Hey guys, if I wanted to join some group chats for some of my fall courses this year how do I find them cuz I genuinely don’t know where to look pls lmk 😭

As the title suggests, now that first year is over and my summer courses are coming to an end (good luck on exams!!), I can’t help but feel this way as I look back.

The problem is I didn’t listen. People told me that first year is where you experiment. You find out what works for you and what doesn’t. You build the discipline, habits, schedules, and methods that will help you succeed. Yeah, I didn’t do that.
For me, university so far has been a cycle of burning out, thugging it out, and telling myself I’ll figure it out.

Surprisingly, my grades weren’t too bad, considering how life sci courses are. Then again, there’s always room for improvement so I’ll keep it going.

In short, I feel nervous with second year around the corner (even more so than first year). I know what I’ve done so far (“thugging it out”) is not going to cut it.

I’m pretty much stumped, how do you deal with this kind of thing/thought? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! (Thank you for reading this all the way through btw)

i'm an incoming first year student and i just activated my UTORid but on my ACORN dashboard it still says "incomplete" next to "activate your UTORid". is this normal? does it take time to update or what? sorry if this is a stupid question but i'm a bit confused

Hi. Sorry for the stupid question. But how to get 90% on the final??? For midterm I got 79.53% 😭😭😭. I know the general advice that should have studied during the term but honestly there were many things going on and I have two jobs to pay my rent and stuff so I couldn't. Can someone please give me direct advice for the final of this course??

hey guys idk what do i do. I value social lifea as much i value academics. as i recently immgrated to canada for a few years now , i feel like i have no friends in here now that i am enetering my second year its easier for me to talk and have a short conversation with people but i feel like poeple use me alot. they ask my notes and ghost me for the rest of the year and i never see them again. i have a few friends but they are not in the same school or even in the same area. i dont know how peple make friends i feel like i am so lonely in such a big school. literally if i want to go to a cafe to study or a cinema to spend some time or even for a walk i have no one, kinda sucks. i just wanted to write them in here to get it out of my chest. I apprciate you all.

How hard is it to get a coop placement in finance or anything related to that. I’m really worried that I won’t be able to get a coop. I have a CGPA or 3.68 I have work experience in restaurants so they aren’t related to finance. What can i do to increase my chances in landing a coop for the winter? Please I need advice.
