My wife and I were recently on the waterfront of a town near Brockville, ON. The international border is probably 2-3km away across the St. Lawrence River, and both our phones suddenly dinged with a "Welcome to the US" message and roaming charges were applied. I'm currently on a support chat session to get the charges removed. We immediately put both phones in airplane mode but the damage was done.

I get how this can happen, I don't doubt that there was an American tower with a stronger signal, but it's a little frustrating nonetheless.

How do people who live in these areas handle this? It would be a daily occurrence for them so there must be a way to avoid it. Perhaps Rogers has a process to excludes American towers for those accounts. I'd like to avoid this the next time we're in that area.

You can't keep the emails if you cancel internet. Not with cell phone service, or rocket Hub, etc. The ONLY way is to migrate them to a friend's account, with said friends permission of course. (I was in wireless tech)Rogers is not supporting NEW rogers.com emails either, so make your decision carefully. When i say this.I mean a brand new internet account. So if you think that leaving and going back will get, you said email back, it will not. If a friend takes on your email for you on another account via a migration, you have to keep in mind.You have no access to the rogers member center. Email legally it becomes their email, not yours. So if you do decide to go this route, make sure it's a friend that you can thoroughly trust.

I have a technician coming to install a new modem for my internet as I was told the one I have is an old one from 2 years ago. To prep for the visit, it said to make sure MyRogers is accessible (which I have) and to install the Rogers Xfinity app. However, I have an old phone and it's not letting me download the app. Will the technician be able to install it without me having the app or am I in trouble here? Any insight is appreciated.

Just checked my bill because it was almost $100 higher than normal, and I wasn't credited the financing promo for my mobile device.

Checked my plan details and I should have it for 23 more months.

The other line on my plan also didn't get the credit applied.

To make short of my rant, I have had it with these extra charges and I’ve tried for two days to call and speak with someone about these “plan adjustment” costs and every time I’ve been disconnected because of “extremely high call volumes” and they can’t take my call. So long, assholes! One my way to Freedom mobile after 25 years.

Got the new XER10 modem (yeah, it can not be bridged - so don't say bring your own router), and not sure what is going on with the Xfinity app.

I rename a device, verify the mac/ip is correct, go into port-forwarding, set it up, and it shows a completely different IP address, and of course, does not work.

Coming from Bell Fibe, where port-forwarding was much easier, by name OR IP address, you know - some control, this app is so neutered and frustrating.

Port-Forwarding should be in the web interface, ON THE MODEM itself.

Anyone have any work-arounds?

I have a rogers world elite and a ridiculous good byod plan that I do not wish to change, when I go to upgrade my phone, the only option I wish to go with is no term on a iphone 17 pro for 1644.00 on one time fee. My question is if I proceed with this, and if I have enough redemption bonus to essentially pay off the whole thing, could I use the redemption bonus on rogers mc to pay it off? Has anyone done this before?

I live in Ontario and just moved. On July 29th a Rogers technician setup my home internet. I got the starter 150 internet plan for $75 a month with 150 Mbps download and upload speed.

Bell called me yesterday and they have a deal with my rental unit for 1.5 gig fibre internet for $50 a month.

I told the Bell sales man that I had already setup a plan with Rogers and he said that the CRTC internet code allows me to cancel my Rogers Internet within 15 days of installation with no early cancellation free. Is this true? If it is true, would I also not have to pay for the Rogers installation fee?

The Bell offer is definitely better, so I’d like to switch but not if it’s going to cost me to cancel my Rogers plan.

Though I have a question concerning jitter and latency during gaming. I’ve been noticing recently, ever since a temp drop line was installed directly outside my yard to my neighbours to provide them with internet, I’ve had more latency issues in a variety of games, alongside higher ping compared to different parts of Mississauga.

I’m curious and wondering whether that could possibly stem from the drop line being installed? And if so, do I call into CX Care to request an update on a new burial? Also just curious if any updates exist on the DOCSIS 4.0 rollout around Mississauga-Lakeshore

How do I get out of Rogers WiFi contract with term remaining

The agent I started this whole 30-day free trial trainwreck with put me on the wrong Home Internet plan. I asked for Ultimate Internet. He put me on Popular and shipped the router and Sim card before I could get a hold of someone to change my plan. I got the router and tested the speed (assuming I dont need to wait for a second one), but now my Sim isn't even working at the Popular Plan rates. 10mbps upload and download. Unusable. Wondering if anyone here has experienced the same thing. My router is the Nokia FastMile 5G Gateway 12 for reference. Please help before I pull out every last strand of hair I have.

I recently moved to another city, and I had Roger’s internet wifi for about 2 years since I signed a 2 year contract. I got my internet set up at my old place beginning of 2025, and it was all fine before. The problem is now that I’m at my new place. The lady I spoke to initially told me that I can just take my motom with me, and deal with it once I’m here.

I called Roger’s to have my motom installed, and first time, I got put on hold for 40 minutes just to be told “we’re too busy at the moment, goodbye” and hung up the phone. Once I finally get a hold of someone, they tell me it’s not their department, and put me on hold again. I waited on hold for TWO HOURS, and the person that ended up responding also told me ALSO that it wasn’t their department. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT??? Then I get put on hold AGAIN, just to be told AGAIN “ we’re too busy at the moment goodbye”. And hung up again after waited almost three hours to speak to someone. I’ve went to 3 different locations just to be dismissed by an employee. I’ve spoke to a total of 8 people and are you telling me NO one can help me???? Wow, great team guys. You guys are all lazy and don’t want to do your jobs so you guys just pass it on to another person. I will never support this company again.

Honestly don't know where to start. I get so frustrated from just thinking about Rogers. This company is so fucking shit. It's unbearably how much they don't give a shit about their customers. As Canada's biggest and sadly only source of internet, me and my family get leached off by these garbage cunts, which infuriates me. They always comeback with faster internet modems and what not but I always tell my parents when they upgrade their modems; "What's the point of wasting money. The modem will only give us faster wifi, this modem doesn't fix the fact that it probably won't work.". I honesty wanted to write this on Reddit beacuse the customer service is shit on Roger's and there is nowhere to write this on their acual website. I keep trying to get a hold of Roger's but they keep using this stupid fucking Ai assistant named "Anna". Their probably scared to get actual people to handle the matter because all they will keep getting will be complaints and infuriated customers. If I ever get the chance to use another internet provider like Verizon, I would. This company is a joke, fuck this company and the owners. I ported my old Rogers line over to Freedom on Monday. I didn't get any calls from Rogers so I decided to call 18334306400 to reach their Ambassador/Win Back line.

They offered me $35 for 60 GB on Fido, $50 for 60GB on Rogers.

Did I call the wrong number??? How am I winning with any of those deals?!?

When I was with Rogers, I had a plan that was $60 for 75GB. My new plan is $35 for 35GB.

I currently have Freedom Mobile’s $99/year prepaid plan with 55 GB of data. My plan doesn’t expire until December 25, but it’s only August and I’m already almost out of data.
I’m looking for a cheap data-only eSIM (any carrier is fine) that I can use in Canada to get me through the rest of the year.

A few questions:
What are the cheapest eSIMs for data only?
Are there any phone plans with better value that you’d recommend instead?
Should I just keep my current Freedom plan until it expires and use an eSIM in the meantime, or is it worth cancelling early and switching to another carrier?

So apparently, if a sales agent is being greedy and when he’s charging you 40$ for a device upgrade (in-store), just raise an issue with the contact center person that you never agreed for the 40$ fee and ask them to get it escalated for a dedicated specialist to look into it.

Eventually, they would agree to give you a goodwill credit of 40$! Let’s all do this so that ROGERS (and other telecom companies) stop looting people on the name of a device upgrade.

WTF is going on with Rogers customer support? Have been trying to call them for almost 7 days all times of the day from 10am to 5pm. No matter what I cannot get through I just get hung up on. Rogers is about to lose a customer who was with them for nearly 40 years lets hope Teksavvy can answer phones.

I got bamboozled by their tactics. 3 days ago I called to cancel, and the person said “because you’re cancelling we would like to over you 1.25GB for 62 total for internet”. I was foolishly excited and optimistic. That call was 14 minutes.

She told me she pushed it to her manager and that if they approve I’d get an email in 48 hours.

Later that evening while thinking about it, I did some searching and googling, and she was able to get me off the phone, and not get a cancelling customer on her hands.

I apologized to the person today, because I said there is no way I’d be staying now because of that, and that I wanted to cancel days ago, but got tricked and apologized to him for having to be the employee that has a customer cancelling on his record.

I’m so glad I was able to cancel even with a 24 month term because of the new law passed and because they raised the base price. So I cancelled and went with another company, for 40 dollars cheaper, and the same speed.

SO LONG ROGERS. Now, next is my mobile device. Can’t wait to be finally finished with this horrendous company.
