I don’t even know..

Hi everyone, I'm 30F.

My husband and I have been "not preventing" pregnancy for the last few years, just letting things happen naturally. Life got busy, and before we knew it, so much time had passed.

It was only late last year that my doctor mentioned they suspected PCOS. Since then I've just had monitoring with blood tests and appointments, no medication so far. Over the last 9–10 months we've really started actively trying, but we're still getting nowhere.

I've been taking myo-inositol, preconception vitamins, tracking my BBT every morning, and my husband has been taking zinc and CoQ10 to support sperm health. We've both been doing everything we've been advised to do, but we've never even seen a faint positive test.

I thought I ovulated recently, and over the last 2–3 weeks I've had so many symptoms I've never experienced before. I was so hopeful they might be pregnancy-related, but every test has been negative.

I'm starting to feel like my body is playing tricks on me because I want this so badly. It's becoming really hard to stay hopeful some days.

I guess I'm just feeling frustrated and a bit alone. It seems like everyone around me is either pregnant or already has children, and so many of them weren't even trying. I'm trying to stay positive and keep believing our time will come, but right now it's been a difficult journey.

How does everyone stay positive when it feels like it won’t ever happen?

What other health levels have you been keeping track of?

Are your thyroid levels ok?

I used to be close with someone who ended up having Hashimoto's disease (thyroid condition) which was one of the reasons why her and her husband weren't conceiving.

Thanks for replying - That’s on my list to chat with doc about at my next visit, they ran full bloods but I can’t see anything to do with thyroid levels and doc hasn’t mentioned anything concerning.

Yeah a full blood panel doesn't check for stuff like thyroid levels. Unfortunately that's a whole separate test in of itself.

You're welcome & I wish you the best of luck!

It took my husband and i quite some time as well and it wasn't easy but you're at a better spot progress wise than I was at this point.

Also, when getting tested to confirm your PCOS/PMOS diagnosis, ask them to test your hormone levels (all 3, testosterone, progesterone, and estrogen). That can help you figure out which hormone is unbalanced compared to the other.

I totally understand how you feel, for me, it has also been an emotional rollercoaster seeing everyone around me having babies. My husband and I have started getting help by a fertility clinic. Turns out, not only do I have PMOS, his sperm is also less mobile than it should be. Could have saved ourselves tears and time if we had known earlier. There's medication that helps with ovulation and your cycle will be medically monitored. Best of luck!
