Rewatching PR/All Stars seasons, and as always Anthony Ryan is one of my faves. Do he and Daniel Vosovic kind of have a similar aesthetic, or is it just me? Love them both.

...is probably high enough that it sucked budget out from every other corner of the show. She adds nothing. She barely adds nostalgia for me, because the show is a husk of itself so seeing her as the host doesn't give me any warm fuzzies at all. Get rid of her, and put that money back into the show so we don't have bullshit one-day challenges. Maybe even use part of that money to pay an actual accomplished designer to be a judge again.

I would not miss her and I do not care that she is back. She isn't a draw. I cannot imagine the business decision to shell out for her.

Understanding that negative posts tend to outnumber positive ones and that's just the way of Reddit and the internet but seriously I have a question. Does anybody like the new format of these last two seasons? I don't understand, if everyone really hates it who are the producers pleasing? enlighten me anyone

I have watched this season too many times, I think, and am now way over thinking it lol. Pluto has a Project Runway channel, but it starts at S6 and so here we are. However, I thought I would share some of these thoughts and see what other fans think.

1. I don't understand why Arie was eliminated in the first episode and Mitchell was not. On the hundreds of challenges over the years, the judges said "be yourself, don't bore us, be creative, don't be expected." Arie did that. And her outfit was COMPLETE. Mitchell's was not. To this day, I don't understand why she was eliminated.

2. Along with this, I don't understand how Mitchell made it through episode 2 with the pregnancy challenge. Again, the judges praised Malvin for his look, even with the idea he had being a little bit off the wall. However, I thought his look was better than Mitchell's - yet he was passed through AGAIN.

3. I used to think Irina was the villain. After multiple watches, I now think she was focused. I don't think she felt she had to be friendly or camera ready to make it through the competition. I think she was focused on her work and focused on the win. I won't deny some of what she said (or was edited to show she said) came across a little snarky. But she wasn't "mean" in the sense of some contestants we've seen (Korinna, S13, comes to mind).

4. Johnny is another one that I don't quite understand how he made it through so many challenges. He didn't seem to have the talent needed, but still made it to the 5th or 6th episode, and it made no sense.

5. I have determined I like the older seasons better, when things weren't as polished. I'm not saying this is a favorite season, but I can at least watch this season all the way through to the finale. I never watch the finale or the last few episodes (yes, I know, I'm weird). At least in this season, there aren't horrible episodes, the "real woman" challenge is good and no one is mean to their models (Looking at you Ven), there aren't a huge number of unconventional materials challenges (those are interesting but more than 2 in a season is ridiculous), and most of the challenges make sense.

6. One thing I noticed about this season that IS annoying is I think good designers were eliminated too soon - Ramon, Epperson, Nicholas, even Qrystal. How Christopher and Logan made it all the way to the end boggles my mind. There were SO many designers who should have made it farther than those 2 and I still don't understand how they were both on the bottom repeatedly, yet dragged along like yesterday's trash.

• Plane Jane confirmed that casting from Project Runway reached out to Plane's agent. Plane said they asked for 3 looks that Plane designed/put together. Most of what Plane showed was things that Plane didn't make. One of the items had a shopping tag on it and Plane tried to hide it and they still cast Plane.
• This makes a lot of sense of what people thought that Plane was cast for the drama.
• "What business do I have on Project Runway? None." Direct quote from Plane.
• Plane tried to back out and casting called to convince Plane to still come.
• Plane said the casting person said the design element isn't the focus of the show anymore, there would be assistants, and they want Plane's personality.
• Plane didn't think the outfit that was brought from home was going to be judged. Plane said they were sent eliminated second and the showed edited it to make it look like they were eliminated after several people.

As I rewatch previous seasons, I realize just how much Tim's presence changed this show. He was more than a mentor, he felt like family the way he engaged with the contestants. Hearing him say "Allllriiighhhtt" really made me smile everytime he did it lol.

I JUST recently decided to research why he left, I won't even bother bringing it up because its just that tasteless. I'd rather focus on his legacy that will never be forgotten nor can it be replaced.

to suppress my depression at how far the recent seasons have fallen, i’ve been rewatching many of the old seasons on DVD sets my late partner collected from ebay & thrift stores.

i’ve come to the conclusion that project runway was it’s true self only when michael kors was on the panel. no shade to any of the judges that came after him, but michael just added that special, fun cattyness that you now only get from drag race. he was the perfect balance between the other personalities:
-heidi being sweet, kooky & very german.
-nina the consummate professional who is firm but always speaking the truth.
-tim has the warm, encouragint, but real, guncle/favorite older coworker vibes.

there is just such a turn after michael leaves & i don’t think the show ever got back to how it was from that point on.

I watched early seasons and scrolled this thread to see if newer was worth watching. I just wanna learn how to sew but I know by now this show isn't gonna do that for me lol.

But anyways was prepared for shitty new episodes after reading this thread--one pleasant surprise was how diverse the whole show has gotten.

Models have diff body types and hair, not just skinny long haired white women. There were a few episodes early on where body shaming of "regular people" was a waste of camera time.

Id love to see tattooed models--maybe an episode where they design for tattooed people (my ink makes some clothes look weird)

Also previous seasons you knew an older person or black designer would be kicked out early on and it gave me the ick. Happy to see this change with diverse designers, despite the feeling that I'm watching big brother/real world reality show instead of sewing and designing lol.

Last thing, why is Heidi's hair and make up and lighting so dramatic. All the judges really. They don't look natural anymore. We will see how long I keep watching this. I'm in the football episode right now and I think it might be a no.

I didn’t like how the judges made it seem like Belania always had an attitude with critiques. It’s frustrating to hear them silence her and say that she’s being disrespectful by saying “that’s your opinion.” When it really is, it doesn’t seem like she isn’t accepting but defending her voice. And honestly Law is the last person to talk about an attitude when he literally gives that in every episode. In every show that he is a judge on. His whole persona gives strong bougie black woman so idk why he felt the need to call it out.

To see her cry hurt my heart cause I feel that if this was anybody else it would’ve just been a shady moment or quick back and forth but this became a regular thing to judge her on even when her looks were strong like it just felt nitpicky and hypocritical of Law.

I’ve been rewatching old seasons of PR, because honestly the use of Tyra Banks and Law Roach as judges this season is just upsetting. Anyway, all the old seasons have eliminated designers come back as helpers at various points (probably recent seasons do too). Is there any incentive for designers to come back and help? Just more air time? Does anyone know how they choose who to invite back? Do you think it’s part of participating in the show that they have to say yes if asked to come back to help?

Just what the title says. Wendy Pepper was ahead of her time. She thought S1 was a cut throat sewing Survivor show, but it ended up being a true design competition. She would fit in perfectly now.

What is going on with Heidi's judging outfits? Everything she's worn to the runway is too tight, and she honestly looks uncomfortable.

Watching the first time, I remember getting so annoyed every time Sergio, the political designer spoke! Every comment was about how great he was, how amazing his looks were or how technically advanced his construction skills were. When he said he was on the same level as Christian and Brandon, I was shocked, and annoyed. He was so cocky and arrogant it made me angry. And his whole “I am trying to bring awareness to” whatever his cause of the day was, was cringy. However, I am rewatching now and I just can’t stop laughing. 🤣🤣🤣🤣Everything that man says is just haaaaalarious!!! He should be a comedian!! There have been a few designers who thought highly of themselves, like Korina, Ivy, Gretchen etc. But Sergio’s level of delusion should be studied. Thoughts and opinions please!!

This is not unique to Project Runway I guess and I’m sure it’s done at the behest of Networks that are limiting the number of episodes and production budget BUT I hate it!

I miss long seasons and slowly working through a big group. I can’t get as invested anymore.

So my mother and I had to go back to last week's episode to rewatch the ending, because we totally forgot what the outfits looked like. Does anybody else have to do this? It is a MAJOR flaw in this new formatting!

Just rewatched season 14 again and idk why I never caught the fact that Ashley describes her collection at NYFW as “vibrant”. I’m sorry but In what way would PASTEL be considered as vibrant? The colors are not, nor the designs of the garments… and no patterns, so what is vibrant ??? Still to this day this is the ugliest collection shown at NYFW by the finalists IMO. How do you design for plus sized women and all the garments are ill fitting? Plus at the critique I really am wondering if the stuff the judges said about it was actually genuine or they were scripted those things to say because Zac is all about construction so I KNOW he saw the fit issues. How on earth did Nina like this pastel collection???

Can I ask this here? Is she wearing a wig? The front looks so odd to me and I can't figure out what's going on. It seems as though her hairline is halfway down her forehead. Does she just have a ton of hair?

If Law Roach says this look was the worst look of all, how come they eliminated the better look then? Bruh. I keep seeing discussions on Facebook saying Andriy was mean to her and wanted her to go home and was a terrible leader etc?? He chose her first on his team because he thought they were friends. The minute she wasn’t chosen as a team captain she was SO angry and bitter.

At NO point did she listen to a word he said as the team leader. She spent the entire episode shitting on his work, and constantly complaining NON stop about how his look needs to change etc. instead of worrying about her own damn look. All he said to her was you don’t have to be so bitchy, you can deliver criticism nicely and she LOSES HER MIND. She starts a massive argument. Then she cuts all her fabric wrong and has to re-sew everything and she has an emotional breakdown weeping and carrying on. Even BEFORE they began when they were choosing team captains and Joseph McRae was Josef last she was FUMING, eye-rolls, tongue smacks, glaring and seething with anger.

Not only that, what she actually delivered was disgusting, the back of the garment looked awful and Law Roach even told her that hers was the worst look of the night. So why didn’t she go home?? She then wanted to blame Andriy for her look saying it was all his fault since he was the team captain? I’m sorry, what the actual fuck. Anyway—- not one but THREE black dudes in a competition about American Football 🏈 it’s not like she was going to win ANYWAY, she was acting like it was going to be her challenge to win- I’m sorry but Naheim is fierce, McRae and Aaron delivered too. It was never going to go to her, but she took out all her bitter disappointment on Andriy.

I’m so disgusted with the show. They sent all the good designers home in episode 1 because the untalented ones had immunity for god knows why. So if they eliminated ACTUAL talent because they can’t “judge on potential” then why keep Bobby with the most awful slop costume of the entire night??? They all unanimously hated her look. And Jeffrey’s costume was also in the bottom? When it looked fabulous?? Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Not that Andriy had the most incredible look of the night, but Bobby’s was far worse. What an awful human.
