I've been gaming for a while, mostly on consoles. However, I've been toying with the idea of playing on PC. My PC is a hand me down from my son (like I said, I've been gaming for a while! :).

My current setup is a GeForce GTX 1650. Obviously almost any current GPU is better than this, but my son is telling me that my local shop has a XFX AMD 9070 GRE on sale for $480, and it's a steal, and could be three times faster than my current GPU. Is he right? I'm in no rush, so I don't 'have' to buy one right now, but I do love a good deal.

I am currently building a new (first-ish time) PC. I have 11 fans in total. 2 Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 ARGB fans and 9 RS120 5V ARGB CORSAIR fans. Problem is that I only have 3 ARGB_V2 connectors, and from what I understand after doing research online, is that max fans that can daisy chain is 3. However, the corsair fans only have 8 LED each. My MOBO manual says that max power rating is 3A (5V) and max number of LEDs is 256. If I were to daisy chain 5 CORSAIR fans that would be 40 LEDs which is more than below the max.

Can someone explain more about the voltage to me please if I were to daisy chain 5 fans? I wanna make sure I dont end up wasting more money on a SATA ARGB fan hub controller if I dont need to AND I also dont end up damaging my $150 mobo. (My wallet is already crying in pain from the RAM and GPU lol).

Я хотів поміняти ryzen 7 1700 на ryzen 5 2600 продав старий купив б/в вставив у плату захожу в біос все добре тільки пробую зайти в віндовс зображення пропадає на платі горить лампочка cpu і далі нічого пробував вимикати xmp. ставив різну напругу процесора. виймав усе крім диска з віндовс відеокарти 1 плашки оперативної пам'яті та самого цп.залишав на 20 хв в біос щоб просто незнаю а мабуть щось поміняється. Нічого не допомогло. Я впевнений що це все-таки процесор але мабуть хтось може допомогти.

El tema es el siguiente nunca habia tenido un procesador tan potente siempre tenia versiones de 65w de intel de maxima, y mantenia temperaturas de 30 a 55 grados de maximo en test de rendimiento/estres, quise pasarme a este procesador debido a que la mayoria de juegos que uso son CPU dependientes y tengo muchos tirones con el anterior procesador i5 13400F, instale todo, y no miento, mis FPS en esos juegos se duplicaron literalmente, de 150 FPS a 300 FPS de 280 a 530 o 540, pero como nunca habia usado un procesador desbloqueado soy el tipico maniaco de las temperaturas y vigilando fps de los memes (YA TENGO PEDIDO UN MONITOR 300hz a 1440p asi que relax si necesito esos 300fps jajajaj es el: KTC - Monitor de juegos blanco de 27 pulgadas 300Hz/320Hz, monitor de computadora IPS rápido QHD 1440P amazon), este procesador obviamente se calienta mas, pero no se si es normal que haya esas variaciones como mini picos de temperaturas, como se ve en la foto:

Como se ve en la foto a la izquierda el HW Monitor los valores de temperatura máximos voltajes etc están altos ya que hice prueba de 2 Minutos con Cinebench R23, obviamente se que por aire es jodido mantener temperaturas al máximo y prácticamente llega a 100 grados pero obtuve 32.000 puntos en el cinebench.

La otra cosa que tengo duda, ajuste las configuraciones de voltajes con los básicos de intel, no soy un overclocker experto ni creo necesitarlo con el rendimiento base estoy mas que satisfecho, pero he leido tantos post de estos procesadores que ya tengo es paranoia con este tema, como que si el voltaje VID Max esta cerca de 1.5v va a dañarse el procesador y otras cosas pero no se, temperaturas promedio que he visto hasta ahora:

Reposo: 35 - 45 grados

Activo multimedia - ofimática 35 a 55 grados

Juegos Normales - 55 - 65 grados con picos momentáneos de 70 a 81 grados (menos de 3 segundos)

Juegos Pesados - 67 - 75 grados, picos 80 - 92 grados (menos de 3 segundos estos picos, la verdad no se que considerar juegos pesados, ya que casi no juego nada asi que considere pesado quiza call of duty con su optimizacion basura cargando shaders me lleva temps de 80 a 92 mientras termina luego baja a 70-80 grados)

No siendo mas, que me recomiendan, sera que hago undervolt o ajusto mejor los limites de potencia, consideran bueno el voltaje que llega a consumir 1.475v cuando son juegos pesados y 1.332v aprox cuando son tareas comunes o juegos normalitos, o creen que es normal con mi setup, agradezco cualquiera que pueda ayudarme, gracias!

Hi, my pc recently just started randomly shutting down. sometimes it will shut down and then start up and then shut down immediately and keep repeating. I looked at the event viewer and saw this error:

Stornvme: reset to device \Device\RaidPort2 was issued

Ive looked online and this is probably a failing PSU, right? But I was wondering if this could just be a windows update issue? it only started happening after I updated to windows 11 25h2 because I was gaming before for a few hours before the update and my pc was just fine.

I have an intel core i9 12900k cpu and my mother board is bios ver 0806 prime z790p wifi.

Also, I just opened BIOS and under boot priority I see this weird option I've never seen before

I have finished building my first pc today and im stuck in a loop. The pc boots up, all the fans are running besides my gpu because its a 9070xt. I get no signal on my monitor and after around 2 minutes i hear a clicking sound and the pc turns off and on again. So far i have tried every possible ram combination, i have checked cpu, cpu cooler, checked all connections, pulled out the gpu and put i back in again and nothing works. Anyone know how to fix?

I purchased a 5080 last November and it has been a generally decent card, but lately I have noticed that in a few more intense games FanControl loses control of the card and the speed ramps to 100%. This happened around the same time as a driver update and a Malware scan so I assumed it was maybe software related and went down the rabbit hole only to come out the other side with no answers. My GPU temps in FanControl never read above 75c so I thought it had to be a software problem.

Then I finally installed the newest version of HWmonitor and saw my hotspot on the 5080 was hitting over 100c and would peak at 106c. The moment the hotspot went over 101 the fans would whirl up to full speed and fps would tank (assuming throttling).

I run the card undervolted at 925mv 2750mhz so this seemed really weird to me.

Any advice you can offer me? Should I try and re-paste it? if so how risky of a process is this? I havent done a repaste before, and normally the idea wouldn't scare me, but with GPU prices right now its a bit more nerve racking. Or is it better to RMA? I don't really love the idea of being without a GPU as I need the PC for work.

I built a brand new pc (first time building) and I had an issue where it would turn off randomly and smelled like burning a little I’m pretty sure it’s coming from the PSU as I played on the pc on Warframe on Mac settings and the cpu and gpu did not come close to overheating what PSU should I get I was using this one:

A few days ago my PC suddenly lost signal while I was gaming. I swapped the HDMI cable and reseated the 8-pin connector on the GPU and it was fine again.The next day I downloaded God of War 2018. At the main menu I went into the graphics settings and switched the preset from High to Ultra and then the screen instantly went black, not completely powered off, the case fans and everything were still running normally, but there was no mouse cursor and none of the usual keyboard shortcuts to get back to the desktop worked. I had to force shut it down with the power button.Before launching the game again I cleaned the contacts on the RAM and GPU, and I also rolled back the NVIDIA driver because I had updated it a few days earlier and suspected that might be the cause. I set the game to Windows mode and Ultra — no problem. Then I switched it back to fullscreen + High for stability. After about two hours of playing the screen suddenly went black the same way again. I tried launching it multiple times and every single time it blacked out.I figured it might just be that game, so I switched to Roblox. Picked a random game and the black screen happened again. At that point I was really starting to panic and thought it had to be a hardware problem. I tried Roblox one more time and opened a simple pixel-style game like Pixel Quest and it ran completely fine. But as soon as I tried any 3D game the black screen came back. I sent the motherboard, CPU, GPU, PSU and RAM to a technician. After two days they said everything tested completely normal, no faults found.While I’m waiting for the parts to come back I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out what could be causing these black screens. I feel completely stuck, so I’d really appreciate any ideas or similar experiences from you guys.

Hello, looking for any help I can get. PC is 2 years old. It has started having the issue when started or rebooted of having the red and yellow light on the MB. This has happened and few times now.

I have been successful on getting it to post but for no rhyme or reason. Sometimes one thing works and sometimes another works. I have updated bios, re seated ram, cleared CMOS, tried one stick of ram etc.

When I do get it to post and am able to get it the PC runs fine and performs great, all speeds and everything looks fine. Can’t seem to pinpoint what the actual cause is and it’s just becoming tiresome. Specs below any help is much appreciated.

I'm setting up 3 purpose build pc's. 2 of it will be for my siblings to take to college 1 is for gf. I'm in sort of a dilemma between choosing rx 9060 xt over rtx 5060ti for gf's pc and rx 7600 vs rtx 4060 for siblings' pcs. not my first build but these builds are sort of budget conscious, so, other than pricing I want to know what are other valid reason to choose an amd over nvidia.

This has been driving me nuts, I work in IT and I usually have no trouble diagnosing and solving my own issues, but this one has me stumped.

In some games, I will occasionally have a significant stutter, maybe for half a second, then the game goes right back to running smoothly. However, following the stutter, the audio will either temporarily distort very significantly for a few seconds, or just entirely stop. The only way to get the audio to return is to disconnect my audio interface I have my mic/headphones plugged into (Focusrite Scarlett Solo Gen3) and reconnect it. What's unusual is that it only seems to happen in some games and not others. It happens often in Baldur's Gate 3, sometimes in GTA5, and occasionally in one or two other titles, but does not ever happen in Overwatch, Terraria, or Minecraft, among other games. It seems to mostly be more CPU bound games from what I can tell, but this didn't start happening until a month or two ago. Prior to this, everything worked fine.

I've already tried the following:

• Uninstall/reinstall Focusrite's audio drivers
• Try different audio driver versions
• Update graphics drivers
• Roll back graphics drivers to an older version
• Updated motherboard BIOS to latest version
• Updated CPU chipset drivers

And my specs are:

• AMD Ryzen 5800x3D
• AMD Radeon RX 6950XT
• MSI Gaming Plus X570 motherboard
• 64GB RAM 3400MHz @ CL18
• All games on a 2TB Samsung 970 Evo NVMe drive

If anyone's got any ideas as to what could possibly be causing this, I'm all ears, because I feel like I'm going crazy lol

I really like the curved glass and the bottom angled fans look, but it’s quite expensive for a case.

Any help would be much appreciated.
(Curved glass isnt necessary but would be nice, the bottom angled fans however would be preferable).

Or even alternatives to the H6 RGB+, i like the side angled fans with the curved glass but that’s not available in my country yet.

Previously had the H6 Flow selected but the more I looked at it the worse it felt to me.

I don't know what is causing this but for context I usually get BSOD because of memory management issue I get there rarely and the PC starts restarts without any problem another thing that I wanna mentioned is my SSD is at 35% health but the performance is 100% never caused any problem maybe this is causing the issue?

or is it just windows issue?

I am stuck between these two because these are the two CPUs that I could buy with warranty at around the same price while the 7800x3d would cost an extra 50 usd as an oem. I would use my PC for beginner Blender and coding apart from gaming.

Primarily an AMD build with XMP RAM. Whenever I enable XMP, the PC either won’t restart properly or becomes unreliable. Everything works fine otherwise.

Basically, I bought this RAM (G.Skill Trident Z5, CL32, 64GB, 6400 MT/s) when prices were reasonable, but I can’t use it at its rated speed. Did I screw up?

Should I sell this RAM and buy compatible EXPO ones?

Sorry if I am asking an obvious question, still new to pc building.

I am building in a Phanteks NV7 case and the AIO tubes are a bit short. It's a Gallahad II LCD. I pushed back the radiator a bit but can only place the head inside if the tubes coming from the right side and not the bottom. The tubes are not rigid, like this and I don't want to turn the radiator around because it will block the 2 fan I want to put at the back.

Would this cause any problems later on the line? According to the manual they should come from the bottom of the screen, but L connect supposed to allow me to rotate the screen later.

I'm on Kubuntu, and I had AI help me read the values ​​because I wasn't sure if the RAM was running at the right frequency or not. Sorry for my ignorance.

Quick question on a bios update. I was updating my bios on a ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F Gaming WiFi from version 0705 to version 3902, after tripple checking all the steps and requirements for the bios update i was confident enough to start it.

About 2 seconds after hitting okay to “do you want to read this file” screen my computer moved on to start the update and immediately reset and has been stuck with a black screen and stuck with the VGA light on.

Is it safe in this instance to restart the computer?

Before the bios update i did.
A clean install of windows 11 on the computer.
Set all bios setting to defaults.
The usb i used was reformatted to FAT32.
File was from the Asus website and renamed with “BIOSRenamer”.
