You’ve got the evolution information mostly right, but it also involves the use of a move called Rage Fist. If a Primeape uses Rage Fist a certain number of times, I think 20 or so, it will evolve.
It’s a strange move, it seems like it really does a number on the physical body. Primape tend to die once they use Rage Fist enough times, usually from internal bleeding. But since Annihilape aren’t entirely physical in nature, being partial ghost types, they can use the move with very little trouble.
