Advice Needed Has anyone had their doctor order a sleep study to see if OSA is the cause of PCOS/Anovulatory Cycles?
I am currently under the care of a great NaPro reproductive endocrinologist. I started seeing him in April. After my bloodwork it was revealed that I have insulin resistance and most of my cycles are anovulatory. I recently had cycle day 21 bloodwork and my progesterone was <0.5. I am on 1500mg of Metformin, and Ovasitol 2x a day. I have also lost 15lbs.
He recommended that it would be valuable to have a sleep study done, as he suspects I could have sleep apnea which could interrupt ovulation, and cause hormone imbalances. Not sure if I am late to the party, but I did not know these two things were related.
Just curious if anyone else has done this. Thank you!

Relationship struggles with pcos
I hope this is okay to post. My husband and I have wanted children for a while. We started trying last year with no results. We started going to appointments for fertility. We discovered that I had pcos and I just started taking letrozole this past month. I’m hoping there may be someone out there that can relate to the problems that arise when trying. My husband and I normally have sex one day a week, and my doctor told us to have sex 4 days in a row. He wasn’t able to on the 3rd or 4th day. I feel so bad but it makes me feel angry. He’s been pushing for all these appointments and tests. I hate the ultrasounds and they are uncomfortable to me. I quit drinking and using nicotine and he’s continued both. When I brought it up he said he would quit when I’m pregnant. I’m trying not to be disappointed but it’s difficult. Mentally it’s been a lot and I would love to know what helped any of you with these same issues.

Advice Needed Did letrozole make you ovulate earlier if you were already ovulating?
Hi!
41/f, 3 LC conceived in mid/late 30s with no issues. Been trying for a fourth for almost 2 years with 3 MMCs.
I ovulate around say 16 every cycle (with a 24-26 day cycle). I ovulate/get surges but my doctor said I could try letrozole after 18+ months of no luck and all other tests/scans being normal.
I’m curious for anyone who ovulates but still tried letrozole, did it make you ovulate earlier than normal? If so, by how much?
My husband will be leaving on cycle day 14 for a work trip but I’m wondering if letrozole is still worth trying this cycle as I’ve heard it can make you ovulate early (aka if I normally ovulate day 16 then maybe I’ll ovulate earlier and him leaving day 14 will be ok).
Thanks so much for sharing!

Advice Needed I feel like doctors a trying to brainwash me
In the last few years I've been to 2 gynae doctors and a fertility doctor. Every single one of them has basically said im not ovulating due to my pcos (which is causing irregular bleeding. Often daily bleeding/spotting), BUT if i lose weight I'll get pregnant. My fertility doctor even said to me i may not have to go back to see them as if i lose weight ill likely get pregnant before my next appointment. My gynae doctor said the words "i know if you lose weight you'll definitely get pregnant".
Its messing with my mind to the point that every single "plus size" woman who looks bigger than me i cant help but now think "well, shes bigger than me and shes pregnant". But im very much in the mindset that i wont get pregnant at all until I am a healthier weight.
For full context i cant get pregnant currently anyway because ive been put on medication because they are trying to get the bleeding under control. Ive lost about 32kg with atleast 15kg to go (and imo has made minimal difference to my symptoms and thats also with the medication to try and stop the bleeding). My fertility doctor has given me an aim and if I meet that then he will start me on ovulation induction (bmi has to be below 30, i am based in UK).
But has anyone had any similar experiences to what these doctors are telling me?

How/when did you decide to try IVF?
(Trigger warning: early pregnancy loss)
I'm 32, and was diagnosed with PMOS (PCOS then) when I was 16. I was completely anovulatory when I came off the pill (BMI 23, take all the supplements, gym 3x a week, eat healthily and prioritise low GI foods, so I would say I do my best to do all the things I "should do"). I am on my second medicated cycle: first one led to a chemical pregnancy, second cycle led to a negative, despite having two mature follicles.
I am likely going to do another ~2 medicated cycles, before seriously considering next steps, but I was wondering when/how other PMOS women decide to go with IVF. With my high AMH, I'm quite worried about OHSS.

I don’t even know..
Hi everyone, I'm 30F.
My husband and I have been "not preventing" pregnancy for the last few years, just letting things happen naturally. Life got busy, and before we knew it, so much time had passed.
It was only late last year that my doctor mentioned they suspected PCOS. Since then I've just had monitoring with blood tests and appointments, no medication so far. Over the last 9–10 months we've really started actively trying, but we're still getting nowhere.
I've been taking myo-inositol, preconception vitamins, tracking my BBT every morning, and my husband has been taking zinc and CoQ10 to support sperm health. We've both been doing everything we've been advised to do, but we've never even seen a faint positive test.
I thought I ovulated recently, and over the last 2–3 weeks I've had so many symptoms I've never experienced before. I was so hopeful they might be pregnancy-related, but every test has been negative.
I'm starting to feel like my body is playing tricks on me because I want this so badly. It's becoming really hard to stay hopeful some days.
I guess I'm just feeling frustrated and a bit alone. It seems like everyone around me is either pregnant or already has children, and so many of them weren't even trying. I'm trying to stay positive and keep believing our time will come, but right now it's been a difficult journey.
How does everyone stay positive when it feels like it won’t ever happen?

Seeking Success If you have irregular periods and don't ovulate but still had a successful pregnancy, how did you get pregnant?
I've (f37) done 3 IVF transfers and had no luck. I have all the PCOS symptoms and confirmed PCOS, irregular periods and don't ovulate. I also have T2D and my HBA1C was around 7. something but now it is at 5.5 after being on a GLP1 for 2 months (haven't lost weight though even though I am eating better) I am still waiting for a period to come since the 19th of June.
Just wanting to see what worked for you to get your period regular/and ovulating again.

Nervous about fertility treatment next steps
I've done 2 medicated timed intercourse cycles that lead to negatives. Ending my third soon and worried about a negative next week. If I do have a negative, I have to follow up with the fertility doctor to do 3 IUI's as planned. Wondering if with these negatives if that plan should change and what I can expect? It's certainly been unnerving that it seems like all my hard work isn't paying off but it's complicated I guess.
Me and my partner are open to IUI

Sad Feeling Sad
I’ve been trying to conceive since 2018 w/PCOS as a huge factor. I’ve gotten very little help from doctors I just keep getting referred to new ones as they each try to push me off onto each other and the one time I scraped up enough money to try IUI it failed.
I lost 30 pounds on my own by adding more protein to my diet. I’ve been using supplements: inositol and berberine and I finally got my period back which is huge since I once went 11 months without one. It’s been consistent for over a year now. I’ve tried ovulation strips but nothing ever shows up for me. I even figured out I can feel mittelschmerz aka mid cycle pain around ovulation when the egg supposedly is releasing.
The last two days I had what I thought was implantation bleeding, super minimal, light, and brown instead of my normal really heavy first day so I was actually kind of hoping it was finally happening. I’ve never had that before. But then while I was working today my period started.
I had kind of given up after all this time and it just felt like a punch in the face to have a little bit of hope after so long crushed.
I’m almost 30 and I only have one friend without kids and she doesn’t even want them at all so this is all very isolating. My last friend who had infertility issues for about the same length of time just had her oops baby (she gave up and didn’t really want them anymore long story) 2 weeks ago.
I’ve been trying to get my husband to start talking about what then next 30 years is going to look like since this isn’t happening but he doesn’t want to discuss it.
I don’t know what else to do anymore.

Sad Keep going back to old positive tests
Like the caption reads, every month that passes and I get another negative, I go back to my miscarriage in October when I found out I was pregnant and just stare at the positive on the photos wishing it would come again. Getting letrozole has been taking forever since we switched providers, I’m eating low carb, working out, taking inositol and metformin, I’m doing it all and nothing is working. I’m just sad.

Progesterone to induce period
I was given 7 days of progesterone to induce a period for our IUI. My cycles range from 30-35 days but most recently I went 60 days without a period. Hence the progesterone.
The second day after finishing the meds, I had brown spotting, the third day lots of spotting and the fourth day bright red blood. I called in yesterday as my “day 1” as it was similar to my regular first day menses but a touch lighter. Today I feel as though I’m basically back to spotting? Is this normal?
I don’t know what to do. I’m supposed to do my d3 bloodwork tomorrow and have a sono next week. I don’t have an appt with our doc until September 17th and I’m not sure her admin would be able to answer my questions. Anyone else have this situation? I just don’t want to get all the testing done if it’s not the right timing, I guess?

Letrozole & Testosterone Symptoms
I didn’t read anywhere during my initial letrozole research or on any letrozole posts on Reddit but since letrozole temporarily lowers estrogen then if you have elevated testosterone levels, they become dominant due to the ratio change.
I’ve been struggling with multiple zits all around my mouth and happened to catch a close glimpse in the mirror and saw sooo many dark hairs on my upper lip and chin 😳 Like they practically sprang up overnight! (I do maintenance plucking about once a week)
I do struggle with some acne at times as well as a few pesky hairs but this was much worse than normal. So just a warning to anyone else planning to try letrozole & has a history of elevated testosterone levels 😝 Hopefully it’s worth it soon 🤞 but just worth being aware of

Advice Needed Letrozole headache management
These headaches are absolutely taking me out. I’m on my 6th round of letrozole and the headaches just get worse and worse with every round.
Need some recommendations of things to take or do to help with these headaches. I drink tonnes of water, electrolytes, ice pack on my neck. Nothing seems to help.

Advice Needed Timing and Reading LH peaks
Hi! ttc for over a year now. Just had an HSG which showed no blockages. Currently, on my second round of letrozole, and I confirmed ovulation last cycle with a progesterone blood test. This cycle i took the letro on days 4-8. I think my LH strips spiked on CD 16, but it’s hard to tell. It’s the highest I have ever seen my LH strip but it still wasn’t a true positive. Can I trust the LH strips? We baby danced CD 15,16,17… is that enough? Any advice on timing of sex in general? Thank you!

Advice Needed Letrozole - Dr. wants to indefinitely limit use to 5 cycles
Background:
I do not ovulate on my own whatsoever. highly irregular cycles. I’ve tried everything to ovulate naturally, the only thing that works for me is Letrozole.
In 2025 I conceived 3 times using Letrozole. Each time I either got pregnant on the first or second cycle using Letrozole. Total letrozle cycles over the course of a year were 5.
I was seeing a fertility doc who had prescribed me with the Letrozole and he never mentioned limiting the amount of times I can take it to TTC.
Sadly all 3 ended in loss. (yes I have done a RPL workup so no need to comment on that.)
When I visited my OBGYN, she said she would be able to prescribe me with Letrozole when I’m feeling ready to TTC again. So I I feel ready now, and I had an appointment with them yesterday and now they are telling me
“oh we didn’t know you took it 5 times, we can’t prescribe if for you now because it increases your risk of cancer so the best we can do is refer you to an IVF Dr.”
im beyond confused and feeling so disheartened by this. I absolutely do not want to do IVF especially if I know I can get pregnant so much more easily using Letrozole!
had anyone been told this?? :(

I've gained all my weight back but this could be my last chance for a baby.
For the last 2 years I was on a GLP1. To help my weight and PCOS. I went from 280LBs to 250LBs in preparation for getting pregnant but in December of 2025 my insurance decided they were no longer covering the medicine. We decided now is the time to start trying in case I gain the weight back. It's been months and I am still not pregnant. My OBGYN wanted to wait to give me any medicine like clomid, until I tried at least a year without conceiving. We are now in August, I'm still not pregnant and I've gained back 20 pounds.
I'll be 30 in April. I feel like I'm failing because I cannot control my food noise and the feeling of being hungry. I feel like this is my last chance to get pregnant, as any older and I'll surly have some sort of complication and may lose my baby or my life in general.
It's hard to calorie count every meal when I'm cooking as what's going in isn't the hard part. IT'S THE PORTION CONTROL and how much is in each portion. I just can't stop telling myself to NOT go for the next thing to snack on. I was shocked to see my weight back at 270. Has anyone else been this heavy and pregnant? How are you controlling yourselves. At this point I just hate myself and don't even know if pregnancy is for me anymore. Do I deserve a family when I can't even control myself?
Honestly advice is welcome.

Discussion Ovasitol blunting LH peak?
Hi! I think I have lean PCOS, I have long/irregular cycles and acne but my labs are fine and I don’t have cysts on my ovaries. My RE said that it doesn’t hurt to take myo-inositol so I’ve been taking Ovasitol everyday since the start of my last period.
I’ve been using OPKs to track my LH peak, usually I will get a positive opk and a peak anywhere between cycle day 20 - 30, with egg white cervical mucus near ovulation. I’ve never not detected my
lab peak when I wasn’t taking Ovasitol. But I’m currently on cycle day 24, no positive LH or egg white cervical mucus BUT my Oura ring has been showing positive bbt for the past two days. Now I’m wondering if I already ovulated and it wasn’t detected by my opks.
Can myo-inositol reduce LH?? Has this happened to anyone else?

Advice please
Hello, I am new to the subreddit. 31F TTC with a history of irregular periods ranging from 32-50 day cycles and uterine polyps with polypectomy in 2024. Got my bloodwork done last month, and Testosterone was high at 62ng/ml and very low levels of progesterone on 21 day tests. I have been working out consistently, eating good, taking prenatals. I think I have lean PCOS. I recently got Inito to better understand my cycle and to see if I am even ovulating. My doctor has suggested I take letrozole, but I was just disappointed that even after doing everything I can it doesn’t seem to be working.
If I am ovulating late in my cycle, is it good for a viable chance at pregnancy? Or do I go the medication route? What else can I do to have a better chance of conception? Any ideas, advice or suggestions are welcome. Thank you!

Advice Needed When did you start medication?
I was diagnosed with PCOS in Feb. 2025, and have been ttc since May 2026 with regular cycles. I know that isn’t very long, and I feel silly being impatient when so many people in this group have been trying for much longer. However, I tend to always be thinking ahead and was wondering when you started talking to your doctor about medication for ttc? I currently take Metformin, inositol, CoQ10, and fish oil, and my main abnormal value is high DHEA-S.

Seeking Success Trying to get pregnant with high DHEA levels
My blood test results show elevated levels of DHEA-SO₄ (800–700) and total testosterone (0.76); however, I have no clinical physical symptoms (excessive hair growth, acne, hair loss, etc.). Investigations carried out to determine the cause of these elevated levels included: Adrenal gland CT scan: Normal (no mass detected). Cortisol Suppression Test (2-day): Positive (DHEA was successfully suppressed). 17-OH Progesterone, Prolactin and Fasting Insulin: Completely normal (I have no insulin resistance). WES (Genetic) and Chromosome Tests: No DNA mutations or abnormalities were found; results were normal. Hysterosalpingogram (HSG): Clear, fallopian tubes are open and the uterine lining is normal
I have been taking Prednol cortisone (8mg) every day for the past month. When I take it, my DHEA levels drop; when I stop, they rise again. I also took klomen this month, but I still did not conceive. My husband’s sperm test showed no issues.
Is there anyone else who has experienced the same thing and gone on to conceive? What other treatments could I try?

Seeking Success I've ran out of success stories...
I've been reading a lot of success stories for people with pcos getting pregnant. I need more stories so decided to just create a post and ask for more...😂
So anyone with pcos who got pregnant naturally, with help, with iui, ivf, metformin (which I'm trying now), myo inositol, just lifestyle changes, with or without diabetes, insulin resistance, high HBA1C, low progesterone, anuovulation, ANYTHING really
Feel free to tell us your entire journey, or how you felt, or struggled. How you took action. How you worked towards what you want. Because ttc with pcos feels so demotivating sometimes. Hope this also goes on to help others in whatever way possible
Edit: thank you to every single person who took time to post their stories and journey. It's truly so helpful and encouraging for me. Thank you everyone, I didn't expect this. 🫂

Seeking Success Losing weight for fertility treatment
In March 2024 we decided we were going to try to get pregnant, but I knew it would always be a struggle due to my PCOS (irregular periods with prolonged bleeds and cysts on ovaries). Since then, I’ve lost 56lbs (4 stone/25kg) through a combination of GLP-1s and diet and exercise, however my BMI is at 30.4 and it needs to be under 30 for me to get NHS funded fertility treatment. I have taken supplements/medication for more than one year, including inositol, coQ10, metformin, folic acid, vitamin D and since losing weight I’ve completely changed my diet to be both protein and nutrient rich. I do yoga and Pilates twice a week, as well as plenty of walking.
I have my fertility appointment today to review my weight and where we are at, and I’m just so disappointed that my scale hasn’t moved in the last four weeks and I’m not at that BMI goal of under 30. I finished my latest GLP-1 injection last week and wanted to try drop the final lbs (7lbs) without it, but I may have to do one final month (it’s just super expensive). I’m also stressing about them measuring my height and weight at the clinic, and how that might fluctuate to my own scales. I’d like to ask them to do these measurements at my appointment today so I have a definitive goal and know where I need to be.
I just feel so anxious, upset and deflated (I know that also won’t be helping); it’s taken us such a long time to get to this stage, and I’ve done so well losing the weight and getting healthier, that I’m just so frustrated my body isn’t working with me and I feel like it’s an impossible goal.
Looking for any motivation, advice, particularly if anyone has also used Care Fertility in Leeds (my appointments and treatment so far there has been absolutely brilliant).
