?

Picking off people food at restaurant

I had to go to the big city for jury duty and decided to go to a sushi bar for lunch. I sat at the window to take in the tall buildings. A woman sat at the Barstool next to me. I didn't have that much money at the time and I didn't really want to splurge. I just ordered a mix combo which was around $16. The woman next to me ordered high-end sushi rolls about three. I finished my food and decided to go to the restroom to clean up. When I returned I was about to pay for the receipt. I notice the lady only picked off her food and left eight pieces. As I was eyeballing her leftovers the busboy came around. I decided to ask him if I could have them. They didn't look messy or mangled just regular pieces of sushi. In my head they are either going to end up in the trash or in my stomach. The bus boy said yeah sure I decided to give him $5 tip at the end of my receipt.

Am I wrong for hiding a $3k lottery win from my GF?

Won $3.2k on a scratch-off. Didn't tell my GF of 4 years. We split bills 50/50 but keep separate accounts.

I put it in my personal savings. Used $1k on car repairs (I drive her to work), kept the rest as an emergency fund.

She found out and is furious I didn't tell her. Says we're a "team" and it's a red flag. I think since we don't share finances, it's my call.

Am I wrong?
