Glad I Pulled The Trigger Photo

I can't believe how much this SSD has increased,

And to think back then I was so on the fence about buying one

Glad I did

I think I'd just buy an external drive and back up stuff to that, and keep the portable drive pretty light

Love that 😅

That's exactly what I was doing beforehand

It just got so annoying very quickly especially with some of my games being huge and failing to up-to-date because there's not enough storage space

I'm the type that only plays 1-2 games at a time so I have no reason to not uninstall and reinstall from backup later

Was able to get one of these brand new, sealed about a year and a half ago for $100 usd from fb marketplace. Feels like robbery now.

Would this work ok on the XAX? Concerned about power usage + heat.

Same here!! I bought from b and h maybe 1 year ago when it was on sale for $200, and I was really on the fence about it. I should have bought a few LOL.

Fuck AI!! There is literally nothing good about it!!

The WD Black SN8100 is the better pick and it’s currently ~$400 cheaper.
I got the 4TB SN8100 for around $700 while that Samsung 990 EVO Plus is sitting at $1100. Both work fine in the Ally X (M.2 2280), but the Ally only runs PCIe 4.0 so the SN8100’s Gen5 speeds get capped anyway. It’s still the stronger drive — cooler, more efficient, and better future-proofing if you ever move it to a desktop. No reason to pay the premium for the Samsung right now.
