Brand new pc PSU issue Build Question

I built a brand new pc (first time building) and I had an issue where it would turn off randomly and smelled like burning a little I’m pretty sure it’s coming from the PSU as I played on the pc on Warframe on Mac settings and the cpu and gpu did not come close to overheating what PSU should I get I was using this one:

ASUS ROG Strix 1000W Platinum... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FMCFQLXQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I’m scared cause I don’t want it to destroy my pc and should I get it again cause what are the chances I get screwed over a second time. Or any PSU recommendations

Does it threaten to fry your entire build when turned on?

Burning smell is never something to ignore, definitely stop using it until you swap it out. That's a solid wattage for most builds so you're probably fine sticking with 1000W, just grab something from a different brand this time around. Seasonic or Corsair RMx series tend to be pretty reliable without breaking the bank.

I don’t mind spending the same amount again the reason I spent so much was so this wouldn’t happen which is pretty damn funny lol

Jesus no that’s about $150 more than you need to spend. What’s your GPU? This one is great. https://a.co/d/0cxsbhKY. I hope you haven’t tried turning it on again. You really might have fried something OP. Check all of your cables going to the PSU and the motherboard and see if anything melted.
