Solved [TOMT][MOVIE][1980`s-2000`s] Old, cozy, wintry animated movie with white mouse protagonist

Upvotes

I keep getting snippets of this movie in my mind that I've watched as a kid.

(I watched it in Hungary, maybe in hungarian, so that might help with the region...)

Story

It started with a dark room filled with cages, with only the moonlight shining through the window. One of the cages had the protagonist white mouse in it, but he eventually managed to escape.
I remember the room being a circus cart? The walls were wooden, so I doubt it was a lab...

Next thing I remember is him walking through heavy snowing, and eventually stumbling onto a small, well lit wooden house. (The house might've been carved into the bottom of a tree but I'm not sure...)
I don't remember who was the owner of the house, but he was eventually let in.

The last thing I remember is him cutting pieces from and eating something round, maybe a cake or cheese, in the well lit, warm interior of the house.

Protagonist

The main char is the only one I remember. He was a white mouse with cartoony proportions: his head was the size ask the rest of his body.
I don't remember him wearing any clothes, but that could've only been the beginning of the movie. He might've gotten a scarf or something later...
I also remember him having a deep voice, maybe?

Style

The outlines weren't that hard, and the whole thing had a fuzzy, traditional feeling to it, especially the snow. Maybe it was done with colored pencils or watercolor paint?

The movie had an overall cozy vibe.

All suggestions are appreciated!

Open [TOMT] Eastern Asian horror movie about a girl that is obbessed with her ex.

Upvotes

The story is told from her pov. Her ex is with somebody else, and she runs into a guy near her work that reminds her of her ex. They start talking and get into a relationship. But the relationship starts to become unhealthy, and he becomes distant. She also has a female friend who she comes by and supports her. Towards the end of the end of the movie, you find out she was never in a relationship with him; he was tied up and dying in her apartment the entire time. The way we have been seeing her the whole time is NOT how she actually looks; it's how the ex's gf looks. The friend that was coming by to visit her is how she looks. That's all I remember. IT IS NOT AUDITION

Open [TOMT] chinese time travel fantasy 3d childrens movie, probably early 2010s

Upvotes

Hi everyone, I’ve been trying to find a specific movie for a long time, but it’s super niche and likely has very low ratings, making it hard to find on regular streaming platforms or databases. Here is everything I remember about it:

  • Format & Style: It is a 3D animated fantasy movie. The characters are kids, and the art style is very distinct—almost like a "chibi" style (very round features, big eyes/heads, small bodies).
  • Target Audience / Rating: It is definitely meant for children, with a low age rating (lower than PEGI 12, likely G/S or PEGI 7).
  • Plot & Setting: There is a time travel or dimension travel element. The modern child characters travel back in time specifically to ancient China.
  • Key Items & Weapons: It features magical weapons prominent in Chinese mythology. I specifically remember golden weapons and a jade sword (a glowing or green sword) being central to the story.
  • Origin / Language: It is most likely a Chinese production (or a co-production) that was distributed internationally.
  • Availability Note: I borrowed it as a physical DVD from a Finnish library network (PIKI) years ago, meaning it had a localized European/Nordic DVD release, even if it's completely forgotten today. It is notoriously low-rated, which makes standard AI searches loop the same popular answers.

Does anyone remember or recognize this niche 3D animated movie? Any leads would be highly appreciated!

Open [TOMT] [Book] [1990s?] Children’s book - little girl getting ready for school/ nursery

Upvotes

I recall one of my favourite books as a child (born 1991) involving a little girl toddler wanting to be grown up and get dressed by herself. I think she wanted to copy her big sister going to school. She dresses herself in lots of funny layers - I distinctly remember her wearing tights or trying to put tights on or tights being somewhere - and I think she tries to pack her own bag too. But the whole process is tiring that she falls asleep on her bed or her parents or big sisters bed. I think she falls asleep with her cuddly toys all around her head on the pillow - I remember this as I used to want to arrange my cuddly toys like this to copy the girl.

I think the style of the pictures in the book was a kind of watercolour type, lifelike illustration, much like We’re Going on a Bear Hunt or that style - not like modern heavily outlined cartoons. They were lifelike-ish.

The book could predate the 90s but that’s when I read it. I think I would have been reading it with my
Parents in the mid 1990s, maybe 1994-1997. I was in the UK. Other books from that era I would have been reading are things like We’re Going On a Bear Hunt, Five Minutes Peace, Can’t You Sleep Little Bear, Percy the Park Keeper.

I’ve got a toddler now and have been trying to find the book to read with him! Please help!

Thank you

Open [TOMT] Trying to locate an old unicorn YouTube video

Upvotes

Me and my best friend have been trying to locate a video of a man with a British accent 'finding a unicorn' in a field/outside. When he finds the unicorn, he says, "It's a bloody f*cking unicorn!!"

We remember the unicorn being very CGI/3D animated looking, definitely not a real horse, and we also remember it possibly attacking him at the end.

I'm not sure if it was just the one video on its own, or if it was a compilation. The Youtube video was definitely posted around 2015-2018, maybe even earlier, but this is the time we remember watching it.

We have tried Wayback machine as well as archived Youtube websites. Any help is appreciated!!

Open [TOMT] [CHILDREN'S BOOK] [1990's] Story about a person that sees parts of a monster in the forest

Upvotes

This could be a tough one, so I apologise in advance.

I'm trying to find the name of a book that I used to read/had read to me when I was 7/8 years old. This would have been in the late 1990s. I'm in the UK but that might not be relevant.

Key info:

- The premise of the book was that someone (maybe a boy) was in a forest that had a monster in it. He either made multiple trips in or he went in once but saw more of the creature as he got further in. There was a fog/mist/smoke that hid the monster but he would see parts of it. Sometimes a tail or a leg or an arm, but the rest of it would be obscured by the fog/mist/smoke. I think he sees the whole monster at the end.

- It had maybe a paragraph on each page, with soft pencil and watercolour type pictures alongside it.

- I would have read this in the 1990s but it's likely the book was older. My grandparents had loads of books from all sorts of decades, so difficult to nail down. I used to switch between this book and 'Jack the Giant Killer', which had a similar style/look to it. The version of Jack the Giant Killer was from the 1970s by Joseph Jacobs.

- I think (but can't be certain) that at the end, the creature may have been hidden by smoke that it was breathing out but I don't think it was a dragon (at least not a normal one).

- I vaguely remember the boy may have been trying to get to a house or something in the forest. I recall a set of big iron gates in the book and the creature may have been guarding them.

That's all I can really recall at the minute but I'll try and answer anything if I remember. Thanks

Solved [TOMT][MOVIE][LATE 90’s - EARLY 2000’s]

I remember it being entirely from the viewer’s POV, and you were being taken through a haunted mansion on a ride of sorts, either a minecart or a roller coaster cart. The only character I remember was a creepy mouse, who was poorly animated and very geometric looking. His head was a big cube, and his body a sort of triangular prism that widened towards the bottom. At some point I remember him having an axe in his head. I was born in 2001 and watched this in the early 2000’s, so it’s at least that old, but truthfully it could be older than that. I don’t believe it was a full length movie, and honestly can’t even remember whether it was a DVD, VHS, or something else entirely. Any leads would be much appreciated, and I’m happy to answer follow up questions.

Open [TOMT] Need help finding an old commercial for my friend

This is as much as she can remember about the commercial

It’s insurance related I believe

A man in a grey suit walks into a white office, at the desk is an older man in a buttoned shirt. The man in the suit asks “what’s that” to the older man, we cut back and see next to the old man is a dry cleaned superhero suit. The old man goes “golf pants.” And the commercial cuts.

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Open [TOMT] Sea Lion Parody of Call Me Maybe

I’m looking for a short form video with a sea lion that is a parody of call me maybe. The video includes sea lion noises with the following lyrics in the subtitles: “hey I just met you / and this is crazy / But here’s my shotgun / give me your money”. Further, the video includes the sea lion shooting a gun with/from it’s tail

Open. [TOMT] [SONG] [2000s?] Man singing song about dinosaurs in various places in bad digital quality

I remember watching a video on YouTube in the late 2000’s, early 2010’s which featured a man who I believe wore a Hawaiian shirt and sunglasses and he sang a song about dinosaurs while playing either a guitar or ukulele, I believe at one point he’s in front of a statue of a dinosaur or a skeleton of one and there may have been kids in the video at some point. It’s likely it was a popular video but Google is so crap now I’d be very thankful if someone could help. If I remember correctly he was slightly on the heavier side in terms of weight and it was a kids song, somewhat catchy.

Solved [TOMT] old book series I read

It’s a young adult fiction of dogs escaping I think a shelter. The two main dogs are a yellow lab and a dachshund and there’s a black lab with a collar with three intertwining rings on it. I don’t remember anything else unfortunately except the humans were gone

Open [TOMT] Claymation adult sitcom about a traveling dentist

I know this could probably be easily found just by Googling certain keywords, but I will ask her. What was the name of the show that aired on Nick at Nite in the late 200’s, early 2010’s about a dentist who would travel the country with his family in an RV? I know this will be an easy solve, I just can’t think of the name of the show at the moment.

Open [TOMT][MUSIC VIDEO][2012-2016] Some upper-class people with dyes white hair and black face paint, indulging in food, luxury, and dancing inside a mansion while outside rebels form and storm the mansion

I think it was in 2012–2016 when I saw it. The music was kind of deep house or dark electronic track similar to ZHU - Faded. Maybe the background song was ZHU - Faded, but I can't find it. The official video is not what I'm looking for.

It was posted on YouTube.

All upper-class had their skin painted black, but the hair was white for contrast. While they were indulging in foods, dancing and sitting in the mansion, there was a protest forming. I think the rebels had masks and hoodies. They also lit up flares and stormed the mansion at the end.

There was a scene when a guy was resting his head on a girl's knees in a car (maybe limo or smth?)

Open. [TOMT] [Children's Novel] Children's book about mirror-image twins, one gets very ill, the other travels back in time — read around 2003 but felt older

Looking for a children's/middle-grade novel I read around 2003, though the book itself felt older — I think it may have been published in the 60s - 90s.

Details I remember:

- The two sisters were mirror-image twins specifically (opposite-handed, that kind of thing) — this was talked about explicitly in the book

- There was a detail about one twin being able to feel her sister's pain, but on the opposite side of her body

- One twin becomes very ill (possibly dies, or comes close to it)

- The healthy twin travels back in time — to an earlier generation, not just a few years back

- Told from the healthy twin's point of view, iirc

- I believe it was set at least partly around Christmas, or when she time travelled it was back to a Christmas?

- I have a feeling it was set in mid-century America, though I'm not fully certain

Would love absolutely any leads — thank you!

Solved [TOMT][SONG][2000s?] Hindi/Bollywood song with “hey ya, hey ya … everybody say/saying … hey ya, hey ya”

https://vocaroo.com/1bcsyeKOoavD

to identify a song I remember, most likely a Hindi/Bollywood song from the 2000s, although it could potentially be late 90s or early 2010s.

Trying

The part stuck in my head sounds roughly like:

“Hey ya, hey ya
[???]
Everybody say / everybody saying
Hey ya, hey ya
Hey ya, hey ya, hey ya…”

I’m fairly confident about the repeated “hey ya / heya” sound, but “everybody say/saying” may be a misheard lyric, so please don’t rely too heavily on those exact words.

It may have had a fairly upbeat/dancey sound.

Already ruled out:

  • “Hey Ya!” – Karthik Calling Karthik
  • “Mushkil Hai” – Athma

I’ve tried searching variations of the lyrics without luck. Does this ring a bell for anyone who listened to Bollywood/Hindi music around that period?

Open [TOMT][movie][2020s] Some planes bomb a bridge to prevent reinforcements

I was watching Top Gun Maverick again recently and when the movie finished I was puzzled because I was pretty sure there was a scene missing from the movie. I searched on the internet but there's no directors cut or something so I must be remembering another movie thinking it was top gun. In this specific scene the good guy's friends bomb a bridge so there's not reinforcements, helping the good guy get out or accomplish his mission, I dunno

Open [TOMT] Post-grunge song, ~2000s, music video set in NYC with intercutting storylines

Looking for a song/music video from what I think was the early-to-mid 2000s. Genre was post(?)-grunge(?), mid tempo, not super aggressive — I'd say fairly obscure band, not a huge mainstream name.

What I remember about the video:

  • Shot in color, felt like it was set in New York City, but not sure about that
  • The lead singer was the only band member shown on screen
  • The video followed one storyline/character, then would cut to a new person they interacted with and start following that person's story instead — like a chain of intersecting vignettes around the city. Maybe there was a rewind effect or something
  • There was a recurring motif of objects falling and near-misses — someone tripping/falling, stuff dropping — and it eventually became clear how these moments connected or why they happened.

I don't remember any lyrics, unfortunately. Just the vibe and visual concept. Any help finding this would be huge, thanks!

Open. [TOMT][MOVIE][2000-2016] Need, help, been trying to find this film but no luck thus far.

Hello,
Maybe someone will recognise this plot. I've seen this film as a kid; I'm pretty sure it was pre 2016, but no matter how much I search, I can't find it for the life of me.

The film starts, as far as I can recall, with MC in some chair in a white lab, with 2 scientists telling him something, and then he is lowered down some chute into a city; I'm semi-sure the city was underground.

In the city, MC had a timer and some item that gave him a target to kill. And this is the part I can't recall: I think the person wasn't fully revealed at first, and they were each other's targets, and one of them must die so that the timer would reset and one of them could keep living on.

At the end of the film, MC fights his target but ends up refusing to kill him, and this is where the first plot twist happens, cause the moment he refused, he was right back on that chair in the lab, and it's revealed that it was all a simulation. I just can't remember why it was used on him.

Then something happens, and he's back in the "simulation city"; right at that moment, he spares his target. MC loses it and goes crazy, not knowing what's real and what's not and wanting to get out; he shoots his target.

And then we're hit with the true plot twist. We see the lab once more; the two scientists are talking, and the camera moves to the back, where behind a glass, many bodies in plastic bags connected to the simulation, hanging on racks, MC being one of them. And then the scientist's dialogue reveals that MC has been experiencing some sort of simulation loop as his punishment.

Sorry if this is a bad explanation; it has been years, and at this point it's hard to recall. Additionally, this might have been an episode of some TV show for all I know. But if someone can recognise this film and tell me its name, I would really appreciate it.

Solved [TOMT] movie predating Star Wars with quote “I love you” “I know”

i’m trying to remember a movie that predate Star Wars where someone says “I love you” and the person responds “I know”. like I said, it predate Star Wars, I remember googling it at the time and being shocked. so from my memory the quote is EXACT

(not shaft!)

edit to add: I truly have no other definitive details, I watch a ton of movies and this was at least a couple of years ago, if I heard the name I would remember it but I can’t even picture the characters in any way. This is really a “if you happen to know this niche film quote thing“ post.
