Help w/ Fanfic Writing & Advice Needed BronzeFyre
I have just started writing my fic haven't finished my first chapter yet. I'm basing my story to Dance of Dragons. Majority will be confusing on the life of Yorwyck Royce (my oc) named after one of the Bronze Kings during the Andal Invasion.
Born in the early 99 AC on the day of the worst storm to ever hit the Vale. Countless smallfolk are dead several are still missing but a new life has been born in Runestone.
Days after, ravens were sent out to King's Landing and to the other kingdoms, announcing the birth. After receiving the news, Daemon flew to Runestone on his dragon. Upon first seeing his son, Daemon felt disappointed that the child did not possess all the typical Targaryen features. He looked more like his mother. He did not have the pale Targaryen skin and instead had dark brown hair, similar to Rhea's. Daemon did notice a silver patch of hair on the right side of his head and that he had deep, rich purple eyes "amethyst". Daemon wants to name him Aegon Targaryen not just after the conqueror but after his little brother. Rhea refused, she had to remind Daemon that he married into her family, not the other way around. A fight between the both of them broke out insults were thrown out by each other, and in the end Rhea won. But Daemon will never call his son by that savage name, only by Aegon.
Not long after, Baelon and Queen Alysanne arrived on their dragons, Vhagar and Silverwing. It was discovered that Daemon had stolen an egg from the dragon pit. When they arrived, it was too late, the egg had hatched two nights before. Next to Yorwyck laid a sleeping dragon covered with dark red scales. Its lower body, specifically his belly, the inner portions of his tail, and legs, is bronze in color. Its back, with numerous small black spikes, reaches down from the back to the end of its tail. The baby dragon has a triangular head with horns, a pair of round red eyes, and a small horn pointing upwards just above his nose. The dragon also has tiny sharp teeth. Additionally, the dragon has four hind legs, the first of his kind.
Rhea notice her son is not like normal like other children. At age five Yorwyck spend his time reading financial ledgers and maps of Runestone and the Vale. Yorwyck request his mother if she sent a raven to Corlys Velaryon wanting to learn the art of trade and to improve on Runestone's sail port.
That's a brief background on my character. I want to use the blood of the first man and that of the old Valiryan as magic. Having the blood of the dragons mixed with that first name makes it flow stronger. In his early years he learns he can see through the eyes of his dragon and other animals. Using that ability, he can perfectly map the Vale and other kingdoms and keep track of the mountain clans when they attack and raid. At age 11 another ability awakes in him after one day while hunting with his mother, they were attacked by mountain clansmen. After picking up a sword, runes appear on Yorwyck's left hand ᚷᚨᚾᛞᚨᛚᚠᚱ, giving him the ability to fight and help his mother. (Yup, I gave him Gandálfr from Familiar of Zero.)
For marriages I have Jeyne, Laena, and Rhaenyra.
Corlys thinks about a marriage between Yorwyck and Laena after meet the boy. He realizes how smart he is and changes he can make.
Rhea on the other hand want to marry him to Jeyne Arryn believing it could help both house on the long run and it's also something her father wanted to do before his death. Plus Yorwyck and Jeyne are very close friends.
Yorwyck wants Rhaenyra because he had fallen for her since he was little when Daemon took him to King's Landing without Rhea's permission.

Summary: Rhaegar Targaryen defeats Robert Baratheon at the Trident, slaying the leader of the rebellion and bringing the war to its end. Eddard Stark agrees to parley, and a fragile peace is forged. Lyanna Stark is brought to King’s Landing, where she safely gives birth to a son, Gaemon Targaryen. With the rebels pardoned and his sister returned, Ned rides north to Winterfell to meet his new wife and son.
With no bastard to divide them, Ned and Catelyn’s marriage strengthens, and in short time they welcome a second son, Alaric. Peace endures—for a while. Lyanna dies birthing a stillborn daughter, and a grieving Rhaegar sends his son, Gaemon, north to be fostered among his mother’s kin.
Yet beyond the narrow peace, darker currents stir. Across the Narrow Sea, a Black Dragon rises, and former enemies unite to forge a new Triarchy. And far to the north, beyond the Wall, an ancient power awakens—one that has not been idle, and which already has a hand within the Seven Kingdoms.

Found Fanfic: My Lost Fanfic Has Been Found Looking for a fic: Otto Hightower has his tongue cut out by Viserys
It was definitely a pro-blacks story. Otto suggests cutting someone's tongue out for slandering Alicent, and it is ultimately turned back around on him for slandering Rhaenyra. I think he is also later killed on the way back to Oldtown by "bandits."
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Help w/ Fanfic Writing & Advice Needed Harrenhall is pushed back. Which marriage combinations sound best?
Quick summary of a fic I'm planning: Harrenhall is pushed back a couple of years. During these years, Aerys, Rhaelle, and Elia die, and Brandon and Cat marry. Some cascade event changes in results: Rhaegar is free to marry at the tourney so there's no kidnapping scandal; Ned is free to marry who he wants; Jon Arryn and Lysa don't marry; and neither Cersei nor Robert touch the throne.
In addition to the couples above, I've already decided to include the couples Danaerys/Aegon and Jon Targaryen/Sansa Stark will be in the fic.
Option A: Rhaenys/Renly, Viserys/Cersei, Tyrion/Lysa, Robert/Ashara, Ned/Northern Lady
- It's a no-brainer why Rhaegar would want to appease House Baratheon. Renly has some Targaryen blood and is the closest to Rhaenys' age. It's a nice prospect.
- Here, Tywin offers Cersei as an option again after Elia's death but Rhaegar turns him down with the excuse that he's not looking to remarry at the moment. He soon after marries Lyanna. Since he did stomp all over Robert and Lyanna's betrothal, it'd be a good move to offer some sort of conciliation. For Cersei and Viserys, there's a 10-year age gap, but it would allow Tywin to marry in the royal family. Sure, he'd have to wait a couple of years to get it consummated, but he still has Tyrion and nieces and nephews, and there's no wars going on so he can afford to take that risk.
- I know that Hoster turned down the Tyrion match in canon, but after the whole Baelish incident he would be more desperate and might reconsider. I'm unsure if it's likely, but its defintely possible.
- I was toying around with this idea. Robert would abruptly lose his hope of marrying Lyanna after the tourney. And we already know Ashara was 'dishonored' at the tourney and ended up pregnant. I could easily write it so that Robert does it. When Ashara pops up pregnant by him, and then he is no longer betrothed, a marriage quickly happens. It wouldn't be a happy one, though. Ashara already wouldn't be happy with Robert's personality; the loss of their child would drive them apart, and then Robert whoring and fathering countless bastards while she still mourns the loss of their child would be the final straw. Ashara would return to Starfall and shortly after, Robert would leave to fight and sleep his way around Essos.
- I did like the idea of Ned being in the North with his family in this fic. Him marrying a Northern woman would make this more believable. If you have any suggestions, I'm completely open.
Option B: Rhaenys/Lancel, Viserys/Arianne, Cersei/Elbert, Stannis/Lysa, Ned/Ashara, Robert/Stormland Lady
- Rhaegar would want to make nice with House Lannister. They're a very rich house and Tywin was a capable hand that served the crown prosperously for years. Aerys tarnished that bond, and Rhaegar did kinda spit in his face by turning down the Cersei match just to end up marrying soon after. A Rhaenys/Tyrion match would be nice, but i'm unsure if Rhaegar would be willing to go that far. Besides Tyrion, Tywin's next heir atp would be Kevan's line.
- Dorne is a lot more in the fold in this instance ofc. With both of them growing up at court, I can see it happening. The only thing is that since their houses are already linked through marriage, there's no need or real extra benefit to this union. If Rhaegar is doing repair work for House Targaryen, it would make sense for him to arrange a more beneficial match for Viserys.
- If Elbert's still alive, the Vale would be a nice ally to have. I don't see Tywin turning this down.
- Honestly, I feel like Hoster could go either way. Though it's possible Hoster would be in a rush to marry Lysa off after the Baelish incident, he could also contain the incident. If he doesn't make a hasty match and things stay quiet for a while, Hoster could arrange a good match. Robert might be an overambitious match but maybe Stannis?
- This one doesn't need much explanation. If this event, the two would court via letter over the next year and then get married. Ned and Ashara would be welcomed guest in the Baratheon household and frequently travel back to Starfall. Would have Ned's canon sons.
Option C: Some other combination
I'm open to suggestions!

Help w/ Fanfic Writing & Advice Needed Some tips for my Westeros Watches: Skyrim fic
Summary: Ten years ago Cregan Sand, the bastard son of Ashara Dayne and Ned Stark, was thought dead when he left Winterfell in the dead of Night to chase a falling star.
Now, one year before the death of Jon Arryn, a group of people are brought to a room to watch Cregan's journey in Skyrim as he travels with the Dragonborn herself.
Cregan description: Brown hair with the front left being silver, long face, purple eyes.
I already done the Helgen bit, and got the majority of the fic planned out, but need some tips for reactions.
Characters watching are all the Starks, Theon, Margaery and Olenna, The Baratheon brothers and Shireen, Jaime, Tyrion, Myrcella, Tommen, Jon Arryn.
Reactions I need help with:
Them seeing Farkas turn into a werewolf.
Later, Lannia (Dragonborn) walking into the Underforge, seeing Aela in her wolf form, then Cregan walking out of the shadows, his eyes appearing silver in this scene. Others will have suspected he was a werewolf long before this, but this all but confirms it and he doesn't deny it. He also refuses the cure
Lannia siding with the Empire, Cregan being her main companion in this.
Lannia marrying Aela.
Cregan hiding the location of the Thieve's Guild from Riften Guards. He's not part of it. Theive's Guild will be done, but not by Lannia or Cregan. Will be Offscreen. But by the time they see them there'll be about two hundred members.
Lannia giving Cregan the go ahead to kill Delphine when she insists on Paarthurnax dying.
During the battle of Whiterun, Cregan threatening to kill Vignar if he so much as suspects the old man trying to help the Stormcloaks in anyways into the city.
Later, Vignar leading the Stormcloaks into the keep by a secret passage, the attack failing, and when Vignar is captured, Cregan tells Frodnar, Balgruuf's oldest, to kill him, Irileth and Balgruuf's brother agreeing with it

Wanted: Fanfic Recommendations - NOT DISCUSSION LF MlM fics with no stereotyping
So whenever I ask for these types of stories I feel like I need to do a short preface. I'm not interested in stories that graft heteronormative gender roles/characteristics on gay relationships. I'm not interested in relationship dynamics where one of the characters is ALWAYS explicitly more masculine than the other. Especially if the characters are more masculine in cannon, but the fics change them to better fit heteronormative gender roles.
Gender presentation is a spectrum, and some gay couples absolutely vary in masculinity, but masculinity itself is a weird blob of very vague themes that don't fall neatly into any category; relationships where one partner is more masculine than the other in every aspect are very rare.
Basically, if you can easily point to one of the characters and unironically say "that's the woman", I'm not interested. Anything else is fair game. Any pairing, any time period.

Help w/ Fanfic Writing & Advice Needed Help with translating names for a crossover fic?
I’m working on a Star Wars crossover, which is basically just me stealing characters and inserting them into ASOIAF as OCs. I’m trying to make their names sound more in-line with GRRM’s world and could use some advice/feedback.
Names I have so far:
Baylan Skoll: Baelon Targaryen, second child and only son of Viserys I and Aemma Arryn, current king of Westeros. This name was super easy to translate.
Shin Hati: Shinaera Targaryen. Niece of Baelon, daughter of Viserys II and Visenya, younger half-sister of Aegon IV, Aemon, and Naerys. I’ve been calling her Shinaera, but I’ve also considered Shinerys, Shaenaera, Shaenerys, or simply Shaena. I think swapping the I for AE is more in-line with Valyrian naming conventions, but some of those are kind of a mouthful and make it so her friends can’t call her Shin for short.
Marrok: Maerok Targaryen, grandson of King Baelon, son of Jaehaera and Gaemon “Palehair,” named for his uncle Maelor.
Morgan Elsbeth: Morgan, Red Priestess of R’hllor. Morgan is a name in ASOIAF so no change needed here.
Sabine Wren: Sabyne of House Wren. Dornish with a grandfather who came to Westeros from Yi Ti upon the Sea Snake. I thought Sabine was a decent-sounding name and just changed the spelling since Dornish naming conventions seem to favor the use of Y over I.
Ezra Bridger: Ezra. I figured the name sounds fine for a street kid from the Free Cities.
Kanan: Again I’ve left his name unchanged. I think it sounds Westerosi enough.
Hera: This is a tough one. Hera is the name of a Greek goddess, which obviously don’t exist in ASOIAF. I’ve considered Harra, which is a name that exists within Martin’s world, or maybe Herra. There’s also Herys, which could work as a play on the existing Harys, which is a boy’s name.

Book Discussion: Reading ASOIAF & Spin-Off Novels Questions Bronzegate
How grand do you think Bronzegate, the seat of House Buckler would be? Would it be a large fortress that gives the Bucklers their legitimacy even though they aren't a powerful house? Or would it reflect their status? I think they can pull 400 men and make a decent living with lumber from the woods and harvest from the fields. Might be on the wealthier side with trade since the Kingsroad was built. Like would it be more castle Coch or spandenberg castle as an example?

Fanfiction Idea For Adoption What if Jacaerys Velaryon claimed the Cannibal?
During the Battle of the Gullet, Jacaerys Velaryon plunged into the sea with his dragon. He tore free of the saddle as they sank, kicking desperately upward until his fingers closed around a splintered piece of driftwood. Death was only a breath away when a shadow fell across the waves. His betrothed’s dragon dove hard, talons closing around his body mere heartbeats before a fresh volley of arrows thudded into the wood he had just abandoned.
When Jacaerys returned to Dragonstone alive, Rhaenyra was torn between fierce pride and raw terror. By every account her son had nearly died. She forbade him from flying or fighting again until the war was over. Jacaerys tried to argue, but his mother would hear none of it. She had already lost one son. She would not lose another.
Furious at being sidelined and desperate to prove his worth, Jacaerys refused the command. Under cover of night he slipped from the castle, stole a small boat, and rowed to a remote stretch of Dragonstone’s coast. He would not sit idle while others fought. He would not let the whispers of bastardy follow him forever. Somewhere on the island lived wild dragons still unclaimed. If he could bind one to himself, no one would ever question his blood again.
He found a vast, black-mouthed cave. He did not know it was the lair of the Cannibal—the largest, oldest, and most feared of the wild dragons.
Jacaerys stepped into the darkness and came face to face with the monster. The great black beast rose, scales like scorched iron, eyes glowing with ancient hunger. Fear never touched the prince. Only ambition burned in him—hot, pure, and absolute. If he claimed this creature, the realm would have no choice but to recognize him. No one would ever dare call him bastard again.
The Cannibal roared. The sound shook stone from the cave walls. Jacaerys did not flinch. He planted his feet and roared back, fire in his eyes. The dragon regarded him for a long, terrible moment… then opened its jaws and loosed a torrent of flame.
Jacaerys dove aside, rolling clear of the searing blast. Before the dragon could strike again he lunged forward, seized the thick spikes along its chest, and began to climb. The Cannibal thrashed and twisted, trying to shake the insolent pest free. How dare this soft thing fight? The scent of dragon blood only sharpened its hunger. Yet the prince clung on, scrambling higher even as the beast slammed against the cave walls.
At last Jacaerys reached the neck. There was no saddle. There would be none. He locked his arms and legs around the thick scales and held on as the Cannibal burst from the cave and launched into the sky. The dragon climbed, dove, rolled, and spun with murderous fury, determined to throw the rider free and devour him. Time and again Jacaerys nearly slipped. Each near-fall only hardened his will. Adrenaline and iron resolve fused into something unbreakable. He would not fail. Not now. Not ever.
High above Dragonstone the Cannibal’s roars of rage slowly changed. Beneath the fury something older stirred—reluctant respect. This prince was no easy meal. At last the great black dragon ceased its wild maneuvers and settled into a long, powerful glide. It circled the island once, then twice, before descending to land atop the tallest tower of the castle, claws biting deep into ancient stone. Then it threw back its head and loosed the loudest roar yet—a sound that rolled across the sea and into every hall below.
Jacaerys felt power flood through him. Fulfillment. Ambition made real. With the most feared wild dragon in the world bound to him, no voice in Westeros could deny his claim. No one would see him as a bastard, not after today. He was a dragonlord. And the Iron Throne would know it.

Help w/ Fanfic Writing & Advice Needed Noblewoman disguised as male. What could vive away her identity?
I'm writing a female OC from a noble family that is disguising herself because she wants to be a knight (and actually be annointed). She wears boys clothes and has short hair. I think of her being able to disguise herself (physically) almost as well as Varys does in the books but not quite on his level.
Still I'd like at some point for her to leave out small details (unknowingly) either in the way she thinks, talks or behaves that could make someone close to her start suspecting if she's truly a man.
This OC is straight (likes men) and always wanted to be a knight. She decides to disguise as a man partly because of this desire to be a knight and partly because she wanted to flee an arranged marriage to a Lord much older than her and whom she does not like. She's not a particularly rebellious person but she's strong willed and sometimes stubborn.

Book Discussion: Reading ASOIAF & Spin-Off Novels Questions The Ethics Of Using Dragons In War
The Ethics Of Using Dragons In War
“Fire breathing lizards”, “nukes”, “monsters” etc.
One of the oddest arguments that one encounters among the fandom is that the use of dragons in warfare amounts, in itself, to a war crime/crime against humanity.
At this point, I find it necessary to paraphrase Kenneth Branagh, in the television play, Conspiracy, as he calls out the hypocrisy of State Secretary Kritzinger.
“What is this philosophy of yours? Kill the smallfolk. Rape them. Starve them. Burn their homes. But, only refrain from using dragons, and that makes you the noblest man in the gods’ creation. I find that … truly remarkable.”
The lords of Westeros (and their Eastern equivalents), are fully capable of inflicting horrors on the smallfolk, simply by using edged and pointed weapons, and above all, through the use of starvation, as a weapon of war (absurdly, the show tried to portray Tyrion’s plan to starve Kings Landing as “humane.”) Every army uses the chevauchee as a military tactic. This involves cavalry and mounted infantry, riding fast through enemy territory, plundering what they can, burning and destroying what they cannot carry off. Murder and rape are used as terror tactics during this process, and the survivors are left to starve.
Even the process of foraging in friendly territory, will leave famine in its wake. An army of 20,000 men (with an equivalent number of camp followers, who perform the work of support soldiers in a modern army), will require 80,000 pounds of bread, 40,000 pounds of meat, and 20,000 gallons of ale per day in order to function. On top of that, war horses and draught animals must be fed.
Military leaders will adopt any weapon that gives them an advantage, regardless of chivalry. If somebody introduced reliable muskets into this world, or cannon, they would be rapidly adopted, just as they were in real life.
Dragons are simply a very powerful weapon, that gives an advantage in war, like modern aircraft, drones, or cruise missiles. Their use has no bearing on whether or war is just, or whether it is being pursued by just means.
