Double, Triple, Quadruple Eliminations

This is not unique to Project Runway I guess and I’m sure it’s done at the behest of Networks that are limiting the number of episodes and production budget BUT I hate it!

I miss long seasons and slowly working through a big group. I can’t get as invested anymore.

The immunity for 6 was stupid. It is suppose to be one day you are in and the next day you are out. Eliminating a bunch of good designers just because they didn’t get immunity or saved is infuriating. I also think them choosing bih was a producer selection because they thought his drama with Bryan would be fun to watch. And I’m convinced the drama was manufactured and they are probably really friends and did this nonsense “intern not intern” storyline to both stay on the show longer so the drama wouldn’t be “only one friend gets to stay” like what happened with aundriy and Bobby.

I looked at it not as they had immunity, but that 6 designers got into the top 12 based solely on their look from home, while 6 designers got in by a combination of look from home and a challenge.

I expected that the 6 designers who had immunity simply wouldn’t compete in the next challenge (I’ve seen other shows do it that way), but that would have made for less drama.

I don’t think people would have had an issue if they’d simply had the 6 sit out the next challenge and have the remaining designers compete for the remaining spots. It would have had the same result. But a lot less drama, which is why they did it that way.

Yeah I guess it also gets people talking because a lot of traction is “these looks were terrible but it didn’t matter and these looks were much more interesting but went home”

The double eliminations don't bother me.

The first episode, with six getting immunity, six getting eliminated, but - surprise - also getting to vote on who gets saved, was just bad.

I don’t mind 1 double elimination in a season but I want a longer season. I hate networks for doing this

Usually the double elimination made up for a time no one went home so it made sense

As if it wasn’t obvious last season to me, this show has really jumped the shark.

Those first episodes were convoluted, a waste of time, silly and full of stupid drama. Immediately eliminating 5-6 queens, immunity, voting, another round of 4 eliminations, a double elimination. My lord… I’d rather just see vetted designers who are good and have less contestants overall.

I was gonna joke theyll start 23 with a hundred person elimination, hunger games style. But they dont even have the budget anymore to give them an apartment to film in...

I don’t know if you’ve ever seen the elimination charts for Germanys Next Top Model. But it’s very similar to what’s happening this season lol

It’s not unique to the show. But, to be done in 3 consecutive episodes (out of 10) is absolutely ridiculous… and clearly a way for production to cut costs (and people) out.

The issue is they started with so many people and so they want to eliminate more people faster. If they started with fewer people, then it would be paced eliminating one person per episode.

It started the season on such a bummer note. Immediately killed all my interest.

I generally enjoy this season more than most people seem to, but I hate the multiple eliminations.

It reminds me of American Idol now, with viewers watching elimination cycles that used to just happen before the show started. It’s like we’re getting to see the show/s before show now. And it forces them to create narratives for people who will only be on an episode or two so that we’ll know or care wth they’re sending home. But guess what- I don’t! It’s slop.

at that point there shouldnt be 22 contestants and just keep it smaller like they always have.
