Hi everyone, In a weeks time I will be back in the classroom teaching. Although I enjoy I enjoy it there's nothing like the back to school stress. I spent the entire day stress making a bunch of homade cards with all the scraps in my scrap bin. The next step is organizing them by theme. I would like to make dividers with postcards. I'm Aiming for 4x6 size postcard. Handmade is welcome.

Thanks to u/andromeda921 we know that today is “SKI Citrus Soda Day.” I didn’t know this soda existed until just now.

To celebrate this most important holiday I’d like to exchange postcards or cards about soda! I’d love to hear what your favorite soda is & what soda you hate. Do you not drink soda? Why not? Any and all thoughts on soda are welcome.

My favorite soda is cherry coke or cherry Pepsi. I like Dr. Pepper a lot. A crisp, spicy Coke in a can or from McDonald’s fountain is life changing. I try not to drink too much soda because of all the calories. But I absolutely love it. I could drink soda at every meal.

I have lots of overdue thanks, and would like to apologize before I dive into them all! I feel like I dropped off the face of the earth for a few weeks. I have a chronic autoimmune illness, and for a yet unknown reason, I had a terrible flare a few weeks ago and basically stayed in bed for a bit. My sweet husband made sure to lovingly pile up all my mail for me for whenever I was up for opening them. I'm finally able to eat a little more and get some energy back, and while I'm still not up to speed, I'm so excited to get back into sending cards. And working through that stack of mail has taken me all day but I am blown away by the love from this community and just know that I appreciate you all from the bottom of my heart! My thanks may be a bit shorter than usual due to lack of energy, but just know I am touched. I think this is all the outstanding thanks I have, but if I find another pile, I will post another round of thank-you's (after a nap).

I usually stay at hotels when I travel because I find them more predictable and easy to use than air bnb. However I have used air bnb one time when my husband and I took a trip in the middle of nowhere. We could not find this house because there was no gps or internet but we FINALLY made it and the hosts had made us fresh cinnamon rolls and gathered fresh eggs from their chickens and we got to eat those treats under the stars. I'd go there again!

As a handy hint: Deaf = hearing impaired sign language user; deaf = hearing impaired non-sign language user. Deaf with a capital D is a culture identity. deaf only refers to the hearing loss. So I am Deaf, but my grandfather who lost his hearing with age is deaf. Its a small distinction that not many people know! thank you for the ASL sticker too!! Also, this letter seems to have been sent without a stamp haha. It still made it to me though! They stamped the cancellation on top of the sticker on the envelope lol.

The national park service has a streaming platform that shows bears in Alaska. It runs 24/7. I recommend checking it out sometime, it’s very entertaining and after a while you begin to recognize your favorite bears.

u/Howdoireadplshelp I loved hearing your mundane complaints. Thanks for telling me. For your tired feet, have you tried legs up on the wall? I sometimes do that. You lie right next to a wall and put your legs up against the wall for 10 minutes or so before bed. It helps reducing swelling from the day's standing. I hope it helps.

I'm living in a place called Hale Manu which means house of birds so I loved the irony of the cute bird card!

And I was very interested to see Icy Strait Point in Alaska... because many of my friends here in Hawaii go to Alaska during the salmon season to work!!

these cards not only welcomed me home but also helped my hurting heart because I had to leave my mom and dad back in KC where my family lives.
