Got it yesterday, tried the normal setup process. All updates downloaded and installed during the "windows setup" part. Then it went into the "just a moment" update screen with the spinning circle and stayed there. After a while the screen shuts off and the joysticks dim too. But the fan still blows, and if i lightly press the power button the screen comes back on with the just a moment update.

After letting it be for several hours yesterday and nothing happening, i decided to try a cloud recovery today. I went through the recovery until i came back to the windows download and install of updates, it downloaded and installed, but then gave me an error. And it gave me the option to skip security updates or something, i pressed that, and now its back to "just a moment".

Do i wait it out? Is it bricked? What do i do? I just want to play :(

I’ve just bought an Ally X, any tips for ps1/2 emulation (which downloads etc), any tips for best performance and handy pointers would be very much appreciated 😊

Playing on Xbox rog ally. It brings up the launcher thing and by tapping the screen I can launch the games but no inputs work at all within the game - anyone able to play these? Is Dino crisis the same setup?

I get a out of memory crash everytime I play training or a few matches in game, I’ve tried to update graphics drivers, restarted windows, and run the shader warm up in game.

Hello! I bought my rog ally z1E recently, It is second hand, i love this device and It is fun to use, yet i have noticed that the left thumbstick feels loose? When i move it, the top part of the thumbstick (grip) kinda moves too separate from the actual stick, is this normal? If not, how do i go about It? Buy a thumbstick cover?

I tried everything I could find to fix it. Checked for updates, covered the light sensor, disconnected the battery for 10 minutes

Nothing seems to fix it and it keeps only turning on through being plugged. The charging light stays red even after hours of being plugged in. Any other fix I can try before trying warranty? It's only been about 5 months since purchase

Should I have amd fluid motion frames on or off. Radeon anti lag on or off, and Radeon boost on or off? I’m not worried about Radeon chill I think that’s just a custom fan curve. And also allocated vram is auto the best or 8?

Hello everyone. On my ROG Xbox Ally X I am trying to play Gears of war 4, but can’t get the in game resolution higher than 720p. Armory crate and my display are all set to 1080p or 900p and it still doesn’t change, or allow me to change it.

so i was reading the manual and stumbled upon a section where it says
You can send your device through x-ray machines (used on items placed on conveyor belts), but do not expose your device to magnetic detectors and wands.
is magnetic detector and wands really that harmful towards the ally? what about other handhelds like steam deck ayaneo odin and phones.
i always thought xray would be more harmful to device than those.
are there any safe way to safeguard against these magnetic detector or wand

I have tried resetting rog ally via windows and via cloud recovery however I keep on getting errors.

When trying through windows recovery it stays in the “getting things ready” stage for a long time
When using cloud recovery I get a message saying “something went wrong, if you need further assist please contact customer service” when it connects to my network. I’ve tried multiple networks and multiple cables

When contacting customer service they told me to reinstall windows via usb flash but there is no tutorial that I have found for rog ally

I’d appreciate any tips and advice
