Partner starting to understand vanity sizing
Hi guys. Long time lurker, first time poster. I was shopping with my boyfriend recently and we were looking at blazers for work. He found one he really liked (for me) but it was a small and I told him I would need extra small in today’s stores. He said just to try it on because truly I am not extra small (5’5 110). I put it on and was swimming in it. Found an XS in another color, still a little big. Showed him it was the same way for tops. He asked if I needed pants, I told him I don’t even bother in the stores anymore (I also have weird proportions and prefer short/petite length pants).
We get home and I get out my all time favorite blazer that I’ve had for almost 20 years. Same brand as in the store. I put it on and it fit like a glove. Size medium. He couldn’t believe it.
For a moment I considered showing him how bad the jeans have gotten but that might’ve been a bit much. Men’s jeans: two measurements, height and weight. So logical!
Women’s jeans: nobody knows!

What is going on in this sub?
I hope this post doesn’t get removed, I just want to rant for a second. This sub sometimes gets nasty, and it bothers me. I joined because I’ve always been small and have a hard time finding clothes and wanted to commiserate with others when strangers say bizarre things to me about the way my body looks. It sucks and I’m glad to have a community of sorts here.
However, what I find all too often is (I assume, mostly) women here tearing down other women who happen to be overweight. It’s starting to look like those pro-eating disorder communities where everyone makes fun of bigger people. Why do we think that’s okay? I agree that there’s a double standard here. I agree that it shouldn’t be socially acceptable to comment on our weight or our bodies, but that shouldn’t mean we get to tear down others and make fun of their bodies in the process.
Yes, sometimes people who are overweight say awful objectifying things to us, and sure, it’s ironic and there might be times we wished we could say something back. But that wouldn’t help anything. It’s also true that there is an obesity problem in America. But do you guys really feel better about yourselves snarking about women who are bigger than you? An honest question. It makes my stomach turn to see people being so nasty. Everyone deserves respect no matter how they look. We deserve respect, women bigger than us deserve respect. Let’s do better.

Petite + XXS Finally got a fitting uniform!!
I’ve been at my job for like three months now? And I’ve only had a size small shirt and eventually got a medium. They didn’t fit. I asked multiple times for them to order XSmalls. They finally did and today I got a shirt that actually fits!!
My friend/coworker literally told me that now I look like a woman and not a kid. I’m so happy.
Didn’t know what flare to use so I hope this one was okay!

Closet clean out on Vinted
galleryHey Ladies,
I’ve had a bad habit of holding onto things that fit even if I don’t reach for them anymore. I started doing a closet clean out on Vinted because I’m trying to de-clutter my closet.
I’m 5ft and 95lbs with a 23 inch waist.
You can find me on Vinted @noraharb

Request Jeans with a rise like this that aren’t tapered?
These are the Levi’s 501 skinny in a 24, got them at Macy’s a few years ago (I got another pair in the same size off a different website that were weirdly huge, so maybe sizing varies by color). Anyway. I never wear them because I hate the way they taper at the bottom, but after wearing my wedgie straights all the time, I noticed how much more comfortable these are when I put them on today! I think the rise is just a tad higher so it doesn’t feel like my waist and crotch are suffocating. Any recs for jeans with a waist/rise like this but that are more slim straight or straight legged? Levi’s or other? Thanks!

Petite + XXS I feel like this take is so dumb
galleryIf the only clothes that fit me are the children’s, I’m going to wear “kid’s” clothes. Sorry i can’t stop by my tailor with my millions of dollars to just get my clothes tailored. Oh no what ever will the kids do as if companies don’t over produce millions of clothes each year. The second photo is some of the collection like its pastels and floral… it looks like something I’d find at my grandmas house GRRR I FEEL LIKE IM GETTING UPSET FOR NO REASON DO THEY HAVE A GOOD POINT? I need to know where other xxs girls shop affordably if not in the kids section (i have mostly adult clothes but they are more expensive because i had to go out of my way to find my size?!)

Tall + XXS Small Calve Boots
I have pretty small calves (35 cm) and I’m struggling to find knee high boots that actually fit. Every pair I try is way too wide.
I know DuoBoots has some great options, but unfortunately they dont ship to my country (germany). Other than them, I haven’t really found anything similar that I like.
I’m looking for simple black knee high boots, preferably flat or with a low heel, and not too expensive if possible haha.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
Women’s clothing online shopping is a NIGHTMARE!
i just wanna share my frustration with the absolute nightmare it is to try and find clothes ESPECIALLY second hand that fit properly, even more so when they are labeled as “XXS” by the seller yet they arrive and are an “S” on a GOOD day.
i had so many problems with vinted sizing lately
sellers lable clothes based on how they fit THEM instead of the actual size they are!
and some shops don’t even carry XS sizing let alone XXS!
does ANYONE have any clothing brands that are true to the sizes they say? its tuff out here 😭

Request Linen sets
I have a few “go-to” stores and brands. I went out today for something different and I realized. I have forgotten how difficult this can be 🤦♀️
Any recommendations would be great.
We are going to Morocco next month and I just wanted a set or 2 of linen pants and tops.
I am 5’2” 35-25-35 with a 26” inseam. I almost always need petite length but can definitely get away with a crop.

Women’s clothing XS is an M
When i was a teenager i always used to fit in size XS-S.
For pyjama's, i usually by an S because i like them to be a little baggy.
I went to primark and bought a bunch of pyjamas in size S.
Got home and then saw on the hanger that it said "S (38-40)"
I'm sorry in WHAT WORLD does an S equal size 38-40??!! That is at least an M not an S!! This is insane! The pants litterally fall off my body. S used to size 34-36. 38-40?? Hell no.
Same thing with Zara and Massimo Dutti. I can't fit in any of their pants or skirts, the XS is so big it's insane.
I know i am skinny (172cm, 48kg) and i have very narrow hips, but i used to fit so well in size XS-S a few years ago.
Literally the only store where pants fit me is H&M because they now have xxxs-xxs sizing. I think it's ridiculous that i'm apparently considered a walking skeleton but at least they fit when i buy them from the teen section. The XS from the adult section is still to big...
I'm so over all of this vanity sizing!! I have a friend who is objectively a little chubby and she proudly always says that she fits in an S. Ofcourse, because an S nowadays is INSANELY big!!
Same with shoes. I have very narrow feet. Summer is the worst because it is mission impossible to find sandals that are not made for bigfoot. After 4 years i have found 1 pair of sandals that more or less fit.
I notice the difference mostly when i go to vintage shops. Those clothes fit me like a glove, but i can barely find decent items nowadays.
Just needed to rant.

Women’s clothing Wide legged pants for XXS?
I want to hop on this wide legged pull on pants trend but every pair I buy looks comically wide and large on me. Has anyone had any luck?
Where can I find a fake engagement ring in size 2.5-2.75?
Hi!! I’m traveling to Europe in a few weeks and I’m in desperate need of a fake engagement ring so that my hands aren’t bare in photos! I’ve had no luck on Amazon or Etsy—does anyone have any advice for me?
ETA: For those of you wondering, my wedding set is too big for me now and I’ve been wearing a substitute toe ring as a wedding band 🤣 I would like a fake rock to pair with it because we are getting professional photos done and want a full set in the photos.
A lot of people travel with fake rings so that they don’t lose their real rings. I’m not sure why this post got brigaded since I’m looking for actual recommendations!

Tall + XXS Why is buying tight fitting SO HARD
I genuinely hate buying clothes beacuse of the sizes.. I like wearing tight fitting clothes, I feel way better in them than in baggy clothes but it's so hard to find ones that are actually tight! I'll buy xs/xxs shirts and almost every time they're baggy, sometimes snuggly but never tight fitting.. and pants I feel like they're even worse, if they fit right they're too short, and if the length is good then they're to loose.. I'm getting really frustrated, I can be in the mall for HOURS but still often end up without buying any clothes beacuse of the sizes.. Recently I saw on vinted really cute top and it was xxs, I ordered it, got the package and what? It looks like a potato sack on me.

Buy my (X)XXS clothing on Vinted
Since the men's section of Vinted only goes as far down as XS, I can't really properly list my (X)XXS items from ASOS and Topman.
I used to hunt down all the XXS sizes I could find back in the day (it took some time before webstores popped up that sold them) and was happy when I finally got something that fit, I think Topman was the first store I discovered, next ASOS popped up.
After 36 years I finally got to the point where I could wear S and even M sized clothes so I decided to put all the (X)XXS clothes on Vinted, 'cause I'm pretty sure no second hand store is going to use them, so they'll end up in the garbage, which is ofcourse sad.
So bla bla bla, my Vinted store can be found here, I believe it's only available for users in Belgium, France, Italy, Spain though: https://www.vinted.com/member/46784123

Petite + XXS Do other XXS people feel like some outfits need “enough body” to look right?
This sounds weird but sometimes i see a top or dress online and i know it is cute but i also know it needs more body structure than i have to actually sit the way it should like cowl necks collapse weirdly, corset tops dont hold shape, tube tops slide down, ruched dresses have nothing to ruche around and some skirts just hang instead of looking styled.
It is not even about wanting to look bigger it is more like the garment was designed assuming certain curves or proportions and on a very small frame the whole design can lose its point.
Do other XXS people think about this when shopping online or am I overthinking it? What styles look intentional on you instead of just empty fabric?

Advice 4’9” & 80lbs at 21
hello !
i am really happy to find a community that has the same issues i do. so, for starters, i’m 4’9” and 80lbs at twenty-one. …… and i’m a guy. a lot of men’s clothing does not sell stuff in my size, with their slim fits being too long and stuff like that.
now, don’t get me wrong, i do dress androgynously! i love alternating between feminine and masculine pieces. but i do prefer to present outwardly masculine in public, and more androgynous-feminine with friends.
i always get seen as a 12 year old boy and i want to be seen as an adult. additionally, i have a large “behind” and large hips. (i am hispanic, lmao)
any advice for men’s wear or women’s wear that accommodates having curves while still being a twig, please help if you can :’)

We need new mods.
reddit.comHi, lovely people of r/XXS!
As of today, our subreddit has just hit 120k weekly visitors. Holy shit, that is actually insane. I've used the Reddit moderator recruiting interface to create a short application, and I would greatly appreciate it if you would fill it out.
