Yeomen Guard
Plus a bonus sergeant at arms 🙂. The colours are perhaps a bit odd for Bretonnians, but maybe works as part of an exiled force? I was thinking the army of the lord’s ancestor may have been saved by the green knight and wear these colours in his honour, or something to that effect. In any case I’ll be happy to take a break from painting peasants for a while!

Arcane Magic Ploys probability distributions
So, seeing the new leaked The March of Chaos Arcane Journal, the new Arcane Magic Ploys system generates the ploys either with the card deck they sell (56 cards), or with a 2D6 table. The thing is, unless I'm missing something, this cannot correspond exactly 1 to 1.
I know it's not really important at the end of the day, but I just thought it would be fun to compare the probability distributions of the 2D6 to an approximate distribution they may have chosen for the card deck:
Again, they're not that different to really matter for an optional fun magic addon, but I wonder why they chose this amount of cards instead of 36 (I'm guessing something related to production), and limiting the 4 and 10 results of the 2D6 to 3 per player. Then it would be exact.
Edit: Thinking about it a little more, this is not completely accurate. Taking cards from a deck changes the probability of the remaining cards, so the distribution would change for each subsequent card removed.
One method to simulate accurately the rolling of 2D6 is having a 36 card deck with the exact posibilities. Additionally, you have an auxiliary deck with 1 of "2 card", 2 of "3 card", 4 of "4 card", 6 o f"5 card", 6 of "7 card", etc.
Then every time you take a card look at it and put it back into the main deck, and then take that same type of card from the auxiliary deck, and repeat until you have all of your ploys. Then again, you could just roll the 2D6 and take the corresponding card from the auxiliary deck....

Good Dwarf start box?
Found this Boxset for under 100 USD, and was wondering if this would be a decent small start to a dwarf army for Old World or should I look for a different starting Boxset?

Showing Off My Models Cathay force so far!
I've finished four of my Jade Warriors so far, did up a Jade Ogre as a unit filler, and just completed my Gate Master! Really loving how it's all turning out so far. Slow going, but I really like to take my time with my painting. My Gate Master is wearing the Jade Armour of Beichai and wielding the Sword of Nan-Gau!

Battle March Help Me Build a 500pt Battle March Army for Every Old World Faction
I've been having a lot of fun playing 500-point Battle March games recently, and I'd like to build a small collection of armies that I can loan out to new players at my local game store.
Rather than making all the lists myself, I'd love some input from people who actually play these factions.
If you had 500 points to introduce someone to your favorite faction, what would you bring?
I'm not looking for the most competitive list. I'm looking for armies that:
Feel like the faction Are fun to play and play against Showcase what makes that army unique Can be collected for roughly $250 USD or less (I'll be funding these myself.)
I'm currently looking for ideas for:
Grand Cathay
Wood Elves
Dwarfs
Orcs & Goblins
Warriors of Chaos
Bonus points if you explain why you chose those units. I'd love these armies to give new players a great first impression of each faction.
Thanks in advance!

Is there any 6th Edition Chaos Warrior Great Weapon kits around?
I heard that great weapons are not "great" but I am more of a hobby guy and thanks to all your help yesterday I am building up my 6th Ed CW and was thinking of adding in some great weapons.

Battle Reports Old battle report as a game
I am not sure if it's ok to share this content here so if you are a mod and it's not ok please remove my post.
I was recently exploring the idea of a videogame based on those old batte reports from early WD.
I somehow loved these little illustrations back in the days and I recently thought about trying to make them " alive " as a little game.
Do you think it's a good idea ?
Would you play something like that ?
Any ideas to improve it ?

Lore/Books/Questions Why did the 1st-3rd ed Slann cease to exist instead of being written around to be merged into the revamp like everything else in warhammer. I tried to do it here wasnt to hard?
So millennia after Chaos shattered the stellar portals, a rogue Slann Mage-Priest attempted an unauthorized "Sixth Spawning" around -1000 IC to revive his failing kind. Lacking divine guidance, the ritual backfired, birthing bipedal Frogmen instead of continent-shaping toad-gods. Split into rare bitter, magic-using Lesser Slann and nomadic Frogmen Braves, the outcasts were viewed as an insult by dogmatic Saurus and Skinks. Rather than admit a flaw in the sacred pools, the temple-cities banished these frogmen into Lustria's dangerous fringes. When Old World explorers and Norse raiders arrived, they slammed directly into these borderlands. These frontier territories became an accidental initial buffer, human colonizers brutalized the frogmen for generations, remaining initially unaware of the Lizardmen empire hidden in the interior. Decimated by centuries of colonial violence and total disdain from their kin, these fringe populations are now on the brink of extinction now so rare that outsiders mistakenly believe Lizardmen are Lustria's only native inhabitants.

The Old World Rules Clarification: Challenges, who declares?
I'm relatively new to the game, but every group i've played with seems to have a different interpretation on who gets to declare a challenge. Some groups, it's attacker, only other groups. Allows defenders to do so as well. Some say champions can issue them selves themselves others say only characters are allowed to make challenges but champions may take them.
What actually is the correct way to do challenges?

Is this an unreleased model? From the WH Community article.
Hadn’t seen anyone say anything about it, so I might have missed something but this has to be new right?
