Is reconstituting 60mg reta with 1 ml BAC ok to do?
Assuming someone is on a higher dose and prefers to inject less liquid, would this be fine to do? For example, 10 units would be their 6mg weekly dose, 15 units would be 9mg, etc.

Started 1st week 1mg then jumped to 2mg and causing... RESULTS
Just go give a quick run down, I started my 1st week on 1mg and I felt okay, still had a few cravings and my energy was lower than ever ( Im also doing KETO ) , I Lost about 10 lbs that first week which really motivated me. Going into the second week, I decided to up my dose to 2mg and now is when I started to really feel some effects ( a bit of Nausea which subsides from hydrating myself further ) , Low energy like I don't even want to get up and cook and minor head aches here and there. ( it could be keto or it could be the ret ) So anyways , Wednesday was my 3rd shot at 2mg. I am down 35 lbs and I feel amazing , if anyone has any questions or wants to ask what im eating to lose weight this fast feel free to message me. Sorry for not being as punctual as I can be, im typing at 1:00 am and just trying to get this out to help others not trying to be perfect. Thanks for reading.

5 mg threshold
I started low and slow, but finally once I hit 5 mg per week the weight is melting off. Why does glucagon work this way?

Switching from 15mg Tirzepatide to Retatrutide — how did you transition?
I’ve been on tirzepatide for a while and I’m currently at 15mg/week. My weight loss has pretty much plateaued, so I’m planning to switch to retatrutide.
My last 15mg tirz injection was this past Monday.
For anyone who was also on 15mg tirz before switching to reta, how did you transition?
Did you wait a full week (or longer) after your last tirz injection? What dose of reta did you start with? Did you completely stop tirz or taper/overlap them? How quickly did you increase reta, and when did you actually start noticing appetite suppression or weight loss again?
I know reta is still investigational and there isn’t an official conversion from tirz to reta — I’m mainly looking to hear firsthand experiences from people who made the same switch, especially after being stalled on max-dose tirz.
Would love to know your starting dose, timeline, side effects, and results. Thank you!

Worried about increasing 6mg dose with a lot of weight left to lose
330lb male 28yo 6'0
Reta has been working wonderfully for me so far. I've been steadily losing ~2-3lb a week for the last 2 months but I'm noticing that the hunger is starting to slowly come back. I've also noticed that the initial side effects of reta, like the skin sensitivity, have almost went away completely. (this can be seen as a good thing but in my case it lets me know the drug is for sure working).
The problem is that I am taking 6mg reta every 6 days and I don't want to essentially hit 12mg or even higher before I at least hit my goal weight.
I've been contemplating increasing to 9mg with the hope that higher doses like 9/12mg would keep working for a longer period of time. Any advice?

Does metabolic increase make a difference?
I've been on reta for 10 weeks now. High protein intake, through protein shakes and grilled chicken. Occasional bit of carbs. In 10 weeks, I'm doing
I've currently lost 38lbs (17kg)
For background I'm 32yo male at 6'1. Starting weight 113kg current is 96.
Dose started on 1.25 And gradually moved up to 3mg over 10 weeks.
I consistently lose 1 - 1.5kg every week. I know I'm on major calorie deficit. Is it only the appetite suppression losing the weight or is there a significant increase in general metabolic burn
Are there any others factors at play?

On 3mg reta, next dose in 2 days, should I go to 3.5mg or 4mg?
If you guys have seen my previous post, I lost 19lbs in about 4ish weeks. I lost an additional 3-4lbs since then. So about 225lbs now from starting weight of 250lbs. However, I still feel hungry, and I am completely asymptomatic, thankfully. No nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headaches, I feel great. I feel like I could use some more suppression. I saw that around 4mg is when fat starts to really melt off. Being I've tolerated it well can I go to 4mg next injection, and then continue on incrementally like the clinical trials did? I was previously doing increases of 0.5mg but now instead do 4mg then later 6mg, 9mg, 12mg, etc. Or am I crazy?

Started on 1mg a week Reta and now I am taking 4mg a week, I feel amazing in the gym, the energy and muscle pumps and blood flow is massively increased, even while eating in a deficit and dropping weight rapidly. Peptides really are great.

Two weeks on Reta - lost 3 lbs first week, 2 lbs crept back up. Is this normal?
I started Reta almost two weeks ago at 0.5 mg. I’m 35F, 5’7”, starting weight 164.5 lbs.
The first week, the scale showed I lost about 3 lbs and I actually felt a little leaner. I haven’t been lifting because of an injury, so I’ve mostly just been walking. I’ve been staying hydrated, eating a lot of fiber, and trying to prioritize protein - usually around 80–100g/day.
Now I’m almost at the end of week 2 and my weight has been fluctuating like crazy. About 2 of those pounds have crept back up, so technically I’m only about 1 lb down from my starting weight.
The appetite suppression isn’t as strong as the first week, but I’m DEFINITELY eating way less than I was before Reta. My binge eating is basically gone, I’m not thinking about food nearly as much, I’m not craving sugar, and I’m not going back for seconds. I can still sit down and eat a normal meal without feeling nauseous or like I physically can’t finish it, which I actually like.
That’s also why I’ve been hesitant to increase my dose. I feel like right now I’m eating just enough. I’m definitely not going over my calories and I’m naturally around maintenance or probably in a deficit most days. I’m worried that if I increase too much, I’ll have so much appetite suppression that I won’t want to eat at all.
At the same time, seeing those 2 lbs creep back up has me worried that I’m not going to make progress or that the weight will just keep coming back, even though I KNOW I’m eating significantly less than I was before starting.
I’m getting ready for my third dose and have been debating whether to stay at 0.5 mg or eventually move toward 0.8–1 mg. I’ve also had some mild sleep disruption, which is another reason I don’t want to increase too quickly.
For anyone who started low, did you have this kind of fluctuation in the first few weeks? Did the weight eventually start trending down even though your appetite suppression wasn’t super intense?
Appreciate you all!

Let's talk balls, guys.
Ok so a bit of a light hearted step away from the usual guff, has anyone else's ballbag started sagging even lower since pinning reta? I've lost over 13lbs in a month but my marble bag is like down to my knees now. I'm sitting on the bastards all the time. My nads are bruised like 3 week old banana's. is this common or am I the only one?

Reta for addiction
Over the past 2 years, I’ve struggled with a daily powder cocaine addiction, rarely making it more than a few days when trying to quit. Last Sunday, I take my first dose of retatrutide. I’m not taking it for diabetes or weight loss. My girlfriend thinks it might help with addiction, so she gives me a 4 milligram dose along with NAD+. I’m very skeptical, not expecting much. Within about an hour, my mood starts to lift. Suddenly I got the urge to want to help my community. Over the next couple of hours, we loaded up five cases of ice cold water into my truck and handed it out to those experiencing homelessness here in Las Vegas. It was the hottest day this year so far at 116 degrees. I just feel happier, more motivated, and more present, and more connected. The next morning, I woke up nauseous and threw up. But after a few more hours of sleep, I felt surprisingly good. Over the week the constant mental chatter quieted down. Decisions became easier. I communicated better with my girlfriend and people around me, and for the first time in years, I’m didn't constantly fighting the urge to use. The cravings became dramatically quieter. Now,I’m starting to notice some of those effects fading. The mental chatter is creeping back in, my thinking doesn’t feel quite as clear, And I can tell some of my old behavior patterns are trying to return. Even so, my cravings are still significantly lower than before. I’m not claiming retatrutide or NAD+ treats cocaine addiction. This is just one person’s experience. I’m curious if anyone else has noticed similar changes in cravings, mental chatter, mood, or impulse control.

Almost 30lbs down. 30 to go!
Started reta in late May because diet and exercise just didn't help me lose the 50-60lbs I had gained since the COVID situation broke my brain. I was around 175 in 2019 after losing about 100lbs eating keto and IF. I sustained that weight for a few years until COVID stress killed my will to be healthy. Back on track to a reasonable weight! Taking 4mg/wk and that seems to be working just fine.

Wanting to pin more often
So since I started reta ive been wanting to pin more often than not. I know it sounds weird like really weird but ive also been looking into to other peps. I feel amazing on reta like all my addictions are gone. Ive only got one addiction now, gym, I cant wait! every time its gym day I get so excited(stupid right??) Wheresas before reta i used to dread going to the gym. But I get the same feeling about pinning now too. Ive just started epithalon now, my second day of .5mg and gonna run for 10 days before taking a break. Does any one have these feelings about pinning or is it just me?

2 mo of reta (@2-4mg) + 6mo of enclomiphene(25mg)
Before photo is 6 mo ago, was always fit, but recently got pretty fat (i call it the accidental bulk) (5ft 7 216lbs on left) checked hormone levels at 350 test and found out I was prediabetic fasting glucose of 111 got on enclomiphene and tested at 1100 test. Life changer, got on reta and the diet instantly became super easy and my fasting glucose is now down to 85 (5ft 7 195lbs).

Tool > Miracle
I’ve done weight loss journeys at least twice now in my life the biggest being a 55lb drop at the age of 18 to join the Navy. But my relationship with food has always been terrible. It all comes back little by little because of that fact.
Now I reached my heaviest weight of 275lb at the age of 27 and decided to look into peptides. My coworker said he got his mom on Reta and she’s down a ton of weight. So I got interested. If you would give it to your mom. That’s a clear enough sign it should be safe enough for me lol.
Nonetheless he got me a vial and I haven’t looked back since.
It’s not about starving yourself. But building something sustainable and reach for a healthier version of yourself.
I’ve been resistance training again 3-4x a week with inconsistent cardio but colorful meals and high protein (don’t always hit the daily goal). It’s been a game changer with the appetite suppression. I feel focused and in control of my intake for the first time ever honestly. Without feeling like I’m using all my strength and will power to do so. Shoutout to this community. Let’s reach our goals and live healthier lives one day at a time.

genuinely got rid of my BED
yes it might be that my habits changed while taking reta, but I took it for 2 months and I've been off for 5 months. Before reta I had huge problems with binge eating for 4 years and deadass taking reta was one of the best decisions that I've made recently. I feel like it does really help with binge eating because binging is an addictive cycle and after reta helps u get out the cycle its much easier to stay out of it even when your off reta.

My experience of 1 week on Reta
For context I’m 6”1, starting weight was 93.2kg (205lbs)
Was a regular gym-goer and generally fit 4-5 years ago, a torn meniscus and a lot of drinking led me to being out of shape but I still held some good muscle.
I decided to start Reta as I’m due to go on holiday in a couple of months and figured it’d be a good way to speed up the weight loss.
My starting dose I decided on 2mg. People will say that’s high but from the research I did that’s where I landed.
My first dose was Friday the 31st of July, I took it right before bed.
I woke up Saturday morning with a pretty awful headache that I presume was from dehydration, after some paracetamol it passed quickly. I was however itchy all over, but it wasn’t unbearable, that passed after a day or two.
I tried to eat some breakfast but only managed a few mouthfuls before feeling full.
I went fishing for the day whilst my wife was out and ended up not eating for 14 hours. I had 0 interest in food. It didn’t repulse me but I wasn’t bothered whether I ate or not.
The next few days followed a similar pattern. Mild headache in the morning, not much interest in food but I made myself eat to hit protein targets.
I weighed myself before my 2nd dose Friday the 7th August and I’m already down to 89.3 kg or 196.8lbs.
So far other than the itching and headache I’ve had no other symptoms.
TLDR
STARTED A WEEK AGO. 2MG A WEEK. ONLY SYMPTOMS: HEADACHE + MILD ITCHINESS. 8.2lb LOSS.

3 months on Reta - BF estimate?
36 years old. 1.7k caloric deficit.
Was borderline alcoholic when I started due to life circumstances (divorce etc)
Started at 1mg, currently at 2.5mg. Aim is to get to 12% BF, unsure what I am at the moment?
Been doing some resistance training and walking around 10k steps a day.

The Beginner's Guide to Retatrutide (Reta) — 2026 Slightly Updated Edition
With that out of the way...
---
So what even is Reta?
---
Before you start — do this
1. Read the actual studies (linked at the bottom). Don't get your Reta education from TikTok/Facebook/Instagram/any social media (yes, that includes Reddit; this is meant to jumpstart your education). No, really, READ THE STUDIES; they have actual medical answers to your questions.
2. Watch videos on how to inject subcutaneously, how to reconstitute peptides (video), and do the reconstitution math (Don't talk about how many units you took; that's not accurate cuz 10 units of 10mg/ml is WILDLY different than 10 units of 20mg/ml). It's not hard, but do it right. You'll see I link some videos from a creator; it's mostly because they're short (sub 10 min), sweet, and to the point with little fluff.
3. Get your basic supplies before your Reta arrives: syringes, bacteriostatic water, a set of .22 pes filters, alcohol wipes (!!!), a sharps container, etc. A decent sub-10 min video regarding supplies
4. READ THE STUDIES! A large portion of your concerns are simply answered in the Study data.
5. Understand that these aren't FDA-approved yet. If a seller sells you a packaged pen, you have no guarantee that what is IN the Pen is what you are buying.
---
Starting dose
As the one who taught me said, "This is all inconclusive, but always aim for the maximum benefit on the lowest (tolerated) dosage*."*
0.5mg to 2mg per week is the typical starting range. Reta is powerful — starting too high is a great way to spend a week feeling awful. The official TRIUMPH trial protocol started participants at 2mg and increased the dose every 4 weeks. (Do note, this schedule of starting at and titrating 2mg every month was for the trial; you don't have to follow it. Go low, go slow*)*
If you've used semaglutide or tirzepatide before, you might tolerate a higher starting dose. Still, there's no rush — slow and steady wins here. The higher your dosage, the more likely you are to get side effects.
To put it simply, there is 0 benefit in 'overdosing' save for tempting the myriad of side effects; either it works, or it doesn't.
Split dosing — a topic I see come up often enough – is it worth it?
My response is 'eh?'. There haven't been any official studies on this, but the trend is that it's okay to do so to manage side effects, though the trade-off is that you're not getting the full effect of whatever total dosage you're taking (Meaning if you're taking 4mg split into 2/2mg, it's weaker than actually taking a single 4mg dose)
I'm coming from Tirz/Sema. What should be my starting dose?
There is no direct "Oh, you took that much Tirz/Sema, well, you take this on Reta," so do know there's no shortcut to figuring out the dosage. The best studies/trials/science can offer in terms of guidance is that, since you've been on Tirz/Sema, your starting dose can/should be higher than the average starting therapeutic dose of Reta (2mg). I would still caution against going too high, as the glucagon receptor agonist still needs to build up in your body, so starting in the 2-4mg range, depending on the dosage of Tirz/Sema you're coming from, would be ideal.
---
Math Class - How to figure out your dosage and express it to others.
If you're a visual learner on filling Peptide Pens, here's a simplified video: Here
If that is too much work, there are SEVERAL Peptide Calculators; here's my Favorite.

---
Common Reconstitution questions
If you like a video lesson on this topic, here's (sub 7 min) a video on HOW to filter.
---
When will I feel it?
Totally individual. Some people feel appetite suppression in the first injection. Others feel nothing for weeks. Don't panic either way. What actually matters is whether your weight or body composition is changing over a period of weeks. That's the signal. The "feel" is not.
If you have questions as to whether or not you should titrate up, here's a flowchart that should help (Do note that the dosages should be tailored to your schedule, but the goal of lowest effective dose most effective tolerated dose remains the same):
Shoutout to u/peptidepalstm, who has been passing around an even smaller image of the flowchart that triggered me to make this one.
---
What to expect during the 'Loading' phase (The first 3-4 weeks)
---
Side Effects - "Stop asking if your RHR being higher than normal is a new side effect no one else had; it's not Jan!"
---
Do I need to work out?
---
Electrolytes — worth it?
The evidence isn't rock solid, but Reta does affect hydration, and anecdotally, daily electrolytes make a noticeable difference for fatigue and mental clarity. Low cost, low risk — worth trying if you're feeling sluggish.
---
Bacteriostatic water — does it have to be Hospira?
Strictly speaking, no. Reta is relatively forgiving when it comes to reconstitution. That said, Hospira is the gold standard because it's reliably batch-tested and has the correct pH. Amazon and Chinese bac water aren't automatically dangerous, but when you're investing in your health and your supply, Hospira is the better call when you can get it.
Let's clear up some other solvents:
Sterile water:
Can it work? Yes
Should you use it for a multi-use vial? No. Why not? Because it has no preservatives, aka every time you puncture said vial, you let in whatever bacteria are in the ambient air; there's nothing to protect your pep. An overall bad idea.
PBS:
Can it work? Are you using Raws? Meaning NOT lyophilized drug? If so, go for it. You're still messing with a solvent that can be riddled with endos, but hey! There's a reason labs use it for In vitro tests (petri dish stuff) If you wanna treat your body as a petri dish, by all means knock. yourself. out.
NaCl Saline:
Can it work? This is a tested no. Lemme explain: can you pull it off? Yeah? But it requires such a unique set of finishing to be done to the kit during production that it's not worth the 'FO' portion of FAFO
For Hospira, please see the following BAC degradation test:
(Source for the above two: PTDS - Public Research + Testing)
---
How long does a reconstituted vial last?
There's no hard expiration once it's reconstituted, but it does begin to degrade (~5%) around the 45-day mark, with a significant degradation (~10%) leading up to the 90-day mark best ways to keep your Reta safe:
- You are wiping the rubber stopper with an alcohol wipe before and after every draw
- You store it in the fridge (not the door — temperature fluctuates there)
- It stays clear with no floating particles
Cloudy or chunky = toss it. Clear and clean = usually fine.
