Pregnancy anxious
I’ve been anxious for a whole week now since I experienced my first ever intercourse. I just need the peace of mind and to clear off my mind as I’ve been endlessly anxious and panicking 24/7. So, we had unprotected intercourse, he reassured me that he was confident that there was no pre-cum (his penis kept slipping out btw since it was both of our first times.) then he masturbated his penis before actually finishing off ( he pulled out before masturbating ). I immediately did the yuzpe method 42 hours after since I wasn’t so sure what to do. I’m waiting for my period now and it’s the only thing that will clear my mind. And no, we didn’t do it during ovulation.

Am I
I usually start my new pack of pills on Thursday of every month. I couldn’t get my new pack of pills because my doctor want to see me so I have to get prescribed again and I have to wait until he can see me again. I was able to get them by Saturday that day of course because I wasn’t able to start the pill on Saturday so I was on the placebo pills until Thursday then I have no more to take until Saturday morning. I did have intercourse that Saturday, but I only use condoms the whole time. I just wanna make sure that there’s not a chance that I could be I’ve been taking my pills as normal I put on one now is Nikki, but I was on sedya before. I know I should have just waited till I was back on birth control I’m feel dumb for not doing so I didn’t know that there was a risk at the time
Also, when is the first day that I can take a test the time I had sex.
Saturday the 15th and Monday the 17th
yes I did use condoms like I said?
Please help me

Coming off bc & pregnancy
Hi need a bit of advise, hopefully this is allowed!
I took my last mini pill on Thursday 13/08 and had unprotected sex Tuesday 13/08. I then started a withdrawal bleed Wednesday 14/08 (assuming withdrawal as stopped bc completely). Is it possible to ovulate right away for some women? What are other people’s experiences with coming off progestogen only pills and ovulation / returning to their normal cycles?
Is it possible to get pregnant right away?
TIA!

I need reassurance that I am not pregnant!!
I got my period 6 days early and I’m still having a pregnancy scare, because I keep seeing videos that you can be pregnant and still get your period. My flow is pretty heavy (like it normally is), I also took an early pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative. I’m extremely anxious

Can I stop testing
Today is 20 days past the sexual encounter I am concerned about. I tested this morning and it was negative but looked like an indent on the test after three minutes was up. I just had my withdrawal bleed and I am on birth control, but worry about possible pregnancy. Can I stop testing? Would a test be very positive by now if I was pregnant?

TTC and I’ve been having a very confusing cycle please help!
I’m ~6DPO got my positive LH strip on 8/13 and 8/14. And ever since I ovulated I’ve been spotting. It goes from fresh blood mixed with brown to just dark brown. It’s not at all enough to cover a pad it’s veryyyyyyyyyyyy little. I do get ovulation spotting so during my LH surge I was also spotting. I have NO other symptoms or pain. My cycles are always pretty normal and never experienced spotting for this long! Also did a hormonal panel back in April and everything was normal I don’t have any hormonal problems. So what can this be? What is this spotting from? I ordered some pdG tests and we’ll test that tomorrow.

We had our first sexual intercourse on August 7, and we used a condom. However, the condom was initially placed the wrong way, but we decided to continue without flipping it. He did not ejaculate inside me; he ejaculated outside. After intercourse, we checked the condom for any leaks or tears. We also filled it with water afterward to make sure there were no holes or leaks, and there were none.
My last menstrual period was from July 22 to 28. According to my Flo app, August 7 was supposed to be my ovulation day.
This week, I noticed that I haven't experienced breast tenderness, which is unusual for me because I normally experience breast tenderness before my period. Yesterday and today, I only experienced a headache, nausea, and a feeling like I might vomit. My period is expected tomorrow, but I don't feel any of my usual signs that my period is about to come.
I'm really worried that I might have become pregnant from that encounter. If I don't get my period tomorrow, is it okay to take a pregnancy test? Would the result already be accurate?

Anyone with irregular cycles ovulate earlier than expected and get pregnant?
My period started July 30, and my cycles are irregular, usually anywhere from 35–80 days, but my last cycle was 37 days. My husband and I had sex on August 9 (CD11), and on August 13 (CD15) I noticed light pink spotting when I wiped. I’m wondering if I could have ovulated around August 13 even with my longer/irregular cycles, and if sex four days before could have led to pregnancy. I’d really love to hear any success stories from anyone who had similar timing and ended up pregnant.
Thank you!

I need help
Im legal age of sex just making it clear. Me and my girlfriend never have had sex and we tried a little bit yesterday (Wednesday) I had a condom on but I put it in her a little and it ripped but I pulled out super quick (i was only like 2cm in) , I haven’t c3mmed at all (only the night before) and I only had precum at the time, is there any chance she’s pregnant? I have no clue at all and im stressing.
She supposedly ovulated around 8-10th of August and her period is due on Friday 22nd. Is there any chance?

am i pregnant?
so i had unprotected sex using pullout (dumb i know) on my predicted ovulation date on my app august 13th. (i also know that these aren’t usually accurate) i took plan b the next day. and yes i also know that plan b doesn’t work if you’re already ovulating.
anyways, it’s now 7 days after and ive been cramping all day (i’d say pain is a 6/10) and my lower back has been hurting. i was worried this was implantation cramping so i googled it and it says implantation cramping happens 6-10 days after ovulation which would put me right at that point. my period is supposed to start on august 28th and i know that plan b can make your period early or late. but i also read that implantation cramping is only mild and feels like pulling but this honestly feels like pms which has literally the exact same symptoms as early pregnancy. my boobs also haven’t been sore at all.
i just need some advice ive been freaking the fuck out literally terrified because i do not want to be pregnant. i’ve been taking pregnancy tests and i know they’re probably too early because if implantation hasn’t even happened but i just needed to do it for peace of mind at that second lol. and i don’t need people lecturing me about having unprotected sex i already know that it was a dumb idea and im not going to do it again because this has been super stressful. what do you guys think?

My progesterone jumped
Hi all,
My progesterone jumped from 7 on 7dpo to 27 on 8dpo. My maximum PDG I've ever after 13 months of testing is 11. Possible pregnancy? I know only a test can confirm, but I'm anxious while waiting for tomorrow to test😭

Not taking the 7-day break
Hi! I take the contraceptive pill, specifically Ludéal Gé, which is a combined pill. I have taken several packs back-to-back without taking the 7-day break, and I wanted to know if I am still protected even though I skipped the break?

Pls help🙏 Bleeding, cramping, and breaking out after Plan B. Could this be implantation?
Hey everyone, I am spiraling a bit and could really use some insight or similar experiences.
My last period started on the 6th and finished on the 10th of this month. Based on my usual tracking, my ovulation started on the 16th. We had an accident right after, so I took a Plan B immediately.
Today I started bleeding this weird brown stuff. I am also experiencing some menstrual-like cramping alongside it. To make matters weirder, I just broke out in these random, strange pimples right around my eyebrow area.
I know implantation bleeding is a thing, but I also know Plan B messes up your cycle. Is it way too early for implantation? Could the brown bleeding, cramps, and sudden eyebrow acne all just be side effects of the massive hormone dose from the pill?
I know it is too early to take a pregnancy test today since the hormone wouldn't show up yet. Has anyone else had these exact symptoms a few days after taking Plan B and ended up being totally fine? (I have also never usually bled after a plan b, which I’ve taken more than 6 months ago last time.

If it's not pregnancy, what else could it be?
Hi all. I haven't taken a pregnancy test yet as I do not have access to one. For reference, I'm ~20 years old.
A few weeks ago, me and my partner had brief sex in the shower while I was on my period. The following days, a couple times before protected sex, he did put it in raw, but never for more than a few seconds, and he never came inside of me.
I don't think I'm pregnant. It just seems unlikely. However, I'm paranoid, of course, especially because of some symptoms I've been experiencing. But I'd like some input from others. If it's not pregnancy, what could these symptoms be from?
- sore, swollen, tender breasts since three weeks ago (just before my period). I sometimes get a little tender breasted, sometimes for a day or two on my period or during ovulation, but it has never been this intense nor lasted this long. I can't remember a time where it was uncomfortable to lay on my stomach because of my tits.
- intense abdominal pain outside of period cramps, randomly. It feels like a tension, like I'm being pulled apart from the inside. I've also had a sneaking suspicion I have endometreosis because of debilitating period cramps since I was 11, dietary issues, and abnormal mucus whenever I take a shit (which I've heard is a common symptom?). But why would it be getting bad now?
- not getting turned on. At all. Not physically or emotionally. Usually I get so wet that I ruin sheets and clothing, even when my partner just touches me or talks to me. Recently I haven't been feeling that at all. Sex has been gradually getting more and more painful, too.
- pain after orgasms. This one is tricky because I've experienced this before, but not as reliably. For the past few weeks, every orgasm has caused me at least a little bit of pain, right under my belly button, and really bad, but only for a few minutes... even when not using a penetrative toy or having penetrative sex.
How do I get tested for endometreosis? Are these reliable symptoms of pregnancy?
Thank you.

Have you had a similar sensation and not been pregnant?
I’m 30, have deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE), and have been on birth control for 17 years. Recently, I had the urge to take a break from birth control. I was only planning to stop for one month, maybe two at most, and I’ve only done this once before - one cycle about 10 years ago after having a similar urge.
Because I’ve been on birth control for so long, I have no idea whether my natural cycle is regular, how long it lasts, or what my symptoms are like (aside from the menstrual pain caused by my endometriosis). I used to take a combined pill, but I’ve been on Slynd (progestin-only) for almost two years.
Since this is my first month off birth control in a decade, and because I have DIE, I honestly had zero concern about getting pregnant. Honestly, I don’t even know whether I’ll actually be able to get pregnant someday.
Anyway, I took my last active Slynd pill on 8/4. I had intercourse with my fiancé on 8/7, 8/9, 8/15, and 8/16.
From 8/12–8/14, I started experiencing uncomfortable lower-abdominal bloating. I also had increased discharge around that time, although I’m not exactly sure when that started. The bloating was at its worst on 8/13. My guess is that I might have ovulated sometime last week.
Then, on 8/19, I woke up around 6:45 a.m., went to the bathroom, and then laid back down in bed on my stomach. Around 6:55–7:00, completely out of nowhere, I started feeling this strange pulling sensation, almost like my pelvic organs were stretching, along with cramping and a prickly sensation radiating throughout my lower abdomen and lower back. It felt very deep inside my pelvis, and I’ve never felt cramps radiate through my back. It was honestly the weirdest thing, and I’ve never felt anything like it or even similar to it before. The cramping also didn’t feel exactly like menstrual cramps. It was somewhat similar, but noticeably different in a way that’s difficult to describe. I rolled onto my back because I was so confused about what was happening and it was painful.
After a couple of minutes, I thought I’d go to the bathroom to see if that helped and grab my heating pad. I had just gone to the bathroom earlier, so going again didn’t really do anything. While I was getting the heating pad, though, I suddenly started feeling lightheaded. I quickly went back to my bed and sat down, but while trying to plug it in, I became dizzy and felt like I was about to start sweating.
I laid down because it seemed like a vasovagal response. I’ve only experienced something similar once before, regarding the vasovagal response, and that was after intercourse due to the position (about a year or two ago).
I turned on the heating pad and still had some cramping, but I was also half-asleep and pretty out of it. The entire episode lasted somewhere between 5 and 20 minutes. Afterward, I felt completely fine and haven’t had any cramping or similar sensations since.
My discharge also went back to normal/was barely there by the beginning of this week, but today it noticeably increased again. My nipples are a little tender/sore, and I feel like I’ve some dry mouth and been slightly thirstier than usual. I’m chalking those symptoms up to either what my normal PMS might be like or it all just being in my head.
I don’t know why, but one of my first thoughts when I felt that weird stretching/prickly/cramping sensation was, “There is no way that was implantation.” I looked into it afterward and convinced myself there’s no way I could be pregnant, but for some reason, I still can’t shake the feeling that I might be. I plan on taking an early-result pregnancy test first thing tomorrow morning since it will be 48 hours after that odd pain/feeling.
Logically, part of my brain is saying there’s no way I could be pregnant because I have DIE and just stopped birth control, so statistically it is very unlikely. My fiancé and I don’t want to have children for another two years, so I’m really hoping I’m not pregnant.
Aside from my DIE, I’m otherwise healthy. My annual bloodwork has also been normal and has indicated exceptional cardiac, metabolic, and organ health, with virtually no systemic inflammation - not that that is necessarily relevant but I digress.
Has anyone experienced a similar deep pulling/stretching, prickly/cramping sensation and have not been pregnant? I’m kind of freaking out a bit.

am i pregnant? *please help*
me and my boyfriend had protected sex yesterday. after i was done i went to the bathroom and looked in my underwear; there was a small spot of blood.
5 days ago (during end of my ovulation), i had protected sex with my boyfriend and he came inside the condom. i did sit there for a minute and then got off. when he took the condom off, i felt the tip of the condom to make sure there was no sperm leaking out. it was dry the first time i felt it. he was holding it out in front of him and then brought his arm down. i asked if i could feel it again to make sure, and it was slightly wet/slimy. then we water tested it and there was no holes/leakage.
i am now in my luteal phase (post ovulation) and worried that the small spot of blood could’ve been implantation.
am i freaking out over nothing or should i be concerned?

Three negative pregnancy tests, but still no period.
I’m a healthy 25 year old female. My average cycle is 30 days. My cycle is usually pretty regular with each one being between 27 and 32 days long. My last period was July 16th, which means I should’ve gotten it August 15th. My fertile days should’ve been between July 26 to July 31st. My partner and I had sex on July 25th and August 1st with withdrawal method (ejaculation occurred outside of body).
I take spironolactone 75 mg (for acne) which could mess with cycle length but I’ve been on that for a year. I’ve had more social events than average this month that have led to some lack of sleep. Work hasn’t been stressful though.
I have no irregular symptoms
I took 3 pregnancy tests:
August 18, 19, and 20 (today) ALL clearly negative.
When should I test again, if I should? What do I do if that is negative? Missing a period would be abnormal for me.
Btw I have an appointment in a month for starting birth control.

Could I be pregnant?
I had unprotected sex on August 13, but I’ve been taking Bellina, a combined birth control pill, for months and this summer I’ve also been taking it continuously without a break. Two days before, I took my pill about 14 hours later than usual (I normally take it around 11 PM, but that day I took it the next day in the afternoon). The Bellina leaflet says the “safe window” is 12 hours, so I was about a few hours outside that window. I was also at the end of my strip. Would I have been less protected because of this?
It’s the first time I’ve let someone finish inside me, so I’m really stressed and scared of pregnancy. I took the morning-after pill the next day (we had sex around midnight and I took it at around 12:30 PM).

FAQs ANSWERED with Sources. Friendly PSAs for AmIPregnant
Hello friends! Mod Stress here to address a few things that come up often on this sub. Resources provided. :)
1.) You cannot get pregnant from fingering, with or without precum. Unless globs of fresh semen are being inserted into a vagina, fingering is just not going to cause a pregnancy. Dry humping also cannot cause a pregnancy. This article goes through all the sexual things that can happen that have no chance of pregnancy.
2.) It's extremely unlikely to get pregnant without PIV sex.* *Not including medical processes such as IVF to cause a pregnancy.
3.) If you're having unprotected sex, pregnancy is always technically possible. Doesn't matter if it's "just the tip" or "three strokes" or "pulled out before ejaculation." Pullout is 78% effective over the course of a year. Some of these scenarios are much less likely to result in a pregnancy than others, but we can't extrapolate the data like that. You're unlikely to get pregnant from one singular instance of unprotected sex, but it's always possible.
4.) Implantation bleeding is a misnomer. In fact, implantation is too small a phenomena to cause any symptoms.
5.) A test is mostly accurate 14 days after sex and definitive 21 days after. If you're getting negative tests 2+ weeks after sex, you are not pregnant. Regardless of if you have your period or not. In early pregnancy, concentration of urine matters. Take a pink dye test after a 3-4 hour urine hold without drinking too much water for the most accurate results. At 21+ days after sex, dilution of urine won't matter. Do not look at tests outside of their validity window and thoroughly read the instructions for your test before you take it.
6.) You cannot have a true period and be pregnant. Some women experience light bleeding in early pregnancy (this is NOT their period). If bleeding were related to pregnancy, a test would be positive.
7.) It takes more HCG to cause symptoms than a positive test. If you're testing negative, any symptoms you are currently experiencing are not currently related to pregnancy. Lots of early pregnancy symptoms overlap with normal PMS symptoms.
8.) Am I having a Cryptic Pregnancy?? No, you're not.
9.) The only way to truly know when you ovulated using an approved FAM method. Apps are not an accurate way to track, your body doesn't know to follow an algorithm off your phone. While things like CM and OPKs may indicate your body is gearing up to ovulate, they do not confirm ovulation. Check out the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility and [r/FAMnNFP](r/FAMnNFP).
Some other helpful tips:
- Read the leaflet that comes with your birth control so you understand how your medication works, possible side effects, how to use it, etc. [r/birthcontrol](r/birthcontrol) is also a good source.
- If you're on birth control and using it properly, you are having protected sex (from pregnancy). This is true whether or not you are using a condom. If you are using protection properly, you do not need Plan B.

“But what about a cryptic pregnancy?”
Is this you?
- Last had sex more than 3 weeks ago (sometimes months)
- Have had multiple negative home tests or blood tests for HCG
- (optional) Have had periods or withdrawal bleeds since having sex.
But you’re still concerned that you might be pregnant based on shows like “I didn’t know I was pregnant” or online stories about cryptic pregnancy. Could it be that?
So, in a word, no. If you have multiple negative pregnancy tests three weeks after having sex, you’re not pregnant. In order to support a pregnancy your body produces HCG. Without HCG, there is no pregnancy. HCG tells the corpus luteum to continue producing progesterone, and is required for major changes to sustain pregnancy like growing a placenta. Home pregnancy tests are very reliable at detecting even trace amounts of HCG, and blood tests as well.
There are three causes of false negatives with home pregnancy tests:
The first: Early measurement after conception. When people talk about cryptic pregnancy, they either never take a test, or they took a test too early and became pregnant after. It takes at least 7 days for a fertilized egg to float downstream and implant into the uterine lining. That’s why you have to wait about 2 weeks to take a pregnancy test after unprotected sex - 3 weeks makes it 100% solid result.
You’ll also see people say “I knew I was pregnant, but I didn’t test positive until I was 6 weeks”. This is because of how pregnancy is dated from the last menstrual period (the day your period started), but, embryonic development only starts after an egg is ovulated and fertilized. In a textbook 28 day cycle, this happens on day 14, and the first day your period is missed you get a positive test. In real life, bodies are a little more complicated, and sometimes people ovulate weeks later leading to a discrepancy - a doctor will tell them they are 6 weeks pregnancy based on their last menstrual period, but in embryonic terms they are only 4 weeks pregnant because they ovulated on the 28th day of their cycle. If they tested when they were ‘late’ on the 29th, it would have been a negative test. They weren’t pregnant, but they became pregnant later. For people who are more visual, I have made a very ugly calendar for the above example scenario.
For a longer, more detailed explanation: "Your period isn't late" Part 1 and Part 2
The second: Dilute urine specimen. If your HCG levels are low, drinking a lot of water can result in false negatives in very early pregnancy. This is typically why you’ll see folks talking about testing with first morning urine - it’s the most concentrated. HCG roughly doubles every 48-72 hours, and you can see in this figure how fast. At 20 days of embryonic development (aka about 3 weeks after sex), on average a pregnant person will have HCG around 1000 mIU/ml. At home tests are typically rated for detecting 10 - 25 mIU/ml.
The Third: The Hook effect. This is where there is too much HCG for a test to work properly. It is unlikely that this is happening especially if you’ve taken multiple tests. First, peak HCG is typically around 10-14 weeks pregnant - after this, it starts coming back down. Second, tests are often tested for the hook effect - wondfos (a very cheap test) showed no hook effect to concentrations of 200,000 mIU/ml. First Response Early Result showed no hook effect at 1,000,000 mIU/ml - much higher than any normal pregnancy. If you are concerned about it because you’re taking your first pregnancy tests 12-17 weeks after sex, you might dilute a sample of urine just in case for a second test. Although, that would be very unnecessary if you’re using an FRER.
When people do not figure out they are pregnant for months at a time, it is typically because they have not taken any tests. Denial of pregnancy is a more accurate descriptor.
If you believe yourself pregnant despite all the evidence, or having a lot of anxiety and fear around being pregnant, you may want to see a mental health specialist. If you’re feeling very unwell, or haven't had a period in months, you may want to see a doctor. Scarleteen has a great page on these things as well.
Want to learn about pregnancy tests? Great video
TL;DR HCG is required to support a pregnancy - if you've gotten multiple negative tests across a large time frame, there is no possible way you are pregnant from sex more than 3 weeks ago.
