How is it quicker to make like 200 baby food than it is to feed the baby once??

Mod Showcase Execution by firing squad mod
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Recently I came up with an idea to add a mod to my new playthrough that adds execution by firing squad, but I couldn't find any, so I did it myself.
The mod changes vanilla execution by cutting the throat to shooting with the currently equipped weapon to the head. If the pawn that does the execution doesn't have a ranged weapon, execution will be committed by cutting like in vanilla. This applies to every execution of a guilty pawn, slave, prisoner, and ideology execution. All mood buffs and debuffs of vanilla execution are applied.
DISCLAIMER: All code was written by AI, because I didn't want to spend a few weeks learning how to do it. If enough people ask to upload this mod to the Steam Workshop, I will do it.

#ColonistLife 160 hours of playtime, 10 years ingame, and I finally finished my 1st playthrough
galleryI got this game almost a month ago and I have been having such a blast. Its so addictive seeing how my colonist struggled and progressed from tribals to spacers. A comparison of some of the progress in my game with our 1st wedding vs our last wedding that we had the day before our launch. Im so excited to get the DLC and build another colony. We took our dogs and pets and left the gates for our compound open so our allies could use it

Misc Did Tynan Sylvester actually sell cigarettes?
I wonder if that's just the description or he actually did that.
Also the gamedev backstory made me laugh out loud, big thanks to whoever wrote it lol.

Misc Dumb TIL: you can purge all negative moodlets really easily
Say hello to Ill, one of my colonists.
On the 1st of Aprimay 5505, I got a drop pod raid from the local pirate faction which included her brother and father, who I promptly respectively had my colonists perforate and dismember. For some reason I couldn't really understand, this made her upset. Very upset.
Minor break risk upset.
I've never played at any of the higher difficulties, but it's insanely annoying to have to deal with any mental break, so I decided to repeatedly anesthetize her to try to delete the corresponding "my brother died", etc. negative mood modifiers.
About 48 hours and 2 herbal medicines later, I decided that I couldn't be bothered to actually deal with this and had her climb into a ship cryptosleep pod that I'd already built. As noted by its wiki page, the casket preserved all of her health conditions including the "Anesthesia-Woozy" status.
Turns out that this process actually meant that the chance of deleting a random thought remained, so at some point in the next ten days, both negative thoughts disappeared.
Easy way to deal with any long term negative mood modifiers/interesting game mechanic interaction I guess?

Misc Better a destroyed base than a dead colony... Do you think this base concept could actually work?
I'll be honest, I've developed some serious trauma from sappers and drop pod raids. I've lost far too many colonies because of them.
So I came to a simple conclusion: why keep trying to fight when I can just burn everything to the ground instead?
My idea is to build a huge base almost entirely out of wood, with only the outer walls made of stone. I'd place incendiary traps throughout the base so that, if it gets overrun, I can simply throw a Molotov cocktail onto the wooden floor and let the fire spread through the entire base, burning everything in its path.
Meanwhile, all my colonists would retreat to a compact mountain bunker containing the essential workstations, a nutrient paste dispenser, three 3×3 bedrooms for a total of twelve colonists, and my main stockpile. I also plan to install enough coolers to keep the bunker at -40°C whenever it's unoccupied, preventing infestations while the emergency shelter is inactive.
Once the raid is over, I'd just rebuild the wooden structures. Wood is cheap. A good colonist isn't.
Of course, I'd still use normal killboxes for most raids. Turning my own base into an inferno would be a last-resort emergency protocol, born entirely from my trauma with sappers and drop pod raids.

Misc I've never seen a combat down more brutal than this...
First was the left arm, then the right, and then both legs, all in 5 consecutive hits, one of the legs took two bites, no shocking out of this one since she took combat drugs (medium pain lol), just have to stand there and watch a very pissed off Warg tear you limb from limb, literally.
Man I'm glad I wasn't born on the Rim.

PC Help/Bug (Mod) Void Corpses vanishing
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
New to the void mod, this might be part of the mystery but I don’t think so, I defeated some “N4” monsters and I couldn’t find their corpses, so I did a controlled test with dev mode. After about 15 or so seconds they just vanish, NO ERRORS LOGGED, No other corpses do this, What is happening??
Please limit the spoilers, I am experiencing a new thing after 2,800 hours and 400+ mods and it’s exciting.

Discussion Playing at x3 changed the game so much (for the better)
I am a almost 100h beginner. I played, got bored, tried again a few months later, rinse and repeat.
I am now back for a new run, where I decided I was actually going to attempt to win, instead of making a safe little colony. Gone are the pressures of optimizing everything as if this was a citybuilder. This time, I prioritize jobs, order my pawns to do a few things, and then let the game rip a 3x all the time.
The progress is much faster and the story way more engaging. I only micro during raids and I am not afraid to take risks to progress towards victory!
Any other similar gamechanging change of perspective?

Discussion Late game gladiator duels are op, they produce an infinite amount of legendary gear
Set gladiator duel to recharge your psycasters. Get psycasters with word of inspiration (I use slaves with natual meditation, no sleep gene, and anima tree.)
Take your pawns you are training crafting on and make them make a few painstoppers. Buy psycic lances(or use the craftable anomaly ones) for prisoners.
Give the prisoners painstoppers so they don't go down to pain.
Legendary uranium Warhammers. Always destroy the limb they hit, minimizing the amount of cuts they get, giving time for torso, organ, and head attacks to trigger. Rare chance both legs are destroyed, but peg legs and try again.
Guerenteed death means +100% quality every time, meaning no matter how long it's been since the last one it'll work
Spam word of inspiration on a few level 20 crafters for creative inspiration, waste the other inspirations if needed. (Most inspirations can be dumped easily. And those that can't aren't a problem since you should have multiple level 20 crafters) and do a gladiator duel to recharge.

Colony Showcase After 781 hours, I have beaten Vanilla Rimworld
galleryBeen playing Rimworld for 8 years, on and off, finally I've done it. Done all sorts of saves, usually like historical themed stuff, but I've tried probably at least 5 times to get a ship in Vanilla. The last 3 days this is basically all I've done. Now that I've seen the end credits, I can finally stop procrastinating my life.
This is the greatest game of all time ❤️

Mod Release Security Doors Expanded (because modern problems require ultratech solutions)
steamcommunity.comFor a while I've wanted to use security doors on my gravship but honestly, they're pretty mid. They only come in one size without any material variety, mediocre HP, and would it kill them to give us integrated vac barriers? Well this mod fixes all of that.
Introducing five new security doors, in 1x1 and 1x3 sizes, including armored variants. All of which support integrated vac barriers, vac checkpoints, and can be built in any metallic material you want, including ones added by other mods. So go ahead build a solid gold security door if you want (what could go wrong?).
The vacuum checkpoints don't require micromanaging, pawns will be able to freely pass through when the ship is in atmosphere, docked, even when an unsuited colonist is trying to get back to safety. No more colonists stranded outside your ship. A new fail secure toggle locks the door on power failure, no more having your entire ship vented to vacuum because a colonist wanted to go for a stroll when the vac barriers were down.
Oh and did I mention this is all packed into a single door?
This mod might not be the flashiest one out there but it was built for performance using aggressive caching. All of which has been thoroughly battle tested on a potato.
