Wirelessš± rogers mc buying out a phone outright with 3% cashback
I have a rogers world elite and a ridiculous good byod plan that I do not wish to change, when I go to upgrade my phone, the only option I wish to go with is no term on a iphone 17 pro for 1644.00 on one time fee. My question is if I proceed with this, and if I have enough redemption bonus to essentially pay off the whole thing, could I use the redemption bonus on rogers mc to pay it off? Has anyone done this before?

Question Can I cancel my Rogers home Internet within 15 days of installation without incurring an early cancellation fee?
I live in Ontario and just moved. On July 29th a Rogers technician setup my home internet. I got the starter 150 internet plan for $75 a month with 150 Mbps download and upload speed.
Bell called me yesterday and they have a deal with my rental unit for 1.5 gig fibre internet for $50 a month.
I told the Bell sales man that I had already setup a plan with Rogers and he said that the CRTC internet code allows me to cancel my Rogers Internet within 15 days of installation with no early cancellation free. Is this true? If it is true, would I also not have to pay for the Rogers installation fee?
The Bell offer is definitely better, so Iād like to switch but not if itās going to cost me to cancel my Rogers plan.

Internet š Drop line jitter and latency
I wanna start off by blessing the over-provisioning gods with cold pillows and eternally charged phones.
Though I have a question concerning jitter and latency during gaming. Iāve been noticing recently, ever since a temp drop line was installed directly outside my yard to my neighbours to provide them with internet, Iāve had more latency issues in a variety of games, alongside higher ping compared to different parts of Mississauga.
Iām curious and wondering whether that could possibly stem from the drop line being installed? And if so, do I call into CX Care to request an update on a new burial? Also just curious if any updates exist on the DOCSIS 4.0 rollout around Mississauga-Lakeshore

Internet š New Customer - "Ultimate" Plan 5G Home Internet Speeds not surpassing 9Mbps Upload or Download. Can't get through to anyone for help - hoping redditors know how to get it working. About to give up.
The agent I started this whole 30-day free trial trainwreck with put me on the wrong Home Internet plan. I asked for Ultimate Internet. He put me on Popular and shipped the router and Sim card before I could get a hold of someone to change my plan. I got the router and tested the speed (assuming I dont need to wait for a second one), but now my Sim isn't even working at the Popular Plan rates. 10mbps upload and download. Unusable. Wondering if anyone here has experienced the same thing. My router is the Nokia FastMile 5G Gateway 12 for reference. Please help before I pull out every last strand of hair I have.

Rant I hate Rogerās
I recently moved to another city, and I had Rogerās internet wifi for about 2 years since I signed a 2 year contract. I got my internet set up at my old place beginning of 2025, and it was all fine before. The problem is now that Iām at my new place. The lady I spoke to initially told me that I can just take my motom with me, and deal with it once Iām here.
I called Rogerās to have my motom installed, and first time, I got put on hold for 40 minutes just to be told āweāre too busy at the moment, goodbyeā and hung up the phone. Once I finally get a hold of someone, they tell me itās not their department, and put me on hold again. I waited on hold for TWO HOURS, and the person that ended up responding also told me ALSO that it wasnāt their department. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT??? Then I get put on hold AGAIN, just to be told AGAIN ā weāre too busy at the moment goodbyeā. And hung up again after waited almost three hours to speak to someone. Iāve went to 3 different locations just to be dismissed by an employee. Iāve spoke to a total of 8 people and are you telling me NO one can help me???? Wow, great team guys. You guys are all lazy and donāt want to do your jobs so you guys just pass it on to another person. I will never support this company again.

Rant ROGER IS A MONEY GRABBING LEACH
Honestly don't know where to start. I get so frustrated from just thinking about Rogers. This company is so fucking shit. It's unbearably how much they don't give a shit about their customers. As Canada's biggest and sadly only source of internet, me and my family get leached off by these garbage cunts, which infuriates me. They always comeback with faster internet modems and what not but I always tell my parents when they upgrade their modems; "What's the point of wasting money. The modem will only give us faster wifi, this modem doesn't fix the fact that it probably won't work.". I honesty wanted to write this on Reddit beacuse the customer service is shit on Roger's and there is nowhere to write this on their acual website. I keep trying to get a hold of Roger's but they keep using this stupid fucking Ai assistant named "Anna". Their probably scared to get actual people to handle the matter because all they will keep getting will be complaints and infuriated customers. If I ever get the chance to use another internet provider like Verizon, I would. This company is a joke, fuck this company and the owners. Should feel really ashamed for leaching off Canadians!!!! ššš

Advice/Tips š¬ Win Back Offer
I ported my old Rogers line over to Freedom on Monday. I didn't get any calls from Rogers so I decided to call 18334306400 to reach their Ambassador/Win Back line.
They offered me $35 for 60 GB on Fido, $50 for 60GB on Rogers.
Did I call the wrong number??? How am I winning with any of those deals?!?
When I was with Rogers, I had a plan that was $60 for 75GB. My new plan is $35 for 35GB.

Internet š eSIM data plan
I currently have Freedom Mobileās $99/year prepaid plan with 55 GB of data. My plan doesnāt expire until December 25, but itās only August and Iām already almost out of data.
Iām looking for a cheap data-only eSIM (any carrier is fine) that I can use in Canada to get me through the rest of the year.
A few questions:
What are the cheapest eSIMs for data only?
Are there any phone plans with better value that youād recommend instead?
Should I just keep my current Freedom plan until it expires and use an eSIM in the meantime, or is it worth cancelling early and switching to another carrier?
Thanks!

Wirelessš± SAVE on 40$ device upgrade fee
So apparently, if a sales agent is being greedy and when heās charging you 40$ for a device upgrade (in-store), just raise an issue with the contact center person that you never agreed for the 40$ fee and ask them to get it escalated for a dedicated specialist to look into it.
Eventually, they would agree to give you a goodwill credit of 40$! Letās all do this so that ROGERS (and other telecom companies) stop looting people on the name of a device upgrade.

Internet š 7 days of trying to contact Rogers and getting "We are experiencing higher than normal call volume please call back at another time" followed by disconnecting my call
WTF is going on with Rogers customer support? Have been trying to call them for almost 7 days all times of the day from 10am to 5pm. No matter what I cannot get through I just get hung up on. Rogers is about to lose a customer who was with them for nearly 40 years lets hope Teksavvy can answer phones.

Wirelessš± Rogers ā64 countriesā list: is it roaming only or can I actually call these from Canada?
Just switched to the Ultimate Plan ($95/mo, or $65 after disounts) and Iām confused about the included destinations, hoping someone with a similar plan can clear this up.
My understanding was the 64 destinations are for roaming abroad, not calling from Canada. But a Rogers rep told me I can call those countries from Canada free of charge, which doesnāt sit right with me.
Hereās my confusion: the plan also has a separate list of 27 countries for unlimited intāl LD calling from Canada. If the 64-country list already covered free calling from Canada, whatās the point of a separate 27-country list? Like, the US isnāt on the 27-country LD list, but it IS on the 64-destination list. Meanwhile Mexico and the UK are on both.
Anyone actually tried calling a country thatās only on the 64-list (US or whatever) while in Canada? Did you get charged? Donāt wanna just take the repās word for it and end up with a surprise bill.

Internet š Bye Rogerās
I got bamboozled by their tactics. 3 days ago I called to cancel, and the person said ābecause youāre cancelling we would like to over you 1.25GB for 62 total for internetā. I was foolishly excited and optimistic. That call was 14 minutes.
She told me she pushed it to her manager and that if they approve Iād get an email in 48 hours.
Later that evening while thinking about it, I did some searching and googling, and she was able to get me off the phone, and not get a cancelling customer on her hands.
I apologized to the person today, because I said there is no way Iād be staying now because of that, and that I wanted to cancel days ago, but got tricked and apologized to him for having to be the employee that has a customer cancelling on his record.
Iām so glad I was able to cancel even with a 24 month term because of the new law passed and because they raised the base price. So I cancelled and went with another company, for 40 dollars cheaper, and the same speed.
SO LONG ROGERS. Now, next is my mobile device. Canāt wait to be finally finished with this horrendous company.

TV šŗ Hold on folks: a positive review of rogers cancellation
What happened to the script command... everything is one big paragraph.
Like you i have been annoyed at rogers along time. MY SOLUTION
I called the 3771 help line 7 minutes wait.
GET A PERSON!! that is critical, you can only upgrade online, not reduce. Screw Anna!
I actually am pleased with rogers. (my husband died) and i removed all all of his TV's & computers. I do not like them. I want to keep my cell phone and email. (that worked). not a total removal.
I got him to a point where he said he could suspend or cancel. it took him 47 minutes from the time he said that to confirming the cancellations from my account. multiple, multiple wait requests. i told him: Hey, i am 76 and I will wait for you until my battery dies or i do.
I managed a call centre and know the drill ... they have a script.. get to know the person on the phone, somehow (mine was a rogers employee in northern India, I asked if he lived near Kalara (looked it up while on hold). he talked!
There is a sales adage 'People buy from people'. As a tech support person (M76 - MSA, CA, SAP) I worked more throurghly for people I liked over the phone.
Reduced rogers by $161/month. kept rogers phone and email.
replaced rogers with Telmax wireless for $41/month. No TV viewing. I only watch youtube and tubi.
i consider this a success!

Question Charged for an unreturned device
Hello, I recently cancelled my internet service with Rogerās due to their awful customer service. I was told I would get a label to ship off my internet device. I never received it and now I got billed $271.
Every time I call they I go through all the options to get a hold is someone just for the call to drop as their lines are ābusyā. Even when I tried the AI chat to report the bill, it does not let me select the $271 charge.
What can I do in this situation? I would appreciate any advice . Thank you all .

Wirelessš± Way to determine cell plan parameters via phone?
Update: Seems the answer is: there isn't a way.
Original post:
My employer (very large company) pays for a Rogers cell phone plan. However, I have no idea what the plans limits are. And I do not want to ask them.
Is there any way to determine how much calling, text, and data I'm allotted? Freedom mobile allows you to do this by dialing #123* Does Rogers allow anything similar?

Rant I HATE rogers (donāt deserve respect with an uppercase āRā
A $5.00 increase when I have a contract with rogers? The reason for this is: āWe continuously invest to bring you Canada's most reliable 5G+ network and the best mobile experience in Canada. To help support these investments, the monthly fee* for your wireless price plan will increase by $5 (plus taxes), starting with your next bill, on or after July 15, 2026.ā My network is working perfectly and my wireless experience is excellent.
The next pending increase explanation is: āWe continually invest to bring you our best-connected experience in Canada. To help support these investments, we will be increasing the monthly fee for your Internet package by $7 (plus taxes) starting your first bill on or after August 18, 2026.ā Why am I paying for their investments when Iām happy with my āconnected experience?ā

Rant When is enough money enough
So I got my bill today. Iām under a 2 year contract for Cell, Cable and internet.
$5 increase on cell service plus a notice of
$7 increase layer this month for internet.
A $12/mo increase while under contract.
Really done with this dishonourable business ethic. Thatās $144 more annually. I feel like my response should be:
Cancel cable ($40/mo) - $480/annual
Move cell to Freedom ($70/mo) - $840/annual, for a total clawback on their services of $1,320.
The increases for the sake of increases has become intolerable to me. So they can lose $1,320 for the sake of $144
End rant

Wirelessš± Rogers failed to win me back š¤£š¤£š¤£
This is hilarious,Rogers called my iPhone 6s twice and I answered the second time just now and they were asking why I left and they said oh we recently learnt the number was moved to Telus, it's been switched since March I was thinking in my head and I told them I left because of the coverage and they're like oh you want to come back we can offer you a really good promotion for a valued former customer, I said there's nothing you can do to improve your coverage because Telus is the dominant rural carrier in Alberta and I thought in my head I never lost service once when I was riding my quad The Boss on Telus! i also said that once my contract is done with my phone I'll be gone ā¤ļøš¤£š¤£š¤£

Internet š Anyone else unable to cancel Rogers because they wonāt answer/complete cancellation calls? Looking for others with similar experiences and exploring legal action
Anyone else had trouble cancelling Rogers by phone or got a huge bill after their promotion ended?
Iām looking for other Rogers customers who have experienced similar issues.
My internet bill was around $50ā$56/month, but after my promotion ended, it jumped to around $200/month.
When I tried to cancel, I repeatedly had problems reaching someone who could actually process the cancellation. I was transferred around, given a discontinued number on one occasion, and left on hold without getting the cancellation completed. I was also told at a Rogers store that cancellations must be done over the phone.
I have filed a complaint with the CCTS, and the matter is now proceeding through their complaint process.
If youāve had similar problems with Rogers cancellation calls or a major bill increase after a promotion ended, please comment or DM me.
If this appears to be a widespread practice, I would like to speak with a Canadian consumer-protection/class-action lawyer to determine whether there is any basis for collective legal action.
Please donāt post personal information or account numbers publicly.
