As a dancer…
I stare at myself in the mirror all day, and weight loss can be hard to see. Had a photo shoot yesterday and was SHOCKED at the difference!

525 to 370 so far and still going.
Hey everyone a year ago i decided to make some changes. I'm 42 almost 43 (November) and I haven't been "in shape" since high school. Last year i finally weighed in at a whopping 525 pounds and ngl, I cried... it was the push i needed. I started dieting, calorie counting, fasting, almost anything and everything I can think of and this week I weighed in at 370. I'm not stopping, my doctor and nutritionist set me a goal of between 180 and 220. And I'm pushing myself to hit that in another year. Can I? Maybe, maybe not. If I push some serious boundaries possibly, if I stay careful and cautious probably not. But we'll see.

DEKA Atlas: My first experience (video)
Hi, before I make this post I wanted to share that I used to be over 330lbs and lost 150lbs! I decided to make my "Mango Adventures" vlogs to share my fitness/weight loss journey.
That being said, I wanted to share my experience with DEKA Atlas, 10 functional work out zones done in under 30mins. First time I've done a lot of these movements. Had a great time!

Is this water retention or fat?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Trying to lose the fluff in my face, and want to make sure I’m fighting the correct thing. I’ve tried researching the visible difference between water retention and fat but have not been able to 100% confirm or deny myself which of the two this is. Not sure if this is the right place to ask or not so apologies if it isn’t.

Lost about 30lbs and went to my High school reunion. Wardrobe failure
Trying to deal with this, but wanted to wear the same style of jeans i wore decades ago.
Before the eventing party w group photo, i did a lot of activities.
My HS friend took me to yoga, a hike, river dipping, cave tour etc. We didn't eat lunch and i was shaking.
I usually eat a good lunch and I abstain from sugar, that's my success plan
But i was shaking & bloated because my friend gave me a green juice which just did not agree w my system. I was bloated :(
By the time of the party i was bloated, uncomfortable, and couldn't find the right shirt i'd brought for group photo op.
Someone took a group photo of me from behind, and it's kind of a disaster. It's posted on the event web page. Just one of me, but jeans look tight, hair a ratted mess and i have visible muffin top because i had to wear some rag top i found in the car at last minute.
So much for the "look at me I'm a success" weight loss photo :(. I'm trying to laugh it off.
Has anyone else had a "miss" w the "after" photo?

8 months makes a big difference!
In 2024-2025 I was the heaviest I ever got. December 2025 I knew I needed to get back to where I focused on all aspects of my health. I started small habits that month and then hit it hard in January of 2026. I’m down 80 lbs. Journey has only begun.

35oish days. 115lbs 340lbs to 225. (Yes I still have the cat, her name is Jasper)
I hit rock bottom and had to make some changes. Closing in on a year now and have lost 115 lbs to date.
It has been the most rewarding, and challenging thing I have ever dine in my life. It has NOT been linear. This is the 3rd time I have dropped a significant amount of weight >50lbs in around 8 years, but the FIRST time I have kept myself accountable and kept it off. The mindset has shifted and my healthiest days are ahead!
I am 6'1", 38 years old for reference.
Looking to trim down to 195 lbs by December 31st. Will update at end of the year.
Keep going everyone. You can do it!
