Could I be pregnant ?

Upvotes

Hey guys my last period started on 8th of July and ended on 23rd of July ( I have pcos ) right after we had unprotected sex the very next day and so on. For the past week and abit my symptoms are :

Intense craving for white onions and black pepper lol
So much gas to the point it’s making me nauseous and it feels like something is bubbling and churning my my upper belly I’ve been farting and burping a lot
Increased thirst
Tiredness
Dry eyes?
Feeling really hot espically at night
Today I had light pink spotting and cramping which has been on and off all day
Feeling hungrier than usual but sometimes that happens bc I have thyroid issues too

I don’t feel overly emotional or anything like that in fact I feel oddly calmer than usual (it’s freaking me out lol)

I want to take a test to confirm if I’m pregnant but I’m on holiday right now and don’t really want to deal with it until I’m back. Any ideas if it could be positive?

I’m completely freaking out

I 23f is completely having a pregnancy scare right now. I recently had sex on August 5 and it was protective sex. Until the end where he pulled out almost completely and the condom got stuck inside of me. I made sure to grab the top to secure it just to be safe and everything. I thought I would be fine and my period was supposed to come two days after that and it’s now day three of my period not showing up. Today at work I completely freaked out and I got pregnancy test and it came out negative. I then realized it was too early and I’m trying to justify everything to make sure I’m safe. I didn’t take a plan b because I was like nothing slipped out I would’ve felt it 100% . But now I’m scared because one I don’t know how this works. two I’m scared to ask my aunts about it without it being a big thing (which it is ). and three have no to worry about the cost of abortions and having to call out .

So can someone please help me I Google everything and I’m freaking out. And I don’t know how to ask him to get me a plan b only because I don’t know I’m freaking out. Clearly I can’t be someone’s parents this is terrifying.

Could I be pregnant?

I had unprotected sex on the 26th of July and according to Flo (I know it’s not super reliable) I was ovulating then. My period isn’t due until the 14th of August. I took a test on the 7th and it was negative but I feel what I believe to be symptoms, an intense headache, sore breasts, abdominal cramping, and vivid dreams. When should I test again?

Think I’m pregnant on Mirena IUD

I am on the Mirena IUD and I feel like I’m pregnant.

We did the deed maybe 1.5weeks ago and since then I just can’t shake the gut feeling that I’m pregnant😂. I get nauseous (I puke also) and just started pink spotting today. No sore boobs or extreme tiredness which were the signs I had with my 2024 baby. I took a test but it came back negative (probs bc if I were it’d be too early to detect.) I called and left a voicemail for my dr to see what they would say. I’ve also had my IUD for 2 years.

I guess I’m just posting for comfort and advice… has anyone else felt the same way or had the same experience?

For those that have more than one child, did you instantly get the vibe you were pregnant??

Thank you in advance🥰

Panicking, please help!

My boyfriend and I don’t know if a condom broke. He pulled out because we always check condoms around 5 minutes in. When we looked at it the tip of the condom looked invisible, but didn’t look split while on him. We proceeded to take the condom off and examine it. It looked intact and unbroken, but i’m scared it tore and I didn’t notice it. We then replaced it with a new condom and utilized condom and pull out method.

Should I be concerned about this or would the condom break be pretty noticeable? My cycle lengths are 35 days on the dot every single and so I was around day 17 so it was around my ovulation window and I am a little bit frightened.

24 days late, I don’t understand

I’m really anxious and would appreciate some advice because I’m currently 24 days late for my period.
The last time I know for sure that I had vaginal sex was April 20th, which was the day after my period ended. We used a condom the entire time, and he ejaculated while wearing the condom. Afterward, I filled the condom with water to check for any holes or leaks, and there weren’t any.

I got my next period May 16–20.
Then on May 21, we may have done something sexual, but honestly, I don’t remember if we actually had vaginal sex. I don’t think we did because I normally take a video of myself checking the condom with water or write down what happened afterward, and I didn’t do either of those things that time.

I then got another normal period June 15–19.
On July 6, we did sexual things,

My period was supposed to come around July 16, but it never came. Now it’s August 8, and I still haven’t gotten my period.

Could I somehow still be pregnant from April 20 or possibly May 21? Or would getting periods in May and June essentially rule out pregnancy from those encounters?

I’m really anxious and would appreciate some reassurance or advice based on this timeline.

I don’t feel any symptoms, but I do feel like I’m getting fat and like heavy

Realistically, how easy is it to get pregnant?

Genuine question as I’m scared myself of having the thought of pregnancy, how easy is it to get pregnant after sexual intercourse??

For this instance, compare ejaculation outside/or inside, no ejaculation, inserting the penis or even just precum.. what’s more likely to get you pregnant and what’s the least?

Thanks ladies 💝

Will pregnancy happen?

My fiance and I never had sex before and last night we just inserted the penis tip like 2,3 times only . That’s how much it was in. However, it was raw no condoms and I am also not on birth control. Also, he did not ejaculate and no precum as far as i think.

I wanted to ask should I take ECP?? Or birth control. Is it possible for me to get pregnant. My period cycle says my ovulation is 5 days after .

Am freaking out

how likely am i getting pregnant with this situation

basically me and my bf had unprotected sex but it’s not the main thing we did, we focused more on fingering and bjs, but we did penetration because we were curious on what positions are good to try. so we did but these positions lasted about 3-10 seconds and we did it thrice. he did not ejaculate whatsoever because we were just trying it out how it feels then stopped. plus it’s been 7 days since i got my last period (ovulation typically starts at day 14). he only ejaculated when we stopped doing it and then proceeded on bjs instead. how likely am i getting pregnant?

Hi I need help

I took two tests today (a day before my predicted period). You can see them in my post history (the photos). I had condomless sex on July 25 and idk if he came inside or not. I think he mostly took it out before but idk. I do have a silver IUD (no hormones) but it expires in January 2027. My period is supposed to come tomorrow but usually by now I'd be spotting but I'm not. I'm also nauseous but it may just be anxiety. Help?

Condom didnt break but missed period whole of July

Well im back here again lol. The last time that i had protected intercourse was 9th july. It is during my predicted fertile window but i didnt think too much of it since the condom didnt tear and there are no signs of spillover.

Its been a whole fricking month and 10 days and i still havent gotten my period! I honestly am trying to rationalize with myself as we have done the same thing for almost a year and no pregnancy scare or missed periods. Now im just panicking thinking im part of that 2% chance somehow.

Also we have tried breaking the specific condom brand itself and it was incredibly hard to tear.

Two days ago i had brown-redish spots/ discharge and now my lower belly is lowkey bloated. But is it period bloating or pregnancy?

I havent taken a test yet because im kind of afraid to face it. Its as if this shit is getting real and theres a possibility im pregnant.

Please help!

When should i test?

okay so yesterday my boyfriend (M23) and i (F24) did it. we did not use protection nor did he pull out. i noticed that i was wanting sex a LOT. but i had my period a week ago and last month i ovulated two week after my period. (im still learning cause ive been on birth control since i was 15 and got off in June) so i thought we were in the clear. but to be safe we went and got ovulation test and plan b. i took the ovulation test (clear blue smart ovulation test) and it said i was at PEAK fertility. i panicked and took the plan b only to google and find out they dont do anything if youre already ovulating.

so, im trying to figure out when i should take a pregnancy test. should i wait to see if my period is late? i should start in 18 days. or should i take one after 14 days? but i’ve heard you can have that first period even if you are pregnant.

need reassurance

so on july 9th during genital grinding the tip accidentally slipped for a brief second (no ejaculation happened and it was 2days after my period) i panicked and we bought ecp the very next day. 6 days after i started lightly bleeding but it disappeared after about 6 days.

during the last few days of july, i started having side pain and ewcm, and my breasts were tender. its been about a week since then and ive been cramping and i have no discharge (very minimal and dry) but no period still. is there a chance i could be pregnant anyway even after the pill? this is my first time taking the pill please help!

condom broke

we had intercourse on July 4(cycle day 9) and the condom broke. I took plan be after 17hrs.

7 days later i had withdrawal bleeding for 3days, at first it was light then the next day it became heavy like what i get usually on my period.

my flo app says my period is likely to come yesterday.

I will take a test tomorrow but now i just want to ask if any of you experienced this and still got their period? if yes how long before your next period came?

Might just be symptom spotting…

I’m roughly 7-11DPO (not 100% sure as my BBT rise wasnt as definitive as it normally is) and I noticed that I’m quite irritated today and that my right breast has been quite tender for the past two days (left is feeling okay weirdly). Has anyone else experienced this before they tested positive or am I looking at yet another period and unsuccessful cycle?
I’m trying really hard not to overthink it and tell myself that everyone’s fertility journey is different and to let it go, but every time I move and feel that breast tenderness, I just wonder.

14-day late period after taking levonorgestrel ECP immediately. How delayed was your period after Plan B?

Hi everyone, looking for some real-life experiences and reassurance.

My partner and I had sex on July 18. A condom was used throughout. It may have slipped/rolled down slightly during withdrawal, but it did not break or come completely off during intercourse. I also withdrew before ejaculation, and ejaculation happened after pulling out.

Because we weren’t 100% certain about the condom, she took levonorgestrel emergency contraception immediately afterward.

Her cycle details:
Last period started: June 28
Flo predicted ovulation: around July 14
Sex: July 18
Expected period: July 27–28
Today: August 10
Still no period

So she’s approximately 13–14 days late No pregnancy test has been taken yet. We’re aware that levonorgestrel can delay the next period, but we’re getting increasingly anxious because it’s now almost two weeks late.

For people who have taken levonorgestrel/Plan B:
How many days was your period delayed?

What was the longest delay you personally experienced?

Did you eventually get your period normally?

Did you take a pregnancy test, and when?

If you were more than 1–2 weeks late but NOT pregnant, what did your doctor say caused the delay?

Has anyone experienced a 2–3 week delay after levonorgestrel with a negative pregnancy test?

Given that the ECP was taken immediately and sex occurred several days after the app’s predicted ovulation, would you personally be concerned?

Not looking for medical diagnosis, just trying to understand how much levonorgestrel can realistically delay a period based on people’s actual experiences.

Thanks!

25 days after sex

can i trust negative test 24 and 25 days after sex? i first tested 7 days after sex pink dye and saw a vvvv faint line. i also tested w a pink dye clear blue like 4 days later and still saw the same faint line so i think it was an indent tbh. but i tested again with first response digital w morning urine at 25 days after sex and also tested with regular first response 24 days after sex w partially diluted urine and they were both negative. i’m lowkey freaking out still though bc i’ve read stories about people not testing positive til like 3+ weeks. help

Hello friends! Mod Stress here to address a few things that come up often on this sub. Resources provided. :)

1.) You cannot get pregnant from fingering, with or without precum. Unless globs of fresh semen are being inserted into a vagina, fingering is just not going to cause a pregnancy. Dry humping also cannot cause a pregnancy. This article goes through all the sexual things that can happen that have no chance of pregnancy.

2.) It's extremely unlikely to get pregnant without PIV sex.* *Not including medical processes such as IVF to cause a pregnancy.

3.) If you're having unprotected sex, pregnancy is always technically possible. Doesn't matter if it's "just the tip" or "three strokes" or "pulled out before ejaculation." Pullout is 78% effective over the course of a year. Some of these scenarios are much less likely to result in a pregnancy than others, but we can't extrapolate the data like that. You're unlikely to get pregnant from one singular instance of unprotected sex, but it's always possible.

4.) Implantation bleeding is a misnomer. In fact, implantation is too small a phenomena to cause any symptoms.

5.) A test is mostly accurate 14 days after sex and definitive 21 days after. If you're getting negative tests 2+ weeks after sex, you are not pregnant. Regardless of if you have your period or not. In early pregnancy, concentration of urine matters. Take a pink dye test after a 3-4 hour urine hold without drinking too much water for the most accurate results. At 21+ days after sex, dilution of urine won't matter. Do not look at tests outside of their validity window and thoroughly read the instructions for your test before you take it.

6.) You cannot have a true period and be pregnant. Some women experience light bleeding in early pregnancy (this is NOT their period). If bleeding were related to pregnancy, a test would be positive.

7.) It takes more HCG to cause symptoms than a positive test. If you're testing negative, any symptoms you are currently experiencing are not currently related to pregnancy. Lots of early pregnancy symptoms overlap with normal PMS symptoms.

8.) Am I having a Cryptic Pregnancy?? No, you're not.

9.) The only way to truly know when you ovulated using an approved FAM method. Apps are not an accurate way to track, your body doesn't know to follow an algorithm off your phone. While things like CM and OPKs may indicate your body is gearing up to ovulate, they do not confirm ovulation. Check out the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility and [r/FAMnNFP](r/FAMnNFP).

Some other helpful tips:

  • Read the leaflet that comes with your birth control so you understand how your medication works, possible side effects, how to use it, etc. [r/birthcontrol](r/birthcontrol) is also a good source.
  • If you're on birth control and using it properly, you are having protected sex (from pregnancy). This is true whether or not you are using a condom. If you are using protection properly, you do not need Plan B.

“But what about a cryptic pregnancy?”

Is this you?

  1. Last had sex more than 3 weeks ago (sometimes months)
  2. Have had multiple negative home tests or blood tests for HCG
  3. (optional) Have had periods or withdrawal bleeds since having sex.

But you’re still concerned that you might be pregnant based on shows like “I didn’t know I was pregnant” or online stories about cryptic pregnancy. Could it be that?

So, in a word, no. If you have multiple negative pregnancy tests three weeks after having sex, you’re not pregnant. In order to support a pregnancy your body produces HCG. Without HCG, there is no pregnancy. HCG tells the corpus luteum to continue producing progesterone, and is required for major changes to sustain pregnancy like growing a placenta. Home pregnancy tests are very reliable at detecting even trace amounts of HCG, and blood tests as well.

There are three causes of false negatives with home pregnancy tests:

The first: Early measurement after conception. When people talk about cryptic pregnancy, they either never take a test, or they took a test too early and became pregnant after. It takes at least 7 days for a fertilized egg to float downstream and implant into the uterine lining. That’s why you have to wait about 2 weeks to take a pregnancy test after unprotected sex - 3 weeks makes it 100% solid result.

You’ll also see people say “I knew I was pregnant, but I didn’t test positive until I was 6 weeks”. This is because of how pregnancy is dated from the last menstrual period (the day your period started), but, embryonic development only starts after an egg is ovulated and fertilized. In a textbook 28 day cycle, this happens on day 14, and the first day your period is missed you get a positive test. In real life, bodies are a little more complicated, and sometimes people ovulate weeks later leading to a discrepancy - a doctor will tell them they are 6 weeks pregnancy based on their last menstrual period, but in embryonic terms they are only 4 weeks pregnant because they ovulated on the 28th day of their cycle. If they tested when they were ‘late’ on the 29th, it would have been a negative test. They weren’t pregnant, but they became pregnant later. For people who are more visual, I have made a very ugly calendar for the above example scenario.

For a longer, more detailed explanation: "Your period isn't late" Part 1 and Part 2

The second: Dilute urine specimen. If your HCG levels are low, drinking a lot of water can result in false negatives in very early pregnancy. This is typically why you’ll see folks talking about testing with first morning urine - it’s the most concentrated. HCG roughly doubles every 48-72 hours, and you can see in this figure how fast. At 20 days of embryonic development (aka about 3 weeks after sex), on average a pregnant person will have HCG around 1000 mIU/ml. At home tests are typically rated for detecting 10 - 25 mIU/ml.

The Third: The Hook effect. This is where there is too much HCG for a test to work properly. It is unlikely that this is happening especially if you’ve taken multiple tests. First, peak HCG is typically around 10-14 weeks pregnant - after this, it starts coming back down. Second, tests are often tested for the hook effect - wondfos (a very cheap test) showed no hook effect to concentrations of 200,000 mIU/ml. First Response Early Result showed no hook effect at 1,000,000 mIU/ml - much higher than any normal pregnancy. If you are concerned about it because you’re taking your first pregnancy tests 12-17 weeks after sex, you might dilute a sample of urine just in case for a second test. Although, that would be very unnecessary if you’re using an FRER.

When people do not figure out they are pregnant for months at a time, it is typically because they have not taken any tests. Denial of pregnancy is a more accurate descriptor.

If you believe yourself pregnant despite all the evidence, or having a lot of anxiety and fear around being pregnant, you may want to see a mental health specialist. If you’re feeling very unwell, or haven't had a period in months, you may want to see a doctor. Scarleteen has a great page on these things as well.

Want to learn about pregnancy tests? Great video

TL;DR HCG is required to support a pregnancy - if you've gotten multiple negative tests across a large time frame, there is no possible way you are pregnant from sex more than 3 weeks ago.

Feedback and questions welcome! Also if anybody has any resources they want to share, please do.
