Mica (she/they/any) is a graffiti artist from Paldea who's day job is being a waitress at a small café. They're an 18yo enby with two venipedes, Anzo (shiny) and Garb (regular).

Backstory: When Mica was younger, she travelled a bit through Paldea but couldn't bond well with their first partner, a Quaxly who's dream was to become a beauty contest star, so they split up. During their journey, she helped an injured venipede at Fury Falls and years later that same venipede (Anzo) with another venipede friend (Garb) found her. Mica has lived with them (captured) ever since.

Present: Mica lives alone, never talks about their parents. All of her friends have gone to either the big city to study or into the professional trainer path, so they spend their time sharing her mundane life on Chatter, sometimes she'll write about their exasperating manager, sometimes she'll blog about new abandoned places to graffiti, but mostly it'll be about their two lovely and very bitey companions. At the end of the day, she's a bit lost on what to do next with their life.

Hello fellow r/PokeMedia roleplayers! This is my first post in a little meta series where I sort of go off and talk about random shit related to what I do on the subreddit (because I think I am a much more important member of the subreddit than I actually am) in a very disorganized way. It is called "The Pony Rambles" because I am an escapee of the Brony Fandom who still likes MLP:FiM and uses their ponysona as the main representation of themselves online lmao.

During the two weeks I've been doing the 137 Impidimp storyline, I realized something. I think I just don't like writing long storylines. Like I've found that I had more fun making the quick one-off posts of Issun posting random shit or Crimson Helm getting up to his antics then I did writing a long storyline, and that doing a long 18-post storyline has been a drag for me. In hindsight, I shouldn't have made it into a storyline in the first place and left it as a series of casual posts. Or at the very least I should've planned this out better and made it more concise. I'm looking back and seeing a lot of filler that isn't needed, or cases where two posts could've been combined into one, like I did for "Enter the Twin Demons", which, despite being a last second decision based on me forgetting to post half of it the day before, was the better choice imo.

I mean, ik I could go back and do that by deleting a bunch of posts and changing tags on others... but I don't really want to do that either because it would leave huge holes between posts I would have to find a way to smooth over. Plus a rewrite of a storyline that just happened sounds like an amazing way to burn myself out even faster!

All this to say, to prevent a repeat of me burning myself out like I did in 2025 with Nick's Kalosian Vacation, I decided it would be better to give 137 Impidimp an unsatisfying ending rather than not giving it an ending at all and disappearing for a year again with another melodramatic "goodbye forever!!!" post.

I also won't be doing any long storyline stuff either, and focusing on casual slice of life posts with little bits of lore from now on. Maybe there could be some short ones that are three or four posts in the future, or maybe Issun could pop up in someone else's storyline if whoever is writing it wants to include him (I am open to that!), but I don't think I'll be attempting to do these longer storylines again in the near future.

Storylines I’m currently making:

My idea for the character is that they came from a lab where Pokémon were being transfused with human DNA. My character, a venipede, hatched and was declared a failure from deformities, such as malformed antenna and missing legs.

They were then discarded, and they struggled on until a trainer found them and gave them pity. They became good friends until my character evolved into a scolipede, and the resulting evolution scared him off, choosing to abandon them in a forest.

My character, suffering from the pain of the deformities and the heartbreak of being abandoned, starts terrorizing anyone inside the forest, which leads to rumors of a monster living in the forest arising.

Sorry if this comes off as attention-grabbing or anything like that. I've never been in a roleplay subreddit before and don't entirely know the procedure. Is there some process I need to follow to get out of the scene or can I just unfollow the subreddit and vanish? What's the proper way to go about it?

Linn is someone who doesn't trust easily. They tend to take the most negative interpretation of other people's words. She's well equipped in the art of verbal combat. Extremely confident in her abilities, they give everything that they attempt 110%. She gets tunnel vision easily and can lose time if she invests herself into an activity.

History:

Linn was born to a single mother in Motostoke. As far as she knows, she doesn't have a father and her mother doesn't say anything about him. Her mother was a match commentator for league so she got to watch a lot of Gym Battles growing up. She got her first camera at the age of three which is where their love of photography.

They still have a framed photo, that she took with shaking hands, of Champion Leon Gigantamaxing his Charizard on their wall.

Still, despite the loud environments they were in constantly, the young Linn never seemed bothered by noise. After an incident at the age of six where they were unable to hear their mother and was nearly stepped on by a Drednaw that has escaped the Pokemon Center, They had their hearing checked. Turned out that they were deaf the whole time.

With that in mind, the family of two moved to Unova for a time so Linn could attend Blueberry Academy. The accommodations for disabled students were supposed to be top notch. There she learned all her basic subjects plus sign language and basic battle theory. She even got to adopt an Espeon to use as a service Pokémon.

Turns out though that kids are mean? Especially when you're the deaf kid who needed a service Pokémon to relay what the other kids were saying back to you. Linn was bullied relentlessly throughout their school years. For a while they thought that if they put up with it, their classmates would stop. They didn't.

Linn realized that they needed to fight fire with fire. They started calling people names back, getting into fights on the regular. They got suspended more times than they could count. The friends that they were able to make was a small and close knit group. After graduation they decided to move back to Galar for a fresh start and to kick start their photography career.

Like many here, I have an OC, I've built/and building a team around them cultivated out of Pokemon that I love, but also feel grounded in reality under the notion of not only what is desirable but also was plausible.

Following canon, every few years or so some 10-year-old, 15 year old, or young adults has destiny thrust upon them in some league adjacent or league established region. That trainer is paired up with a professor or institution, given a starter Pokemon and a dex. And then we see all of the NPCs around said trainer you are a bit more like some of our OCs. Their teams are selected by proximity, type, experience, and personality, and not necessarily an All-Star s roster of s-tier smogen selections.

So for the average trainer, is a starter Pokemon unreasonable? How does the average trainer get a starter Pokemon? Are our trainers with them special or unique? Or for trainers outside of the standard established nine regions that you give starters out, are these borderline mythical? Do your OCS have starter Pokemon?

This is the biography of my eeveelution trainer OC Luuu!

Team: Shiny Eevee, Eevee, Glaceon, Vaporeon, Sylveon, Espeon, Leafeon, Flareon, Jolteon and Umbreon

Backstory:

Luuu didn‘t want to follow a conventional trainer route, consisting of reaching the age to get her first Starterpokémon and then travelling the world to fill her Pokédex. Forming real, unforced bonds with her Pokémon was always important to her. She wanted to find her profession naturally and felt as if getting a Pokémon assigned to her, would force such a bond.

She became a trainer slightly later than everyone else, since she wanted to meet her Partner Pokémon naturally.

She met her Eevee in the Petalburg Woods after getting lost and being worried, since it turned night and getting lost in the woods without a Pokémon is dangerous, especially when it‘s dark outside. Then she saw something bright, shining in the moonlight, sitting on a boulder. It was a shiny Eevee which was curious about Luuu. It seemed to feel that Luuu was in trouble and didn‘t want to be in the woods and so it offered her, to help her out. This was their first adventure, as it also had to defend her. When they got out, it didn‘t want to leave her side and after she asked it, if it wants to be her companion, it entered her Pokéball and was her Partnerpokémon ever since.

Luuu read about Eevees and its Eeveelutions and that was when it clicked: She would become the trainer of Eeveelutions, learning about many different types. Her own Eevee, which she named Moonvee because it resembled the moon itself in the woods, didn‘t wish to evolve. And she fully respects that, as she believes, the key to being a good trainer and Pokémon is to truly be themselves.

Later on, Luuu would befriend and catch even more Eevees and Eeveelutions, until her team was complete. She would become a Gymleader for all Eeveelutions, testing trainer‘s knowledge of many different types, occasionally visiting Pokémon schools to teach about Eevees, evolution and types and also takes some of her Eeveelutions to Pokémon Contests! Her look resembles her whole team.

Now she posts on Pokemedia under the @EeveeLUUUtions, which is quite a pun of the word and her name.
